Peaceful Setting but close to beaches!

Heaven's Gate Cabin Retreat seems so far from the hustle and bustle, but Delaware beaches (Rehoboth Boardwalk, Cape Henlopen State Park/Lewes Beach and Dewey Beach) and tax-free outlet shopping are only 25 minutes away! It is our little slice of Heaven just close enough to great restaurants, lovely beaches and all the beauty and excitement of Southern Delaware. We put a lot of care into this charming cabin. We hope you love it as much as our family does!

The cabin has central air conditioning for your comfort, and a large outdoor grill for your family barbecues.

Roast smores by the firepit - we will start you off with some logs for your enjoyment. Family barbecues in the back yard are a must at the cabin! But if the weather isn't cooperating, the kitchen is well equipped for family meals and memories.
Nearby Millsboro/Georgetown shopping is only ten minutes away. Bring your bikes and hit Cape Henlopen bike trails. There are countless restaurants and area attractions all less than a half hour away. If you are looking for a little peace and quiet near all the excitement that southern Delaware has to offer, this is the place for you. It is truly a little slice of Heaven!

Please note that there are cameras mounted on the exterior of the property. No pets are permitted on the property. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 9 am, this is a quiet residential neighborhood.

Wonderful Getaway

It was such a wonderful stay. Its extremely spacious, cozy, has everything you need- you feel at home away from home. And it's close to anything you may want to do but away from the crowds.

My family and I stayed with another family and the home was perfect for all 8 of us! Plenty of space for the adults and kids. It had everything we needed, was very clean and close to attractions. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

Our stay was fantastic! The property owner is extremely communicative and friendly, and the property is simply terrific. The cabin is cozy, the property is serene, and the large fire pit was a real hit.

Spacious, homey and comfortable

My retired brothers and sister- in- law enjoyed our stay. Although it rained most days, it was easy access to the beaches and other beach attractions. The place was very comfortable, clean, and had the amenities we needed to have an enjoyable stay.

Lovely cabin weekend

We had a fabulous stay. The cabin is beautifully decorated with plenty of comfy beds, well furnished outdoor spaces, and an impressively stocked kitchen. The host was wonderful, extremely responsive, and accommodating to our requests, and just overall super nice to coordinate with. Would highly recommend!

We are a group of over-60 women who met for the first time last May. We wanted to try a weekend getaway to see how we would mesh as a unit, and it was wonderful. Of course, the beauty and cleanliness of the facility boosted our experience tremendously, and although we hoped one or two more would be able to join us, the four of us had an amazing time.

Bravissimo

One of the cleanest, well maintained VRBO's that I've stayed at in awhile! The rooms, kitchen, and property were exactly as described and came well equipped. The cabin is located within 10-15 minutes of Dog Fish Head Brewery which was awesome to check out, and about 20-25 minutes to the beach. Would highly recommend this beach cabin for anyone looking to have an affordable, weekend getaway!

Peaceful and pleasant

This property was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. The cabin was on a wooded lot and yet 20-25 minutes from the beach. The inside was very well cleaned and had everything we needed. We enjoyed a couple of evenings around the firepit (wood provided) and ate some smores. One of our family was celebrating a birthday, so we ate dinner at one of the outdoor picnic tables. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay!

Lovely, well-appointed, clean house! Our family (Parents, and three young kids) had a fantastic stay. The home is spacious and has great living spaces for dinner, hanging out, etc. The weather was cool during our stay, and we are looking forward to coming back when it is warmer to enjoy the gorgeous screen porch space and watch the kids play outside and make smores. They were the perfect hosts and gave us all kinds of wonderful memories for our stay. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin

Three families and kids were here for a lacrosse tournament. I have stayed at many VRBO properties and this was one of the best. The owners have thought of everything you need an more -- there were ingredients for s'mores in the kitchen for use at the fire pit, for example. Great communication -- had two questions and they were answered immediately. Will 100% stay here again when we're back for our next tournament.

Christmas in July

This was a wonderful place to celebrate Christmas in July! It was very comfortable and had a beautiful backyard with a fire pit and plenty of chairs for everyone to relax in. The host even left the makings for S’mores! The only issue we had was a lack of soap in the house - shower, hand and dish. If we are ever back in the area again we would definitely stay here!

Cabin at the beach

The cabin was roomy for our family! So cozy and clean. Love the signs on the walls! The upstairs loft room was lovely. It was nice to have two tv’s to entertain the kids. It was nice to have the coffee maker, grill and washer and dryer available. The only two suggestions would be to turn down the water heater and to place shades on the windows and skylights in the bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay and played many games of UNO!

We enjoyed our experience at this cabin and the attenion to detail was commendable. The extent of consideration was honorable and value was blatant. Location was a reasonable distance from most attractions and I think they even sprayed for mosquitos, so enjoying the firepit/property was bite/itch free😎. We expected the typical bare bones home but this property even included quality firewood for our convenience. Thanks again for sharing your home with us & our eldest Son truly enjoyed his birthday getaway. Be blessed and take care...

Nice house

Overall house was great, very cute with nice outdoor space and porches. Had all the kitchen things we needed and plenty of towels. Two full bathrooms (one with 2 showers in it!) neither is attached to the bedrooms so it was easy to share in the group. Other than one bed in the house being a bit hard all the other beds were good. One room has two queen size beds. About 25 minuets to the beach and just 10 minutes from Sport on the Beach for those there for baseball tournaments. Owner was nice and very responsive.

Tranquil place at the beach with great amenities!

As a property manager and realtor myself, I was very impressed with this amazing home. Although it may seem like it is a distance from the beach, it really is not and is very easy to get to. This home is in a very peaceful area and has a great yard, ample parking, is very clean, well appointed, comfortable beds, great dining table, excellent wifi, oversized TV in Main area and a bonus TV in loft area. The backyard boasts a fire pit with ample adirondack chairs for gathering around to make smores (which were a special treat that greeted us upon arrival). Owners checked in with us upon arrival and made sure that we were all set with everything. We traveled with a few games, but the owners had several great games available for our use also. This is one of my favorite rentals. I highly recommend this VRBO. Cathy

Renter Beware

As a Property Management professional, I suggest you do your due diligence and document everything during your stay. No one has only 5* star reviews. In fact, they teach us about this in our industry. No negative or impartial reviews should be a red flag. To summarize our experience, I will say I love nothing more than being accused of things that we know as five respectable adults here for our kids baseball weekend we did not do. To pin “damages” on someone and fraudulently charge for things is asinine, especially when asked to provide TIME STAMPED pictures for proof by us and VRBO. The accusations made by said homeowner and specifically their cleaner, are insulting and a prime example of defamation.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this property the minute we saw it! It needed some TLC - but we could see that it could be truly special. We call it Heaven's Gate because it feels so far away from it all, it is perfectly peaceful and quiet. Yet we love knowing the best restaurants, shopping and beaches is less than 25 minutes away!
