Now: onward!!
My husband and I are so pleased to share our home at the base of Prospect Mountain, with a view from the living room of Longs Peak. We hope your family can enjoy it as much as we do :) Long summer days end perfectly with a BBQ from the upper deck, and dark winter nights are made dreamy in front of our two fireplaces. We love sitting in our coffee area each morning and staring across the Estes Valley at the mountains of the National Park.
Our property is in a quiet residential neighborhood just outside of Estes Park's downtown district. We have lovely neighbors. It's a quick bike ride (1.4 miles) to nearby breweries and restaurants, 1 mile to the world famous 18 Hole Golf Course (voted as one of the prettiest public courses in the country), and about 3 miles to downtown. Mountain View Bible Fellowship is a few blocks away too.
BEDROOMS
The home has 5 bedrooms, a main floor king/master with an en-suite bathroom, a second king, and a third bedroom with two twins. The downstairs has a small queen bedroom as well as a room with two bunk beds, sleeping four.
BATHROOMS
We have three full bathrooms: one is upstairs in the master king suite, one is in the hallway next to the queen and twin bedrooms, and the third is downstairs near the bunk beds and small queen.
MEDIA ROOM & DEN
Our kids love our media and game room! We hope yours do too! It is full of board games, a gaming console, bean bags, a wood burning fireplace (bring your own firewood) and an air hockey table.
OUTDOOR LIVING
In the summers we have tables out for outdoor dining, but in the winter it's limited to a small table in the grilling area on the upstairs patio.
LAUNDRY & COOKING
Kitchen - The kitchen is fully stocked with just about everything you'll need to cook. Pots, pans, dishes, cups, wine glasses, mugs, cutlery, coffee maker, etc. We have a gas oven and stove, full size fridge, and tons of food storage for your crew.
Laundry - There's a laundry room with a washer and a dryer that you are free to use. Please do! I try to keep the detergent stocked but don't guarantee it, so it may be wise to bring a little of your own.
Guests will have access to our entire property, including:
- 5 bedrooms,
- a game room,
- 3 bathrooms
- a kitchen and dining area
- a living area with a small seating area
- a second living area near the kitchen with a huge couch
- a small upper porch
We have turned over day to day management to our friends at The Wolf Rentals. Nathan, Matt, Nancy and the rest of the team will be your primary points of contact. They're awesome!
This is a quiet neighborhood a few miles from downtown. You can actually walk out the front door and in about 10 minutes be at the trailhead at the base of Prospect Mountain. The trail winds its way up through a forested slope to the base of the Thumb and Needle, offering great views of the Estes Park valley.
DO NOT LEAVE FOOD IN YOUR CAR. Local bears have been known to get a little curious.
It's pretty easy to get around here, but if you want to take public transport, you can take a 0 minute walk to Marys Lake and pick up the free shuttle bus that runs around town. Please note that the bus only runs in the high season.
NO SMOKING, NO FIRES
The home and entire property are designated as no smoking due to high fire danger. If you wish to smoke even outside, this is not a good fit. Also note that wood burning fire pits and charcoal grills are illegal in Estes Park's vacation homes.
ROAD CONDITIONS
Roads in Estes are generally pretty plowed, even in winter, but if there's a huge blizzard, it may not be plowed exactly when you need it to be plowed. We cannot assist if you get stuck and we always recommend that people rent AWD or 4WD when visiting us from October to May. We are at 8,000 feet and this can be a snowy area!
NONPAYING GUESTS
Insurance forbids nonpaying and non-registered guests on property.
AIR CONDITIONER
Like nearly every other home in town, there’s no A/C. Thankfully mountain air blows down from the high peaks and will cool down the place quickly in the evenings if you open the windows.
BEARS
Do NOT leave food in your car! Bears frequent this area often and can break in!
MINUT
We use a Minut noise meter. It doesn't record audio, but instead monitors decibel levels, temperature and humidity. This is for the safety of guests & to protect the home. It also serves to warn us about parties & prevent noise complaints from neighbors. It's located on the cieling in the kitchen.
- No parties, smoking or events
- Check in 4pm or later; check out 10am or earlier
- 3 cars & 12 guests max
- On checkout, guests start a load of dishes & a laundry load of towels
- Outdoor fire pits are illegal
- Guests must abide by local noise & nuisance ordinances and not bother neighbors
- Understand we are in a neighborhood!
- 5 mins to downtown

What makes this property unique
We love our home because of its awesome views, proximity to the Thumb Open Space for hiking (it's just down the street), and the mid century modern vibe. We have a great location a few minutes from town and the National Park.
