Cute, Small House
The view of the bay was beautiful. The porch was slippery, and we almost fell a few times. Pots and pans were dirty when we pulled them out of the cabinets, but other dishes that would be run through the dishwasher were clean. Don't worry about bringing wood for the fire pit or the fireplace; there is plenty in the shed. However, you do need to bring any spices you wish to use, including basics like salt and pepper.

Almost perfect getaway
This cabin is perfectly remote and surrounded by beautiful trees and water. I do agree with other reviewers that the listing should be changed so the pictures don't give the impression that you can get down to the beach. You can't but that really doesn't take away from the beauty. Aside from that, the place was mostly great. Only complaint was that most of the pans and dishes had to be washed before we could use them. Also, thank goodness I checked the water reservoir on the coffee pot before making coffee because it was filled with gross water that had several floaties in it. Ultimately, however, those were small inconveniences for such a gorgeous and private getaway!

Misleading and disappointing
Everything about this property suggested there was water access - the photos, the description (gentle slope down to the water) and one of the reviews - but when we arrived there was a sign beside the stairs saying the beach was off-limits (conveniently this sign was omitted from any of the photos). The only reason we picked this place was because of the beach for paddle-boarding and to let our dog cool off in 30-degree heat. Neither was possible due to the 4-foot drop at the end of the stairs, making it extremely dangerous (and apparently against the rules) for our dog to enjoy the water or for us to paddleboard. Ultimately we checked out a day early and definitely won't be coming back. The property manager and/or VRBO should take some responsibility to ensure their listings are accurate, which certainly wasn't the case here.

Perfect Family Getaway
This home is exactly what my family and I needed. A home that is secluded, in the forest, on the water, that is dog friendly, and has a spacious clean kitchen to cook in. All we wanted to do was relax, enjoy the scenery, and enjoy each other’s company and we sure did! We brought all of our supplies with us and stayed on the property for our entire trip. We had a great time making s’mores around the large fire pit (wood included), we brought our kayaks and ventured into the inlet during high tied, and explored the property and quiet neighborhood with the pups. A thing to note; the beach is filled with barnacles and not safe for long beach walks with dogs, but there are some soft sandy patches for the dogs to play on. Also, the beach in front of homes are private beaches/private property so you can’t walk far. Overall, I highly recommend staying in this home. For the location and value, it’s truely the perfect getaway. I hope to make this an annual trip with my family.

Dangerous & Dirty! We left early!
Dirty!!! The home was very dirty, inside and out. There was so much hair and crumbs on the floors, grime in shower, the vents had layers of filth built up on them. Live spiders inside the house and dead bugs in the windowsills. The exterior entrance and back door had spider webs. Dangerous!!! The wood deck has uneven boards creating a trip hazard with nails sticking up. There are bees swarming everywhere outside in the back yard by the fire pit and the back door. My 5 year old was stung 6 times, myself 3 times in less than 45 seconds walking from the back door to the stairs to go down to the beach. The stairs to the beach are not safe, the stairs stop short of a dirt slope that is hard to stand on because your feet slide toward the drop off and there’s not anything to hold on to. There is a make shift wood ladder you are supposed to use to climb down to the beach. The neighbor stopped us to tell us all of the beach is private, the rental doesn’t have permission to use the beach. Secondly, she warned us about the danger of walking on the beach because the oysters are razor sharp and can cut down to the bone. The sharp rocks and oysters can cut through shoes and dog feet. We booked this property to be able to walk on the beach and hangout by the fire pit. The listing is not accurate. It’s not safe for children. We left after two nights instead of staying the full time. Very disappointed!
