Our stay was one of the most enjoyable hiking trips we’ve taken. The property was very clean and was surrounded by beautiful scenery. We were even able to take a little mini hike up the hill throughout the apple orchards! To make the area even better, the farmer’s market was right next to the property and had so many great quality items. We purchased strawberry rhubarb pie and fresh apple butter. The pie was our first attempt at rhubarb, and it was fantastic! Much to our surprise, we didn’t even need to purchase the apple butter, because when we got back to the property, we realized that there was a gift basket that included the same butter we ended up buying, kettle chips, apple chips, peanut butter cookies that were to die for. It was such a nice surprise. To put a cherry on top, the owners of this property were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
That being said, there are a couple things that could be improved with this property. The main thing would be the shower. It was difficult to get proper water pressure and I believe the hot and cold knobs are switched. Another slight inconvenience was the slow speed of the wi-fi, although I’m not sure if this can be improved considering the rural area of the property. There was also a fine powder that came out of the ice machine.
All things considered; this was an enjoyable stay. With a few modern updates, this could be a truly desirable property for those wanting to experience all that this area of VA has to offer.
