Location was prefect for our 2 week stay. The house was comfortable and everything worked as described. The internet was a little spotty, but worked great for streaming tv (video calls were a little less reliable). Overall we would definitely recommend this place.
From the moment we stepped into Loon Cove Cabin we felt at home. Everything we needed was there, but more than that, the decor and extra attention to detail made this a wonderful vacation. The loons called to us, the lake was crystal clear, and the cabin offered comfortable places to sit, read, and relax. We already booked next year!
We had a wonderful stay. The cabin was cozy and clean. The lake is beautiful. My kids had a great time swimming, fishing and kayaking. We were close enough to Ellsworth and Bar Harbor to enjoy visiting them each day and then we would retreat back to the cabin that was peaceful and serene away from downtown. Thank you so much Jen and Blair! We will definitely be back again
I miss the weekday quiet of the lake. The house was clean and homey, everything you need i right there.
Kayaking on a clear mirror like lake in the morning was great. The call of the loons is music to the ears.
Schoodic point 40 minutes away.
NO phone service was a a great break from this busy world.
The location is amazing. The house is perfect size for a family. The owners have supplied everything you can think of from kayaks, floats, fishing poles and lobster pots. Everything is very clean and decorated nice. The water is crystal clear and clean a beautiful Maine lake. It’s nice there is no cell service or WiFi it gives a chance to disconnect. We will be back to rent from again. Thanks for a wonderful trip. The Cunningham family.
Loon Cove Cabin is great place to vacation. This is the second year we have vacationed there. Clean, stocked and off the beaten path for a great place to unwind and reconnect with family which is exactly what we were looking for. There is no cell phone service near the cabin. We went during the 3rd week of July, and the only detraction from Loon Cove Cabin is the neighbors on both sides had some large groups visit some days and the weekend overnights which can detract from the solitude, quiet, and bird/animal watching. My teenagers loved the water trampoline, swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The pingpong table was also a hit. Ellsworth is only about 30ish minutes down the road, and I would recommend taking a stroll on the downtown Main Street - it was lovely with great shops and cafes.
My group and I had an amazing stay! The water was beautiful and it was so nice to hear the loons every morning. The only downside was no wifi, it was hard to plan trips/ outings when we could not look up direction/ distance. We would definitely come back!
I recently visited Maine with my husband, 10 year old son and dog and we loved our stay at loon cove cabin! The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We used the kayaks and fishing poles and left some tackle behind for the next people who enjoy fishing 😊. The view of the lake from the house is breathtaking. The clear water of the lake was wonderful. The cabin is a short drive to bar harbor and schoodic. We didn’t mind staying in the more remote area away from crowds. Check in/out was simple and the directions Jen provided to get to the cabin were perfect. This was one of our best vacations!
Home was secluded, but had neighbors on both sides that were close. Ellsworth Main St. is at least a 30min drive away. Home is older and it shows, but was clean. Lake was so clear and pretty. Be prepared with bug spray, lol! No A/C in the cabin, so it was very hot inside during the middle of the day. Ants were in bathroom and kitchen. Absolutely no cell service or WiFi within miles of cabin/area (we have Verizon). Beds were old and lumpy-the twins in downstairs bedroom had boards underneath the mattresses to provide more support, so none were very comfortable. Did have kayaks and life jackets. There is a Ping Pong table, but balls were broken or had holes in them, except one. Jennifer was wonderful with prompt communication and providing ideas for our visit.
We loved our week at Loon cove Cabin - and we did hear some loons! The cabin is very clean! and not cluttered. It is very comfortable - places to sit and read. The dock was so nice - you can sit out on the water. The views are very nice. We liked being able to use the kayaks. Hiking is nearby, both at Tunk Mtn and Caribou Mtn. No cell service or wifi. The days are longer without both! Definitely a place to unplug and unwind. We hope to return.
My wife and I had a great time at the cabin. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a great stay. The lake was beautiful, and having 4 kayaks at our disposal was just great. Acadia and Schoodic are close enough for awesome day trips, as are so many more 'local' Maine natural wonders. Overall, a great and relaxing stay. We'll be coming back for sure.
Beautiful views from the dining room so you can enjoy the view while eating or putting a puzzle together. The lake is great for all stages of swimmers and it is crystal clear. House was great. It was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. There was no need to contact owners with any issues. We did however get great tips on fishing, shopping and eating from the owners. Check in was so easy and checkout was easy and smooth. Loved our first trip to Maine and will definitely recommend to others. Very comfortable and welcoming home with great owners.
We stayed a week with six family members. The home had a comfortable and cozy cottage type of feeling to it, and it is located away from the tourist attractions related to Mt. Desert Island. We loved the dock and crystal clear water, the fire pit that overlooks the water and mountain view, and the games/ping pong table/darts and trampoline. We made memories to last a lifetime! Noteworthy is that we all could not get cell phone reception at the house, but we didn’t mind. As soon as you drive down the road, you can get service (and mid-lake lol) and there’s also a landline. Loved it!!!
We had a wonderful week at the cabin! Perfect for a family with teens and dogs! The lake was very private and quiet and clean! Cabin had all we needed our could have wanted- the best place we have stayed for sure!
We so enjoyed the quiet and setting of this cabin. The highlight of our trip was sitting by the bonfire and enjoying the beauty of lake at different times of the day. The mist in the morning… the reflection of the trees in the early evening… gorgeous! This is definitely the place to stay if you’re looking for a getaway from the distractions of daily life. The location was amazing in terms of setting and the actual property- but do note that it’s almost an hour away from Acadia and about 20 minutes from the closest town. It’s totally doable, but does make for a good deal of driving. All in all, our stay was perfect- Jennifer and Blair were great hosts!
This was our second time visiting the cabin and it was epic! This was an excellent experience in the cabin. There were plenty of games and outside activities to do as a family while we were there. The view was beautiful and there was lots of opportunities to bond as a family.
We had such a great week here! While the teens weren't excited about the lack of wifi and the lack of cell service made planning challenging, the house made up for it in so many ways and we made it work. The lake is pristine, beautiful, and mostly quiet. Having the whole opposite shore being wilderness was so special. The kids especially loved the trampoline float, the sandy-bottomed swimming area around the dock, and the easy layout of the house. We took day trips to MDI and Schoodic as well as Ellsworth and Millbridge, but there really is nothing close by to speak of. We went ahead and bought a fry pan to make life easier- while the kitchen is well-equipped, it has the standard rental house kitchen tools which are generally challenging if you want to do more than boil water and grill. That said, when we ran out of propane, there was more on the property and Jen answered her phone immediately when I called, there were paper products on hand, extra sheets, washer dryer... it was a very easy week four our family of five to enjoy ourselves. Thank you Jen and Blair!
We enjoyed every moment. It was truly a place to be able to disconnect and relax! House is immaculate, roomy and every detail had been thought about. The lake was quiet and clean, we had a blast on the raft, in the kayaks, fishing and playing ping pong. The dining room table became puzzle and game central, and I read 3 books!
A truly get away from it all vacation !!! Highly recommend!
