Make memories at a unique family-friendly place. Evenson Heritage's Studio Retreat is a private, 150-acre nature preserve surrounded by water and wildlife. This historic Alaskan homestead is an all-inclusive resort with spacious rooms, amenities, and activities for groups, including fishing, boating, a small putting green, and a hot tub with a view of 2 lakes. The home is also rich in family history, having seen 3 generations of commercial fishermen and displaying the Evenson's stunning art. The space The lodge can be divided into three areas totaling 4,500 square feet of interior space. It features a common day area with a lounge, dining, and kitchen; four private rooms; a game/movie room; and private guest quarters. There is space for multiple vehicles or motorhome and boat parking, private entries, a small putting green, lakefront picnic, and gathering areas. In addition to the private rooms, there are additional spaces with beds perfect for families and groups wanting to share space. Guest access Guests have access to the whole home with exception of entering the garage. Guests are also asked not to enter the barn, which is separate from the home. Use of the lakes is allowed, with respect to rules such as no littering and no motors on one of the two lakes. Exploring the land and lakes is at your own risk and liability. Other things to note Before checkout, we ask guests to leave beds that have been used unmade, and dirty towels on the floor so that cleaners know easily what is clean and dirty. We also ask that guests do their dishes (leaving clean dishes in the dishwasher is fine) and take the garbage out to the provided cans.
We allow golfing on the putting green but ask that you be respectful, don't ruin property, and don't golf into the lakes.

The home was in spotless condition, and the hosts were extremely communicative. We had some very specific requests, and they were able to accommodate us, no problem. Needless to say, the area is gorgeous.Everything about this place is great...you won't be disappointed!
We were in Kenai attending a large family event. Nine of us stayed at the lodge and we had plenty of room to spread out. The beds were very comfortable, the view was magnificent and a couple of moose wandered through the yard as we were leaving the property, a true Alaska experience. I would definitely recommend this property to any large group.
This is our second time staying and we always have the best time. it’s perfect for our big group and everyone has a comfy bed. such a fun thanksgiving! The hosts are so kind and helpful!
This family property was a great place to stay and the information inside telling the history of the property was an added bonus. The lake access and game room were our family favorites. It’s a very large building with so many beds that you have lots of choices where to sleep.
Absolutely stunning property! We had the best time and would love to come back soon. Saw a few Moose come up to the cabin and an eagle. 10/10 would recommend!
This spot is awesome and the host was great! It's not far from town, but hid away in the woods between two lakes. The host has provided tons of activities and amenities on the property. We caught nice rainbow trout in Bishop Lake, loved watching the eagles, loons, and swans, and saw moose just down the road. Our kids loved it as much as we did. The house was comfy for our family of five but could easily handle a large group. We look forward to staying here again.
The location is beautiful and private. We enjoyed skiing on the lake and warmed up in the hot tub. The kitchen worked well for our group of 10 and we all enjoyed time together comfortably in the living room. The upstairs bedrooms are cozy and the downstairs is more camp style. The hosts are obviously still in construction mode downstairs, making upgrades to the old homestead.
Hosts Jennifer and Paul were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. We stayed during -25 degree weather and they even helped when some of our vehicles would not start.
I have nothing but praise for the Homestead. I had excellent communication with the host Jennifer from the beginning. She promptly answered all of my inquiries. It was very easy to get there. The access was excellent. When we pulled up to the house we were astounded by the beauty. It was a winter wonderland! Breathtaking!! We found our keys, entered, and just kept saying how gorgeous it was. There are large windows to take in the magnificent view. The kitchen was well-appointed with every gadget you could possibly ask for. There was a nice assortment of spices for our use. The hot tub was great and there were plenty of plush towels. The linens and pillows were very nice. This is a perfect setting for large groups and family get-togethers. There was plenty of room to spread out.
This is a fantastic place in every way. Last but not least. There is beautiful art created by the Evanson Family. I will definitely return!!
