About the host
Your host
I'm Jenny (she/her), a community social worker who has lived in the South for most of my life. I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities with my spouse. We're always looking for the best vegan and vegetarian dishes, coffee shops, live music, hiking trails, fun dive bars, and dance spots. We're happy to share local recommendations with you!
Why they chose this property
This is a family owned and operated property. The cabin shares two private acres with the host’s main house. The main house is located just below the cabin but still allows for plenty of privacy. Please see pictures for more details. The hosts live in the main house and are onsite to assist guests with any needs. We are committed to providing a safe space for all guests, in particular LGBTQ+ guests and guests of color. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe while traveling. You have a safe home here at our cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains!
What makes this property unique
The quaint town of Marshall, the county seat of Madison County, is nestled between mountain cliffs and the banks of the French Broad River, just 20 miles north of Asheville. Known as the town that is "one street wide and a mile long," Marshall’s Main Street is lined with original buildings including the 100-year-old Madison County Courthouse, as well as art galleries, music and dance venues, an old-time general store, shops with unique home decor and gifts, restaurants with local produce, and coffee and pastry shops. A quick walk or drive over the river takes you to Blannahassett Island, where you’ll find the historic brick school house which now serves as Marshall High Studios, a home to many artists studios. You may recognize Marshall from the Netflix series “The Peripheral”, which features much of downtown Marshall and local properties.
