The view is phenomenal. It is so peaceful at White Rocks. If you need to unwind from this crazy world, book White Rocks. We loved waking up to the beautiful views out of the windows.

This is a truly special property whose history you can read about in a book in the cottage. Quintessential Maine woods meets coast with the most soothing water views all around. Rustic and cozy but perfectly comfortable. Having a pass to Reid State Park was a nice perk. Quiet and relaxing. Thank you, Mark and Gerry!

As advertised, a secluded cottage on the water at the end of the road with a private dock and all the amenities. Screened porch, large yard, deck with grill, great sunsets, and constantly moving water as the tides change from high to low. The owners are extremely nice and quick to respond to any and all questions. We had a water pipe issue and Mark had two truckloads of plumbers there quickly who took care of the problem in short notice. Mark and Gerry are wonderful hosts!

The River view was breathtaking. Every window had a water view. The screened in porch was our favorite. The leaf colors were an added bonus!

Nice place to relax

Really enjoyed White Rocks. Beautiful sunsets and watching the seals was wonderful. A number of towns nearby to visit as well. The negative was that there was no pass to Reid State Park as mentioned so that cost us an additional 100$.

As I explained to the guest who wrote this review, the previous guest mistakenly took the pass to Reid State Park with them when the previous guest checked out. I am reimbursing this guest for the cost of visiting the park for the week. I have acquired a replacement pass for the cottage so all future guests will have free access to the park.

Perfect Location!

Can't decide which is best – early morning walks and heron sightings and a quick ride up to Reid state park or late afternoon with beer or wine and appetizers overlooking the water, watching the sun set on the porch. Then repeating it all. We had a great week and can't wait to come back. The cottage is cute and very comfortable and has everything you need for a relaxing time!

Quintessential Maine Experience

Can’t say enough about how great it was to stay at White Rocks! We live in SC and drove up to visit family in the area. It was convenient to everybody and everything we wanted to do while also feeling very secluded and private. The dock was amazing for fishing and watching seal pods come in and out with the tide. The lawn was great for my boys to play frisbee and run around while we grilled dinner on the porch. If you’re looking for a classic coastal Maine experience White Rocks is it.

This little piece of heaven is a real find! White Rocks is a charming historic Maine cottage modernized “just enough.” Beautifully situated at the literal end of the road. Water views from most windows, screened porch facing nightly sunset over the river, dock access to river life (seals, egrets, cormorants, ducks, boats…), sun deck, well-appointed kitchen with sharpened knives (!), comfortable beds, surrounded by woods. I pinched myself every day for two weeks.I will say: if you’re planning to bring a dog, be aware that there is a leash law in effect everywhere and no pups are allowed on any beach in Maine from April to October. If I had known that, I would have left our dog at home and flown instead of driving for 2 1/2 days from Georgia!! Next time….Mark was a very responsive and helpful host. He knows the area well. Don’t miss the delightful and well researched history of every house on the road written by his mother that’s on a shelf in the dining room.I would love to return to this idyllic spot.

Peaceful

This was supposed to be a trip with my mom and our pups, but Mom had to back out last minute. So my deaf American bulldog rescue got to go on her first vacation White rocks cottage was absolutely perfect for our trip. Cozy and comfortable, it had everything we needed. There are several spots to relax with a cup of coffee or tea and watch nature- the dock of course, the screened in porch, or even just sitting on the rocks. We got to see chipmunks storing for winter, cormorants, seagulls, and even a seal or two. The pass to the local state park was a lovely addition and what a gorgeous beach that was. We were lucky in our trip timing because dogs were just being allowed on the beaches again! The cottage is exactly what I think of when I picture a Maine waterfront cottage-rustic and comfortable. I felt like we were welcomed into a family home I hope I have an opportunity to stay here again!
