House was clean and roomy. Nice backyard and deck area to enjoy the outdoors. Well located for Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Very quiet and peaceful.
We had a wonderful stay in Becky’s home. It was so peaceful and private. Becky was an excellent host - very communicative and immediately available to help with anything we needed. If we ever return to Maine we would love to stay here again.
Everything was perfect about this house! It was well stocked, super clean, and in a great location! Check in and out was incredibly easy the host had everything we needed ready and waiting for when we arrived!
Had a wonderful time for the Fourth of July weekend! Just a short drive to Acadia and the spectacular views. Property was super clean and the backyard was perfect for our group. Would absolutely stay again, thanks Becky!

This house had everything we needed for our stay including toys and book for my grandkids. We were a few minutes from Acadia which was so convenient and there are several local places to eat which were all amazing. Becky was an excellent communicator before, during and after our stay which was great
Becky was a kind and responsive host and answered all of our questions! We had an excellent time staying here and would recommend!

Thank you so much for choosing Journeys End. Would love to have you come back next year. Love being able to meet all my guests and help in anyway to make your stay as amazing as it should be. Thanks again Becky
The space is large and our family of four had plenty of room. Our younger child particularly enjoyed the toys that were available and there is space for everyone to have downtime after a day spent hiking in Acadia. The house is close to a number of "quiet side" sites, including the Wonderland trail, Bass Harbor Lighthouse, and Long Lake.
Great location to explore Acadia NP and the surrounding areas. The house is clean and comfortable with everything you need. It has tons of toys, books, and games for kids. The best part of the rental is the host. Becky is great. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.
Great place to stay with kids! Full of toys and children's book. The house is a little old but well maintained. The location is just 20 minutes away from the National Park visitor center.

Thank you so much for staying at Journeys End. Hope you had an amazing time at Acadia. Becky
We had a great time. She was a wonderful host. She goes above and beyond to not burden vacationers with chores and rules for renters. The area is fantastic for visiting Acadia and getting to relax at night.

Thank you …. I believe that you and your family are on vacation until you get back home so I don’t believe in check out rules.. it is hard enough to pack up on that last morning to head home. I would rather you sit , drink your coffee and enjoy the last few hours before you start your journey home. We can take care of the chores….thank you and have an amazing winter Becky
Check in process easy, host was very helpful and gave good tips on local spots to eat, swim and hike. Left the kids a sand bucket and smores kit as well as a toy for our dog!

We visited in the fall, to see the autumn colors and visit Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Everything was wonderful! The house was close to the sights, very comfortable, had everything we needed, and provided great advice on nearby restaurants, etc. I would highly recommend!

Thank you so much for choosing Journeys End for your vacation to the Island. Amazing guests and a very adorable dog….I hope you will come back and stay again in the future.
Thanks again Becky
Quiet. Roomy. It served our purpose. The back deck and yard were nice. Unfortunately, the weather did not allow us to take advantage of it. There were some items that would have been nice to have that were not available. The host was very friendly and responsive to our needs. I would highly recommend the property.
The house had plenty of room for family of 4, very cozy beds and within minutes of Thurstens and Seafood Ketch. Close to Southwest Harbor for breakfast and dinner. We loved Acadia and all it had to offer and enjoyed the quiet when we returned to home base for game night and movies. Dining area and two living rooms enabled the family to enjoy all the comforts of home. Our dog was welcomed too. I vowed not to cook this holiday but saw there was a well equipped kitchen and laundry if needed.

We had a fabulous time. This is a perfect home for families. Very private, toys for the kids, beautiful backyard. Bedding was new and super comfy. We even had a cute orange kitty come and say hi. Hosts were so great! They even had a cute smores bucket for us.

Thank you for staying with us., we try to make your stay quiet cozy and one of the best experiences we can offer. The cat is a bonus as he loves everyone and loves to greet each guest as they come. So glad you loved the S’mores bucket we hope you will stay with us again. Becky
My fiancé, her German shepherd and I spent 3 wonderful days staying here. We had events to attend in Bar Harbor each day but wanted a cozy place a bit removed from that touristy hub. The location was ideal. A 10-block walk from an isolated cove, a 6-mile drive to a beautiful lake with public access and a canoe rental group across the road, and about 30 minutes to Baa Haabaa center. We also highly recommend the lobster/crab shack less than 2 miles down the road.

