The Space:
Our family-friendly cabin is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends.

The cabin includes:
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- 2 bedrooms: one with a queen bed, and the other with a queen + twin bunk combo (3 beds total)
- Additional pull-out sofa in the main living room
- Fully-stocked kitchen with stove/oven and microwave
- Wood stove to keep you cozy at night (plus baseboard heaters if you want to keep things easy)
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang
- An outdoor yard game treasure box full of activities for kids and adults: cornhole, volleyball, soccer balls, horseshoes, and many more!

Our cabin also has private access to the Cacapon River, just a quick 15 min walk from the cabin. It’s perfect (especially on a hot day!) for swimming, fishing, or splashing around.

One quick note: our cabin is secluded, and without Internet or cell service. We love disconnecting from the world while we're there and putting away our smart phones, but please plan accordingly. That said, we have plenty of board games, outdoor games, and the hot tub to enjoy!

Please be advised you have rented a mountainous property. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard-packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front-wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low-profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

We often take our two little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly.

Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to Berkeley Springs (a 20 min drive away). Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US, and has fantastic breweries, restaurants, and shops for you to enjoy!

Great value, great location
We stayed for a quick last minute getaway. Lots of value for the price. The house was well stocked with necesseties and mostly clean. It could use a more regular deep clean as the windwsills by the kids bed had old bugs, cobwebs on some decor and under the couch trundle bed was very dirty. There wasnt wifi and the number that was left for us couldnt be used on the house phone. None of this hindered our stay though. Hot tub was the reason we booked and very easy to use and enjoy. no neighbors on that side of the house. We had a fun time with all of the games movies and puzzles. Would definitely stay again!

Great getaway - As described.
Had a great visit to the cabin and Toni was a great host. I was seeking a secluded cabin with a clean hot tub/firepit and that’s what I found. The host was great about expectations… you absolutely need a suv or Awd to maneuver the hill driveway in the winter but it’s so worth it. No wifi and no cell service, it was fantastic to disconnect. The advice to arrive with groceries and firewood was a must follow. Comfortable bed. There is another cabin the property looks down on but that’s to be expected. Really only noticed them when they were loud or in their hot tub but overall the property was so silent! If you’re seeking solitude, nature and stargazing… this is a great choice. Special note book a Roman bath in Berkeley Springs. Absolutely amazing.

Plenty to do, cabin was a view!
Summarization of property was accurate and perfect for what we were looking for. Look forward to staying again and appreciated the host’s recommendations. Everywhere we went was amazing. Caught off guard local shops only open on the weekend in off season.

Family time
Make sure you are okay with being disconnected from the internet and cell service. We knew this going into it and enjoyed our time as a family together without the distractions.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Forest River Lodge in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
