Mountain getaway with hot tub near Seneca Rocks

The Secluded Mountain Retreat was built by the owner in recent years and is close to much of the best of WV! Private and secluded with a mountain view through the trees, you will find it the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and exploring this beautiful area. It is located 20 minutes from either Spruce Knob or Seneca Rocks. The Monongahela National Forest is only a few hundred feet away to allow endless hiking, wildlife viewing, and anything else you can think of to do in thousands of acres of woods. Within a 20 minute drive, there are a couple of choices for rock climbing, many public accesses to stocked and native trout streams, Spruce Knob Lake, and a couple of caves that are open for tours.

Within forty-five minutes to an hour, there are two ski resorts (Canaan Valley and Timberline); Blackwater Falls; and Highlands Golf Course at Franklin, West Virginia. Snowshoe Mountain Resort (more great skiing) and several different excursion trains are a 1.5-hour drive or less from the cabin.

~The cabin has a loft with a queen bed and a bedroom on the lower level with a queen bed.

~A full bath is connected to the lower-level bedroom, and another full bath is on the main floor at the bottom of the steps to the loft.

~A full kitchen provides you with all the appliances, pots and pans, and dishes you need for cooking. However, if you do not wish to cook while you are on vacation, the Gateway Family Restaurant is only a few miles away; it offers delicious food.

~If you want to grill, we have a park-style grill as well as a fire pit and a picnic table. This shady spot is a great place to picnic and enjoy nature! You are welcome to pick up any wood that is dead and laying down around the cabin. You can also buy campfire wood bundles and charcoal at the local convenience stores as we do not provide these things.

~Amenities include WiFi, a telephone you can use to make local calls or long-distance calls if you have a calling card, central AC, lawn chairs, and a deck to sit on and enjoy the mountain view through the trees.

Note: if you come in the winter, it would be wise to bring an AWD.

This place is a great place for families to come on vacation or couples to enjoy some together time without life's distractions.

You definitely will be hidden away from the crowd when you are staying here.

Please note that we do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs. Check-in is anytime after 4 pm, and check-out is 11:00 am or before.