Loved having you here and your dog was adorable. Glad you loved the spot. The beach down the road does have the most amazing sunsets and is very quiet and Hodgdon’s crab shack has amazing seafood. Thank you and have an amazing winter. Becky
My family and I had a nice stay. The property is nicely wooded and felt secluded. Close enough to the main Acadia attractions that we went each day, as well as to the closer (less busy) parts of the park. The house was clean and had nice new linens. The smaller bathroom toilet was not working, but otherwise the listing was accurate. Easy check-in and check-out and the host was readily available.

So glad you stayed at Journeys End. All my guests have been amazing and I have enjoyed meeting each of them. Please come back and stay with us again. Have an amazing winter. Becky
We recently stayed for a visit to Acadia and overall had a nice time! The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated. The home itself is older and shows its age in a few areas. With one full bathroom, the shower tended to run cold after 2 people showered, and the shower drain needed to be held down in order to work properly. We also noticed the water had a bit of a metallic smell. That said, the space was comfortable and we still enjoyed our visit. With a few updates, this place could really shine. Thanks again to the host for being so attentive!
Great cozy house with all a family needs. 1.5 bathrooms, laundry, backyard with fire pit. Kids loved it. Two tvs let kids watch one and adults watch another. Nice proximity to Acadia, Bar Harbor and other cute little towns. Property owner was so nice and helpful. We had a great stay as a family of 4 with one child age 8 and one age 5.

So glad you loved the house. I have been here for over 30 years and raised my children here. Now my grandchildren enjoy the property. It is safe and a great yard for kids and pets.. Thank you and please come again we would love to see you again. Becky
The property was just as described. Becky was a wonderful host. She stopped by on the second day to greet us and see if we needed anything. There were a couple of kitchen items we desired. She brought them over in less than two hours. Highly recommended.

Thank you….loved having you here and we try really hard to make you feel as at home as possible. I was born and raised here so I try to share the best spots on the island with my guests. Thank you and please come again. Becky
This property is not ready for rental and should not be on VRBO. A bare lightbulb greets you at the front door (there are more of the same throughout the house). The inside smells of mold and mildew and there is evidence of it in the bathroom, along with rodent or insect damage on the cabinets.
No lamps, throw pillows, blankets, or anything that invites you to linger. Several windows are missing screens and have to stay closed so bugs won’t get in. There are missing closet doors, broken ceiling light fixtures, broken cabinet drawers, and rusted baseboard heaters falling off the wall. There’s a bulldozer in the front yard, conveniently missing from the photos.
Our many previous rental have included various spices, condiments, storage containers, and paper products. Not here. I messaged the owner for a dish towels, plastic wrap, and a cutting board, and her sister showed up with one of each and a dirty sponge—for a 4-day booking. The kitchen is barren—one skillet, 1 pot, and a few utensils, along with one dull knife.

Well, if you suffer from high self confidence and start to feel like you are delivering a successful experience - this guest will certainly keep you grounded. Unfortunately, this home and guest were not a great fit, but the comments are not entirely accurate. The pictures and description accurately reflects the home. The home is clean, mold, rodent, and insect free, and warmly greets guests. It is also professionally cleaned at every changeover. I am lightly stocked, but have the basics and would always try and accommodate more if needed. In fact I did have the additional items delivered within 10 minutes of a 9pm request, and said I would check in again with her in the morning- however, I don’t think there was a goal of reaching collaboration. Given the string of event's ( that I won’t repeat here )I knew that this experience would probably lead to a bad review, but not everyone is fair. I hope you see my other reviews, and I will continue to deliver a great experience at a fair value. I am very sorry that this guest left feeling this way, and more sorry that she never spoke to me during this experience. I wish it could have been better for them.
