Crystal Clear Water, Beautiful Sunrises and Quiet Tranquility

Located on the Western shore of Black Lake in Northern Michigan and boasting over 10,000 acres of fun. The flat sandy lake bottom is great for small children, approximately 2' deep at the end of the 40' dock. Sunbathe during the day and enjoy an evening bonfire. A large picnic table and propane grill are at your disposal. ATV trails are located a quarter mile from the house providing access to the State Forest. The fishing is fantastic... walleye, northern pike, perch, and panfish. The fly fishing is also worth exploring in the surrounding rivers. This family home is extremely clean and sits fifty feet off the water. The master bedroom has a new pillow top king bed, while the other bedrooms contain one double and four twins. Full kitchen with all the utensils, pots, range/oven, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, toaster, washer and dryer. Bed linens and towels are included. The premier Black Lake Golf Course is 3 miles down the road.

Enjoy the all sand lake bottom. A 40' private dock provides for easy access to your boat. Inside the home you will find everything you need to enjoy your stay. The home is fully furnished and includes all the kitchen accessories you will need. Gas stove, microwave, full size fridge and freezer ,washer, dryer, DVD player, WiFi, and TV with a streaming platform (Roku). You can enjoy every evening at the campfire in the front yard with a beautiful view of the lake. A picnic table with an umbrella, glass top table with chairs, and propane barbecue grill are ready for sunny outdoor lunches or dinner overlooking the lake.

Black Lake is a four to five hour drive from Detroit, four hours from Lansing, and four hours from Grand Rapids. It is approximately 45 miles SE of Mackinaw City and the Bridge.

This place was everything it was advertised to be. Beach was sandy and the water was clear and clean. The cottage was clean and well kept. The owner was very nice and the neighbors were friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Lake

We had a great time. Bob greeted us shortly after our arrival to make sure everything was okay. The water was shallow enough for our grandkids to play in without worry. It was very relaxing to sit at the firepit at the end of the day.

The house accommodated our family of 8. We wished that the beds were a little more accommodating, but we made it work. Bob was helpful from the very beginning, from things at the house to a flat tire we got on our trailer after a day in Indian River. Very knowledgeable and helpful with helping us learn the lay of the land. We highly recommend this property! Great hosts!

Great little getaway

We planned a last minute getaway and had a great time! The lake & property was beautiful. The neighbors also were very friendly! The property manager also came down to check on us to make sure all was ok! Only thing I would say is that the property does not have wifi and was a slight issue just because we have college students who had homework due. Also, the listing needs updated as their is no sandy beach area which we were looking forward to because we had littles. But overall great stay we definitely will come back! Thank you!

Great time at the lake!

We had a great stay. The lake is nice and shallow for kids to swim with a small beach. The cabin was as expected, a bit rustic and cpuld use some small repairs but overall would recommend and stay again. Checking in was easy and owner very responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great vacation!

Location location location

This quaint little home is in the perfect location for a family. It has everything you need to make it home for a week. My family really enjoyed the canoe, kayaks, fire pit, and grill. I would def stay again.

Cute Cabin

Overall we had a positive experience during our stay at this cabin. We did book last minute (booked on a Wednesday to arrive on the following Sunday). So, our experience may be different than others. Pros: Beautiful/clear water on the beach, the beach is only 50 foot from the house, shallow water, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, clean linens, easy check in/out, lots of room for sleeping, friendly neighbors, many items were provided (even though we brought our own just in case) Cons: the lawn was not mowed and the grass was quite tall, we cleaned the floors in the living room/kitchen because they were dirty (this could be due to us booking last minute), the beach had weeds on shore (didn’t bother us), and there were ants in the living room (not horribly but enough for us to notice). My spouse also noticed that the shower is leaking into the drywall in the bathroom. This didn’t bother us, but just something that will need to be fixed eventually. Again, some of these cons could be because we booked last minute. Overall, we had a positive experience and would book again.

2022 Fish Camp

Very comfortable cottage for our annual father/son fishcamp. Accommodated our group of 12 without any issues. Great lake views, sunsets and good fishing. Bob was extremely helpful and friendly, would definitely do it again.

We had 11 people in all. Plenty of room. Bob was great to work with. The water is shallow enough were we didn't have to worry about the little ones. We absolutely loved our stay.

Black Lake vacation

Arrived first night and was raining, changed to my swim suit to unload, before I was finished Bob (owner) was there under umbrella to make sure all was allright. Cottage was very clean and comfortable. A little cramped for 12, but used pull out sofa. Water was great, very shallow and grandkids had lots of space for swimming playing where water was not over there heads. Very quiet, even for 4th of July weekend was very relaxed, unlike most lakes with multiple speedboats and watercraft. Had poor weather day and was able to visit Ocqueoc falls which was close (20 mins) large table and another card table for indoor card games and puzzles. My wife and I would love to return
