This was a lovely place to celebrate turning 60. Plenty of room to gather with the family. This was one of the best stocked homes i have ever stayed in. Next time we stay there we won't bring as much as we did. We had a great time and we would whole heartily recommend this place to stay.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We had a wonderful time hosting your Girls weekend and look forward to hosting you all again!
Nicely appointed, clean, and welcoming. Great communication with hosts. Location was peaceful and secluded, but close to everything! The info notebook recommended Mogul Mountain Pizza…we concur! Fun games for all ages, plus Smart TV/Firestick availability. Blue tooth speaker, movies. LOVED the wood burning stove—so cozy during our chilly stay. We had deer visit us and a couple of squirrels too. Overall great stay!Teeniest tiny issue was the 12” skillet needs replaced. Someone has scorched and scratched it undoubtedly trying to clean it. It does not work so great for cooking eggs as a result. We would definitely rent again!

Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you found the home clean and welcoming—providing a "peaceful yet close to everything" experience is exactly what we aim for and what we love about the chalet.
It’s great to know you enjoyed the local wildlife and the wood-burning stove; there’s nothing quite like a cozy fire when it’s chilly outside! We’re also so glad the info notebook led you to Mogul Mountain Pizza—it’s definitely a favorite of ours too.
We also want to sincerely thank you for the "heads up" regarding the 12” skillet. We take great pride in our kitchen amenities, and we’ve already ordered a high-quality replacement to ensure future guests (and you, during your next stay!) can cook the perfect eggs without any trouble.
You were fantastic guests, and we would love to host you again anytime!
I stayed here over Christmas with my husband and our three “kids” (16, 24, & 27). The house was big enough for everyone to have their own bedrooms, but we spent most of our time together in the great room playing board games, eating together, listening to music, watching movies, and enjoying cozy fire in the woodstove. There is a grocery store and great restaurants within a mile or two of the house, but we mostly cooked and ate meals at the house. We also enjoyed some easy hikes along the Salmon River, also nearby. The house was clean, and we had everything we needed to be able to enjoy our stay! The hosts were great about checking in to see if we needed anything, and were easy to communicate with. I would absolutely return to this lovely place!

Welches house
Looked nice on VRBO but very disappointing inside, had to clean counters, table, dishes, outside furniture etc before use, needs major updating, master bathroom has no toilet it’s in the guest living room 1/2 bath, it was hot outside when arrived but very cold inside house and heat was individually controlled wall space heaters, bed pillows and comforters did not feel/smell clean, no communication prior to arrival or after leaving about any concerns or info regarding the house or our stay,, very old inside and in need of new shower curtains, decor, everything, etc, and master sink has stained and discolored finish, kitchen is lacking many items, dishes sit out on shelf with dead gnats in the top ones,, towel rack upstairs is very loose from wall, overall would not recommend, not what was expected by description or pictures , the one good thing was convenient proximity to Mt. Hood attractions.

Thanks for giving us your feedback. We regret to hear that the house did not meet your expectations and find it as inviting as others have done. Due to the fluctuation in temperatures during this time of the year we can understand how the house may have been on the cool side. We keep the windows drawn during the summer to keep it cool which most guests have said they appreciate. We know that the bathrooms are a bit quirky and we list that out, however VRBO does not allow us to state two half baths but we do so in the picture descriptions. As for the cleaning issues, we will discuss with our housecleaners. We have never had issues in the past.
Thanks for letting us know about the bathroom towel rack we will look into it. We do send our guests a private note when they are checking in/out and answer any questions quickly but also balance it out with not wanting to overwhelm our guests with communications. I'm sorry if you did not receive them via the VRBO app.
One bit of feedback for any future stays. You said that only 2 people would be at the house, but 3 beds were used. It is a requirement of VRBO (and a house rule) to report the total number of guests staying as it is county requirement.
All the best!
Megan and Daniel
We headed out on our adventure a little earlier than expected and our host was so gracious to allow us to check-in early to drop off our stuff so we could go play in the snow with the kids so Friday was off to a great start. We arrived to find a beautiful home on a quiet street. The lock box was easily accessible and in we went to find a lovely home that was clean, well taken care of and ready for entertaining. We we're able to cook meals here access to dishwasher, washer and dryer and a beautiful wood burning stove. We played the board games that they had in the closet downstairs for hours on end and had blast! What a treat it was to enjoy your home it was very spacious warm and inviting! We went up to go cosmic Tubing on Saturday and back with no issues and again just had a lovely time. Check out was a breeze then we we're off and back home unfortunately sooner than anybody wanted. Thank you so much for opening up your lovely home to us and it would definitely be our first choice if we rentsd out again in the future adventures to Mt. Hood.

Meet Your Hosts: We are a family of avid Pacific Northwest adventurers who absolutely love exploring the Mt. Hood National Forest! As locals, we spend our spring and summer mountain biking at Sandy Ridge, cycling, hiking local trails, and paddle-boarding on the nearby alpine lakes. When winter arrives, you can find us skiing, snowboarding, and snowshoeing at Timberline, SkiBowl, and Mt. Hood Meadows. We want your stay at the Twinberry Loop Mountain Chalet to be unforgettable. Whether you are looking for the best family-friendly hiking trails, hidden paddle-boarding spots, or current Mt Hood ski conditions, please reach out to us! We love sharing our favorite insider travel tips and local recommendations to help you experience the very best of Mt. Hood.
Why they chose this property
The Perfect Central Location & Peaceful Mountain Vibe What we love most about the Twinberry Loop Mountain Chalet is its unbeatable location just off Hwy 26. Tucked away under a quiet canopy of trees, you enjoy total privacy while being within walking distance or a quick bike ride to local restaurants, bars, groceries, and shops.
Here is why our Mt Hood cabin rental is the ultimate base camp for your getaway: Car-Free Mountain Access: Skip the mountain traffic! We are located close to the Mt. Hood Express (Sandy Shuttle) to easily catch a ride up to Timberline for skiing, snowboarding, hiking, and mountain biking.
Golf & Spa Relaxation: Walk right over to the neighboring Mt Hood Oregon Resort to play the famous "Three Nines" 27-hole golf course, or book a relaxing massage and facial at the full-service day spa.
Day Trips Made Easy: Centrally located for regional exploring, we are just one hour from downtown Portland and one hour from the stunning fruit loops and windsurfing in Hood River and the Columbia River Gorge.
Nature at Your Doorstep: After a thrilling day on the mountain, nothing beats sitting out on our private back deck. Nestled under a peaceful grove of trees, it is the perfect spot to unwind, listen to the wild birds singing, and watch the local deer stroll quietly through the yard.
What makes this property unique
What Makes the Twinberry Loop Mt Chalet Truly Special: Unlike standard rustic mountain cabins that can feel cold, dark and cramped, our chalet blends authentic Pacific Northwest character with modern, sun-drenched space. The architectural centerpiece is our stunning, vaulted living room outdoor views of Huckleberry Mountain and natural light filled space.
What completely sets us apart on Mt. Hood, however, is the seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle. We feature a rare, fully fenced backyard sanctuary nestled under a towering canopy of trees—allowing your kids and dog to roam safely and freely while you watch grazing deer and wild birds from the outdoor entertainment deck.
Designed with group dynamics in mind, the clever layout offers a private main-floor master retreat for adults, while the expansive upstairs provides a dedicated secondary lounge and "kids' zone" for games and movie nights. From the cozy warmth of our crackling fireplace to the convenience of walking to local village bistros, our home offers the rare combination of total forest serenity and effortless mountain convenience.
