About this property
Autumn Ridge, 3/2, peaceful/ secluded...1.5 mi from Highlands and fast internet!
Looking for some peace and quiet and to get back to nature? Autumn Ridge sits on a secluded hill with nothing but trees in sight. Your trip starts with a quiet drive through a tunnel of trees to the top of the hill with no neighbors in sight. Plan your own vacation with shopping, antiquing, ziplining, hiking, canoeing on mirror lake, fishing, or even just enjoying the fresh mountain air. You can explore the shopping and restaurants of downtown Highlands which is only 1.5 miles away. Once you come back home you can listen to the leaves rustle overhead while sitting on the deck with a hot coffee or hot chocolate surrounded by the soft movement of the forest. Road to house meanders up the and then down the hill creating a mile long walk or run. Take the dogs off the leash and let them run but don't be surprised to see deer jumping through the brush. Peaceful, beautiful, super comfortable beds, and the whole house was just renovated with guests in mind. House has great internet which sometimes is a rarity in this area! Beautiful location, close to town. Clean, comfortable beds. Had everything we needed. I always read reviews before I choose a place to stay and I can assure you this was a great stay.
We had a wonderful stay! Autumn Ridge was a beautiful home. Extremely clean, comfy beds and beautifully decorated. Close to town, yet quiet and private. Hosts were amazing to work with!
Overall, the house was great. Very comfortable living and sleeping spaces. The house was nice and clean when we arrived, and it is close to downtown as advertised. Would definitely recommend to others. We did wish the kitchen had a few more utensils for cooking and baking. There was only one sharp knife we found and very few measuring cups/spoons. Overall a great stay. Thanks!

We are sorry about the knives. There was a full knife block with steak knives in a block but that seems to have either been stolen or lost. We are replacing that now. Thanks for the comments and your stay! jeff and Kathleen
Property was clean, nice and cozy. Just what we were looking for. We had a little problem getting into the house because instructions for the door lock were not clear. Otherwise, our long weekend escape to the woods was perfect.
5 mins to downtown Highlands, very convenient location. Home was clean and felt private. Owners were fantastic to communicate with. Thanks for the hospitality.
We stayed there with my 3 little kids. The house was perfect for our needs. It is under 3 miles to downtown Highlands which came in clutch when vacationing with 3 kids who needed to head home at parts of the day for nap times.
Host did a great job of communicating all necessary information.
Enjoyed it. The K-cups of coffee were a nice touch. Great location, quiet but close to town. Would be nice to have more seating on the deck. Overall very comfortable and convenient, would stay here again!
A quiet, tidy house in a wooded area with few homes. Close to town, cozy, great coffee bar set up. Owners very responsive to minor issue that arose.
I highly recommend this property.
A wonderful quiet retreat location surrounded by nature and a good place to unwind/relax. While tucked in the woods, property is still in close proximity to town, farmers market, grocery store, Nature Center, waterfalls and trails. Home was comfortable, kitchen well equipped with all the essentials.
This home was cozy and comfortable for our family of 4. We had a wonderful time listening to the rain and watching movies. The beds are very comfortable, the home is very clean and the kitchen has everything you need plus some which made our stay very enjoyable and easy. Also, thanks for the assortment of coffee. We would definitely book here again, hopefully for longer next time. Thank you!
Cute home, big porch, easy drive to DT highlands. Countertops were dirty when we arrived and there were no paper towels to clean them. Smelled a little like dog but that faded with a little Fabreeze. Can’t beat the location. Super comfortable sleep number beds in each room
We had a fantastic visit at this great mountain cottage. After picking up our sons from camp, we traveled here to reconnect with the boys and enjoy a weekend in Highlands. The home was very well equipped with everything we could ever need and more. We felt right at home! The neighborhood is quiet and secluded. The home is on a beautiful mountain road that was great for walking the dog and enjoying the mountain air. Very close to town but a beat away so that you enjoy ample space and privacy. Highly recommend!
What a wonderful, scenic, mountain atmosphere at Autumn Ridge. We were so pleased with everything. From the quiet and secluded area, the excellent decor, and the fact that it was well-equipped and had easy access to the town of Highlands made our stay an excellent one I want to re-iterate what another guest said, "Once you turn onto Ridgewood Rd, please pay attention to the One Way Drive sign. Our GPS took us the wrong way. " Maybe add this message to your email to guests. Jeff and Kathleen are wonderful hosts.
Our weekend stay at Autumn Ridge was just what we needed. Quiet, serene and seemingly uninhabited. Although Highlands is conveniently located only 2 miles away, we did not see or hear one moving vehicle on the driveway the entire duration of our stay. Once you turn onto Ridgewood Rd, please pay attention to the One Way Drive sign. Our GPS took us the wrong way. Jeff and Kathleen are wonderful hosts and will respond immediately to any questions you might have.

Our family has been vacationing in the Highlands area for the last 10 years. We love it! We enjoy everything from water skiing on Lake Glenville to shopping and eating in Highlands. We like it here because its peaceful. My wife and I lead hectic lives and enjoy the quiet and privacy that this area and house has to offer. We come here to relax. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
While peaceful and secluded, it also sits 1.5 miles from downtown Highlands where the shopping and restaurants are located. One way road up to house curves up the hill to the top where the house sits. The road then meanders down to meet the entrance, creating about a mile loop. The shaded road has moss growing down the middle and feels like you are going through a tunnel of trees. Best jogging I have encountered. Just remember the altitude of 4200 feet.
What makes this property unique
The house is located 1.5 miles from downtown Highlands and yet is secluded and relaxing with no neighbors in site. It has great internet run by cable to ensure quick functioning and reliability. after a few steps up into the house it is a one story home
