The space Enjoy the vibrant energy of the University and downtown from the comfort of our clean rock home, which is decorated with unique art and details, such as a handmade local pine log bed, Mexican wood furniture, Navajo weavings and local fine art. It is our family's Southwest haven and we know you'll love this home and all it and Flagstaff has to offer!
On the first floor, you’ll find a cozy king bedroom with a premium Sealy Posturepedic mattress, luxury bedding, and a full bathroom with tub/shower and all the amenities (towels/shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion). Upstairs there are two bedrooms— one comfortable queen with a desk, and one with two twin beds with a pack and play available— and a second bathroom with a shower and essentials. In the basement is the game room with an arcade game, foosball, and an additional large-screen Roku TV, as well as a separate laundry area with washer/dryer.
In the spacious, private backyard you'll find a private 6-person hot tub available year-round, a patio with Adirondack chairs, and a seasonal fire pit and charcoal bbq (availability depends on fire restrictions), and a large area for relaxing, playing, or just hanging out. We provide lots of board games, books, and toys, too. Park on-site in a driveway that can accommodate two cars. Great for families with kids or adults looking for a nice place to stay.
We provide plenty of comfortable bedding, towels, essentials, and all the kitchen amenities including pantry supplies, snacks, and more, to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Our home is available for short getaways or longer stays, and is the perfect location when visiting NAU campus or downtown Flagstaff. It’s also a convenient launching point to the mountains, a little over 20 minutes from the chair lift at AZ Snowbowl (or just 14 minutes to the Basecamp parking lot where you can hop on a shuttle in winter to take you up the switchbacks). Endless trails are located within walking distance or a short drive from the house, too.
There is plenty to see and do right in Flagstaff, but if you're looking for adventure, the Grand Canyon is just a little over an hour away, and the beautiful red rocks of Sedona less than an hour. Oak Creek Canyon is only 30 minutes away, a scenic creek with lots of spots to explore. As Flagstaff locals, we know all the insider places to visit, explore, hike, dine, and shop, which we provide in our guidebook— and are always available for other recommendations or questions during your stay!
Other things to note Self checkin: There is a lock code for accessing the front door to make check-in easy, so you can arrive anytime after check-in and come and go easily. Code will be sent a few days before your stay.

As noted in the description, this home is unique in that it is located downtown and right next to NAU campus. Because of its prime location and proximity to campus and students, the neighborhood is lively and there may be noise in the area at times.
The hot tub is available 24 hours a day, year-round for guests to enjoy. We ask guests to treat the hot tub kindly and use with care. Always supervise children around the hot tub and use at your own risk. Please rinse off before use. More instructions for hot tub use are provided upon booking.
We have a strict NO parties or gatherings policy at our house. No guests are allowed beyond the number listed on the reservation. There is a $100 extra per person fee if you have beyond 6 with approval from hosts.
This is a NON-SMOKING home. No smoking on the property, inside or out. One pet may be accepted with an extra $150 fee, and must be included on your reservation at the time of booking. Pets may not be left unattended in the house or yard at any time unless crated. We are happy to provide recommendations for pet sitters or pet daycare if you plan to be gone for an extended period. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. Any additional cleaning needed or pet damage may result in an additional charge.
Heating/Cooling: The house stays comfortable in winter due to an efficient heating system, and space heaters are available in the bedrooms upstairs. There is no A/C, but ceiling fans and portable fans are provided if needed in the summer. The house stays fairly cool during summer due to the nature of the rock walls. Flagstaff temperatures are usually mild in summer.
Crib: if you are staying with an infant, there is a pack and play and sheet available in the upstairs twin bedroom closet. Baby gates are provided to keep a young one safe in a room but please note that they will not fully cover the stairs so please use caution if you are staying here with young children and watch them around the stairs.
Please use caution on the stairs and walkways. There are several steep steps to access both the front and back door, and it being an historic house there are some cracks in the walkways and patios as well as uneven pavement around the property. Snow and/or ice may be present in the winter months and surfaces may be slippery— please watch your step!
Please note that we are not responsible for any items left behind. There may be an additional $50 fee plus shipping if found items are sent back to guests to cover our housekeeper's time to pack and ship any items.

Great Family Home!Central Flagstaff, north edge of campus.Easy walking distance to great restaurants, breweries, coffee shops and bars on both sides of Historic Route 66.We recommend highly! :-)
Great location en route to Grand Canyon and close to 5 National Memorials worth exploring while in Arizona. House is adorable, clean, and comfortable. Plenty of room for our family of 4 to spread out. We enjoyed the hot tub after our Grand Canyon hiking and appreciated the short walk to restaurants. Laundry room super helpful and kitchen stocked with coffee and munchies (and even a bottle of wine) was a nice touch!

Thank you for your review, Karen. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and would love to welcome you and your family back again!
Overall a very nice stay; clean, comfy, supportive mattresses, well organized kitchen. We were so busy we didn’t have the opportunity to use the hot tub or grill in the rear yard. I will note that the front and rear steps are old and narrower than you might be used to, watch younger kids if traveling with them. Parking was a breeze and the property is easy walking distance to coffee, breakfast, shopping. Recommend Stella Italian for lunch/dinner as well as Josephines for dinner. Macey’s for breakfast/ coffee. We really enjoyed our stay and Flagstaff was an easy drive to GCNP and Sedona.
Really enjoyed staying at this Vrbo. You can tell the owner really cares and puts in the extra effort. The hot tub was nice to relax in. It was close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Didn’t notice any outside noises during our stay.
Perfect size and location for our family of 5. The neighborhood was quiet despite being right next to NAU campus. The driveway parking was perfect and our family loved the hot tub. The host responded very quickly to messages and the property was clean and well maintained.

Great 3bd property. Stayed with father and sister in law to visit our daughters at NAU. The last visit before graduation. Wonderful time, incredible location and great property.
LOVED this home! Owners have amazing taste in art and decor, and attention to detail was appreciated (bottle of wine for travel-weary parents, snacks for hungry kids). Proximity to downtown and NAU can’t be beat. We were able to walk to restaurants and shops. This is our new “Happy Place” and we hope to return again soon. Thank you!
We had a great weekend visiting our daughter in Flagstaff. This house is beautifully decorated, well stocked and had plenty of space for our family. We mostly appreciated the location, close to downtown and right next to the NAU campus. We will certainly stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying here! Perfectly located to all the great spots in Flagstaff. And the house is so fun with the game room. And it’s very clean! One thing to note is that the twin beds’ mattresses are very firm, so our kids ended up sharing the bigger bed in one of the extra rooms bc that mattress was more comfortable. But highly recommend and would stay there again!
Hi! We're Lucy and Jason. Lucy is an art history professor and Jason runs a solar company. We have two boys (7 and 9) and we enjoy spending time in the mountains and at the beach. Our family is into mellow and relaxing getaways with a touch of outdoor adventure. We recently converted our home in Flagstaff into a vacation house have been enjoying hosting guests. We love to offer local recommendations for great restaurants and things to do as well as outdoor activities so you can enjoy your stay. Cheers!
