Bahama Bay is a beautiful, Caribbean-style, 24 hour gated resort on the banks of picturesque Lake Davenport; our vacation home, the Grand Bahama is the most spacious of the three bedroom villas, not to be compared with the smaller Abacos. With more than 1,700 square feet of air-conditioned penthouse comfort, the villa provides the epitome of quiet relaxation. The best beaches in America are just forty five minutes away, or you can venture onto the many championship golf courses or take the family to world renowned adventure parks, such as Disney, Universal, Sea World. That's when you are not enjoying Bahama Bay Resort’s many fabulous amenities, which include 17,000 sq.ft. recreation center & clubhouse, pool bar & grille, four swimming pools with whirlpools, children's pool & play area, full service spa & salon, fitness facility, Internet access, mini-market, volleyball, basketball, tennis, billiards, walking trails, sandy beach, fishing, and more!


Dining Options On-Site: At Bahama Bay Resort when it comes to dining you can have the best of both worlds... If your passion is cooking or saving on food cost, then our self-catering villa is perfect for you. There is a store within the resort where you can buy basic grocery items, but if you're looking for something specific then there are both Publix (supermarket) and Walmart Superstore (supermarket/department - open 24hours) stores just minutes away. There may, however, be times when you want to eat out... 'Mambo's' is a casual poolside grill where you can get snacks throughout the day. You can even have pizzas delivered to you in your villa! 'Tradewinds' lakeside restaurant serves buffet breakfasts and alfresco lunches. The dinner menu is extremely varied and we’re sure there’s something for the most discriminating palate! Need a drink? There are two poolside bars and the 'Tradewinds' cocktail bar, offering weekly activities (Karaoke), happy hour and live entertainment.

Dining Options Off-Site: If you wish to try some local establishments, ‘Orlando Ale House' boasts the best for daily specials on food and drink! The condo was as described in the listing and conveniently located for a nearby baseball tournament. The unit’s layout and full kitchen worked well for our group. We used the pullout couch and that was comfortable enough. We enjoyed the two pools, onsite restaurant, pickleball courts (reserve ahead!) and beach volleyball courts.

This condo was the best value we have rented since we started renting vacation condos in 1981. We would like to stay there for a longer period next year. The only negative is its third floor location. Luckily the office sent 2 men to carry up our heavy suitcases to the condo. A great location. Less than 20 minutes to Disney, universal, and sea world. Several nearby golf courses. A washer and dryer like we have at our house. A 6 star recommendation.

But our home away from home is at Bahama Bay, just 10 minutes from Walt Disney World!

Why they chose this property

We decided early on that we wanted a home in Florida for our future retirement and to enjoy during our time-off while we were working. We visited over 30 properties in the Orlando area, and while each one had some unique characteristics that we liked, only Bahama Bay hit the mark for us.

Located on over 70 acres of land, the resort is truly that - a resort. The buildings are all offset, so you aren't looking into your neighbor's windows. There are pools and tennis courts and barbecues and walking trails and a fitness center and a sauna and... well, Bahama Bay just had it all. When you settle in, even though you are about 10 minutes from Disney, you feel a world away.

What makes this property unique

All of the villas at Bahama Bay are great, but what makes our unit just a bit more unique than the others is location and management.

Our villa overlooks the central pond whose fountain is lit at night. Our screened balcony is the perfect spot to enjoy an early breakfast or a late-night book. We are literally a two minute walk along a lighted path to the main Club House with oversized pool, fitness center, hot tubs and children's splash pad. Two minutes across the parking lot from our villa will take you to the resort's barbecue area and children's playground.

We are literally at the center of the action, and as our realtor always tells us - LOCATION - LOCATION - LOCATION.

We are also very pleased to utilize the on-site management company to take care of our villa and all of our guests. That means if you have a problem, however small, someone is there 7-24 to help make it right.

Toaster not working? No problem - call front desk and they will send over a new one. Door lock acting up? No worries - reach out to front desk and they will send maintenance over to make it right. Air conditioner not cooling? A quick call is all it takes to have someone over, usually in less than 30 minutes, to assess, fix and resolve whatever issue comes up.

Some owners opt for an off-site management company to save some money which means hours and sometimes days until issues are resolved. We focus on providing the best guest experience possible - and it shows in our countless 5-star reviews. Things go wrong - you can't help that. But having access to 7-24 on-site support means that when something goes wrong, it can be corrected quickly so as not to impact your vacation.
