This review is inaccurate and follows a declined request for a large post-checkout refund. Here are the facts regarding our property: 1. Property and Law: Under British Columbia regulations, short-term rentals must legally be the host's primary residence. Our fully licensed property strictly complies. Per platform standards, this is a completely private suite featuring its own exclusive entrance, private bedrooms, private bathrooms, a full kitchen, and no shared indoor living spaces. The building-standard adjoining door is deadbolted and securely locked. 2. Neighborhood and Yard: The person in the backyard was not a stranger, but my husband, the property owner, maintaining his own garden. No one was watching the guests. The only reason we checked the driveway was out of sincere courtesy and concern because the guest's vehicle leaked a large amount of motor oil onto our concrete. 3. Our Hospitality: During their stay, we kindly notified them of the vehicle fluid leak for their own safety and even provided protective sheets so they could continue parking comfortably. After they checked out, my family spent several hours of hard manual labor scrubbing the driveway, and we chose not to charge them any property damage fees. We are deeply disappointed that our hospitality and waived maintenance costs were met with this review. We look forward to welcoming respectful guests to our home.
