Welcome to the Ponderosa Cabins. Established in 1939, this pet-friendly haven offers 17 charming, remodeled cabins on a quiet 2-acre property just minutes from downtown Glenwood Springs. We blend historic charm with modern comfort in our unique "Rustic Luxury" style.

The Accommodation: Cabin 2 "Hoss"
Perfect for couples or solo travelers, Cabin 2 features:

Sleeping: One Queen bed with fresh linens.
Living: A cozy sitting area with two chairs.
Kitchenette: Equipped with a small refrigerator, stovetop, oven, coffee machine (with coffee provided), and essentials (plates, cups, bowls) for two.
Amenities: Wi-Fi, Cable TV, and Air Conditioning.
Privacy: Your own private entrance and separate living space.
Location & Surroundings
Located off Highway 6 (parallel to I-70), the property feels like a remote mountain oasis while being incredibly close to local attractions:

2-3 mins: Iron Mountain Hot Springs & Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park.
3-5 mins: Downtown Glenwood Springs, Glenwood Hot Springs Pool, and the Amtrak station.
Walking Distance: Vic's Charcoal Burger, the iconic 1950s drive-through famous for burgers, shakes, and fries.
Future Plans: The property is preparing to host Western-style weddings and large family retreats.
Pet Policy (Strictly Enforced)
Pets are welcome! However, rules are strict to ensure comfort for all guests.

Fee: $20 per pet, per night.
Eligible Cabins: Pets are ONLY allowed in Cabins 1, 2, 3, 4, and 8. Bringing a pet to any other cabin results in immediate forfeiture of the security deposit and additional penalties.
Requirements:
Pets must be fully trained and restrained.
Must be on a leash anywhere on the property outside the cabin.
No unattended pets unless they are in a kennel.
Guests must clean up after pets in the neighborhood.
Excessive barking is prohibited.
Guests are liable for all damages or injuries caused by their pet and must indemnify the Host against related liabilities.

This was a very nice, small cabin with many thoughtful additions- nice sheets and towels, pretty decorations, very functional shower, stove, refrigerator, microwave, lighting and a parking place.

Easy and convenient for my wife and I not to mention cost effective. We enjoyed the day at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs then drove 5 minutes to our cabin for a good nights rest.

Yuck! Unsafe area, my dog was attacked by another dog there. Outside of cabins looks like termites have invaded. Kitchen faucet trickled out. Parking is tiny and there are tools and trash around everywhere. Front door had large gap when closed. Refrigerator didn’t work.

​Thank you for your feedback. We take our guests' comfort and safety very seriously. ​We were deeply sorry to hear about the scare with the dog outside. To clarify for future guests, an 8-year-old child walking a Chihuahua accidentally dropped her leash after a dog barked; no one was bitten or injured. Because we knew this was a highly stressful moment for you, we proactively chose to waive your entire $80 pet fee as a gesture of goodwill. ​Prior to this event, no maintenance or safety concerns were reported to us during your 4-day stay. Had we been notified about the faucet or refrigerator, our team would have addressed them immediately. We have since inspected Cabin 2, confirmed the appliances are working perfectly, and are actively addressing the front door seal. We wish you and your pup a safe journey home.

Great place

It was very clean and just a short distance to all the things Glenwood Springs has to offer. The only negative was out car was almost too big for the parking spot but we managed! Overall great place to stay
