This recently renovated cottage has a beautiful coastal vibe. Modern amenities come together with vintage accents such as shiplap, hemlock beams and original fireplace and chimney creating a quintessential Maine cottage. Large deck with outdoor dining and lounging and a large yard make it great for one or two families. The house is located two blocks from the town center so it is close to restaurants and shops.

The home was specious for 8 of us. Plenty of seating room and very comfortable. Easy walk to town to enjoy the restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again.
The house is amazing. Lots of space, almost all new outfitting and renovation done, easy to get anywhere you want to go. Totally furnished kitchen complete with things you normally would need to run out and buy (foils, oils, spices, coffee, etc.)We will definitely stay there again!
Our stay at the Coastal Cottage was exactly what we needed as a group of 5 adults. The location was perfect for our adventures around MDI and the house was in great condition! The small touches like having beach towels, extra blankets, coffee, laundry, etc. available made our stay even better.
Perfect home for family (or multi family). Nice inside space, clean and easy amenities. Great location, walking distance of town. Highly recommend for a stay in southwest harbor!
This house was lovely. The setting was relaxing and quiet. We were able to walk to some of the small local stores and bakeries nearby. Convienent location for accessing the national park and many local attractions. I cannot recommend this home enough. We would definitely go back!
The experience we had with Ingrid, the owner, was exceptional! The house was exactly as stated on the rental description. Southwest Harbour has some nice options for restaurants and is close to Bar Harbor. The updates made to the house were nice and fit the style. If I was going back, I would stay here again!
This home is very clean. We enjoyed our stay and love how cozy the place is. The kitchen is well equipped which was very helpful since we were there during off season and lots of restaurants were already closed.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Four Winds Cottage. The house was beautiful and Ingrid had thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We would definitely stay there again!
The house looked great. Newly renovated and lots of space for the kids to spread out. Beds were nice and location was great for Acadia. I’d definitely recommend this house!
We had multiple generations! Mostly family aged 6 weeks to 81 years old. Also had a couple who are best friends. We enjoyed our time together. The parents of the 6 week old already miss the fun and the built in babysitters
We had such a wonderful stay at this beautifully and thoughtfully decorated home. The hosts were very communicative and immediately reached out when it looked like Hurricane Lee might affect our stay. The house had everything we needed and was conveniently located with stores, restaurants, and a great coffee spot close by. The beds were very comfortable and the house was extremely quiet with plenty of off-street parking. I would happily stay here again if we’re back in this area.
The house is a real gem! So comfy and cozy. Wonderful for a gathering of friends and also provides private spaces. We just loved it and we felt right at home. The outside deck and seating add a nice space.
Easy access to all parts of Mt.Desert Island. Great restaurants nearby.
The host was easy to contact and respond. We really did not have any issues. Very clear information and instructions for the house were left as well as sufficient supplies.
We highly recommend this home!
Absolutely loved this 'quiet' side of Bar Harbor. Beautiful home, perfect for our family of 5 adults and 2 toddlers. Loved the porch fire pit a few nights, comfy beds, LOVED the lay out of this home, My only comment would be that the traffic on Main Street was a bit busier than I would have liked. I suspect the area has grown. We would definitely come back. Thank you Ingrid and those contributing to the prep for our stay!
We loved the overall, cute decor and the convenience of this home. It had everything we needed for a two day adventure in Maine. We cooked at home one night, and enjoyed playing games that were in the cottage. It was also close to pickeball courts - which we utilized twice in two days. Ingrid was very easy to communicate with and we will definitely reach back out when we return to this wonderful town. Clean, comfortable, convenient, and charming!!
I coordinated a group of photographers for a 4 day shoot in Acadia National park. I originally booked a property in another town but the host's terrible communication skill made me decide to cancel and look elsewhere. Fortunately I found this property and Ingrid. What a difference! Ingrid truly understands hospitality. Every question was answered with an hour. She provided area information about the park and local restaurants. She provided very complete instructions for check-in and what was provided on property. The property is right on Main St. in Southwest which is on the quiet side of the island. The property was absolulely immaculate, hospital clean. We had 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well stocked kitchen all the essential tools. There is plenty of room to gather between kitchen, dining room, living room and TV room but also some separation to hang in smaller areas. The deck is large comfortable. The house is decorated very nicely with coastal art and artifacts. After the false start with the first property, Ingrid's professional demeanor and attention to detail to make sure we had a good stay was greatly appreciated. Having spent 18 years in the hospitality industry, both Ingrid and the property would get an 11 in the 1 to 10 rating scale. I highly recommend this property and host. Southwest Harbor is a great base of operation for an Acadia visit if you are looking for fewer people and a small town feel.
