Such a wonderful and neat place to stay! Host was so responsive and nice. When the thunderstorm impacted the WiFi, she called the company and had it fixed before we even needed it. The architecture is very cool. Definitely would come back and stay there again.
Bettie was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout our stay. The cottage was clean, well maintained, and charming. Would absolutely stay here again.
It was a beautiful place to stay - definitely very cozy and charming. And Bettie was a spectacular host! She kept us really informed about music/events going on in the surrounding area, even after we left, and she offered for us to stay another night for a very good deal when we checked in very late due to some unexpected changes to our plans. She was very sweet and accommodating, and she was very responsive whenever we called or messaged her with questions. We would love to return in the future when it's cold so we can try out the fireplace, and we'd definitely recommend staying here to others!
Chalet Switz is a cozy and comfortable place for a couple or individuals to stay in Little Switzerland. Though a little off the beaten path, it has a well-appointed kitchen, seating, fireplace, and has magnificent views of the local area. It's very clean, comfortable, and the host is very experienced and makes your stay even better.
A friend and I had an amazing stay at the Chalet Switz. The home was incredibly cozy, interesting and unique, and the setting lovely. The living space is not large, but it truely felt like an escape from the busy lives we lead. The location was convenient to Little Switzerland and the Parkway, but far enough away that we felt like we had our own little secret hideaway. The wood burning fireplace - in a rental world that has largely moved to the banality of propane stoves - was truely special; evening conversation and morning coffee was always backlit by a fire in the fireplace. Finally, communication was great; all questions and routine back-and-forth got a quick and thorough response.
My partner and I enjoyed a blissful anniversary at Chalet Switz. We woke to a picturesque winter wonderland atop Grassy Mountain and spent our days in perfect coziness--especially by the fire in the chalet's inglenook. Our deep gratitude goes to Bettie for her thoroughness, generosity, and attention to the many details that made this trip so delightful. We hope to stay again and highly recommend to any solo or dual travelers seeking a homestyle retreat.
Fireplace was great, new heater upstairs helped heat the house evenly. Yard is great.

Thanks for being really great guests once again. Hope you had a good drive home.
Current guests just messaged "Hey Bettie, We are in and absolutely love this place! It has been perfect for our getaway. We got some good hiking in yesterday and went to dinner at The Tin Trout in Crossnore (it’s a great spot if you haven’t been). All is well here!"
Oh happy days on the Blue Ridge! Looking forward to your return some day.
We enjoyed our stay. The host was EXTREMELY communicative. She dotted every I and crossed every T. This a place of historic significance. It is at the top of the mountain, but that does not mean "views" or at least not all the time. With leaves on the trees, there were no views, so when you read the comments, consider the time of year where people mention amazing views. The property listing doesn't say it, so it's not misleading. This place is very nicely located, so if silence ( no road noise ), a basecamp, some place usual, and a great fireplace are on the list, look no further. It was super clean, and one of the most sturdily built of a structure you will ever stay in.
Wonderful location; beautiful chalet! This has become our anniversary getaway. There is a peaceful quietude and closeness to the nature of the mountains. We love it here!
Wife and I enjoyed our stay at this unique and quaint cottage at the top of the mountain. We wanted a quiet spot to relax and this was definitely that! Enjoyed reading the history of the area in the books on the shelf.
Serenity, sunbeams, and stones with stories. What a magical location. We had a hard time leaving the place to go out into nature—and given the nature nearby that is really saying something. We’ll be back!
On a whim we decided to take a weekend away. Great communication. Perfect for a couple getaway. Very quiet and relaxing. We would definitely stay there again.
This was the perfect place to get away from work and from people. We went during the off season and loved the ability to be alone in the clouds, lounging around a storybook cabin all day!
The Chalet Switz provided us such a wonderful space for our third wedding anniversary. The Blue Ridge Mountains hold a special meaning for me and my wife, and this chalet allowed us to enjoy our stay with true charm and beauty. We hope to return to this property as often as possible.
Such a cool place to stay. We enjoyed all the artistic pieces around the property and what a unique place it is. Very comfortable and cozy. We really loved our stay and exploring the Little Switzerland area.
The Chalet is a neat little place. Convenient to Little Switzerland, Linville Caverns, and gem mining adventures. Views driving up as well as from the Chalet are spectacular.Even in the aftermath of Helene, just a few months after the storm, it was completely accessible.
If you are looking for a different kind of stay, tucked away with beautiful views nearby, this place is for you. It is a great escape, with no distractions. A great place to unwind or reset.
