Stunning executive home with a south facing screened in-ground pool overlooking the 2nd hole of the Southern Dunes Golf Course. Only 13 miles from LEGOLAND and 22 miles from WALT DISNEY WORLD MAGIC KINGDOM, this is the perfect place to relax after a busy day at the parks. Impeccably maintained, our villa features upgraded furniture, electronics, mattresses and flooring. Southern Dunes is a gated golf community that prides itself on the quality of its golf course and the security and beauty of its homes.

Kick back and relax after a busy day at the parks in our private, screened south facing pool and patio overlooking the 2nd hole of the Southern Dunes Golf Course. Our fully furnished patio, complete with retractable awning and Weber barbeque, provides a great place to enjoy the sun, your meals, drinks, and beautiful evening sunsets.

Our villa is located in the gated community of Southern Dunes Golf & Country Club, which is an immaculately kept, secure complex that maintains a 24/7 manned entrance gate, making this a safe place to stay. Southern Dunes also features community pools, tennis courts, fitness center, lake, children's play area and library that our holiday guests can enjoy. This is a quiet, family oriented community.

Great location

Southern Dunes is a great location for golfers as well as people wanting to go to Disney...It is out of the I 4 corridor so there is no need to go there into traffic. The house is well maintained,has a great BBQ and pool area an de is perfect for a small family. I would come again !!

Used as a hub for sea world, shopping outlets and Disney. Depending on traffic usually 25-30 min from Magic Kingdom and Sea World. Convenient Walmart next to neighborhood. Nice golf course but didnt have a chance to play.

Thank you Danielle and Kevin. We totally enjoyed our stay. Neighborhood was quiet and very well kept. The home was immaculate. The only compaint I have is that you can not adjust the thermostat lower than 74 so when we cooked it got a little hot in the house. Other than that everything was perfect. Close to all the attractions and area beaches. Looking forward to our next stay- hopefully February .

Comfortable stay with a small pool and on golf course

It was about 15 minutes from our wedding location. Well maintained and comfortable for 6 adults. The only downside was the small amount of soap, garbage bag, TP. Now yes it was in the notes but really can not get too far with a travel soap bar that could not get you past the first night. I would definelty recommend staying here . Price was great. One of the nicest golf course I have played in Florida.

Excellent Rental!

The house is in GREAT shape and VERY clean! The Owners are very responsive and helpful - really friendly too. The home was very comfortable (including all the beds), and had everything you could want or need. The area is safe and quiet - the traffic to the parks is nasty but that's "normal" for the Orlando area. It looks like they are working to improve the HWY to the parks but let's be clear, the traffic would not stop me from renting in Southern Dunes. It is paradise. I would not hesitate recommending this home to others and we will be back! Thank you Danielle and Kevin for sharing your home with us! A tip for those who are new to renting homes...this isn't a hotel, it's a home so it's up to you to provide garbage bags, toilet paper etc...the starter pack provided in this home was more than sufficient until we could get our own, (this is standard home rental protocol).

Great place, great rental experience

This was our first HomeAway/VRBO rental and the experience was fantastic. We had a different rental inquiry fall through, and when I began communicating with the owners about this property, it instantly felt more professional and comfortable--things noticeably missing with my other inquiry. The house was exactly as described and the check-in process was also exactly what we were told to expect. The furniture and beds were comfortable and clean, and the decorations were simple, making it a good house for families with small children (like us) who don't want to be worrying constantly that their kids will break something. The weather was decently warm for April when we were there, so we were able to enjoy the pool in the evenings. We had one small hiccup during our stay, which was a smoke detector that began to chirp for a new battery. We left a message for the property managers, and by the time we returned from our day's excursion, the problem had been fixed. While we stayed there, we took the kids on a long-awaited trip to Legoland. We took a couple other days to explore some things in the area, and really enjoyed Bok Tower Gardens. Another excursion we did that was a real hidden gem was Polk's Nature Discovery Center. If you want to see real Florida wildlife in a not-too-wild setting, this is great. We followed one of the trails (which our 8 and 5yo boys handled walking) and had a 'gator spotting contest. (We found eleven.) And after seeing lots of other reviews about it, yes, we had to try Manny's. Yes, it's that good. Tons of really great food, great service, and they have a "kids eat free" night, which is a wonderful bonus when traveling with three hungry boys. So overall, we are very happy with our stay at Play Under the Palms Villa. Highly recommended and if we ever travel back to the area, we will definitely look into it again.

Basically all the other reviews are accurate. Beautiful place, perfect setting. Not too many amenities in house when you arrive. Maybe leave things like salt, pepper, etc from prior guests? Additionally, the times listed to the Parks are a little low. If you can make in the times listed...I don't want to ride with you :). Stay with confidence, it's nice.

Fun in the Sun at the Dunes

This property/villa was everything we expected and more. On our arrival to Florida the temps were a little chilly the first day or so but sunny. We really enjoyed the heated pool once the outside temp warmed up. The golf course view was beautiful. (We don’t golf but so pretty) the grounds are meticulous with flowers everywhere. The owners were quickly responsive to any questions. A great location. Close to shopping, groceries, restaurants (including the clubhouse) and of course all the Disney / Legoland (which we weren’t interested in) are all close by. Definitely a five star stay. Good times!

Property is just like advertised. Very clean and very nice amenities. Just a couple issues. There was only one extra trash bag, no extra towels, no extra toilet paper, no paper towels, no dish soap. So if you’re going to be there for a few days, you better bring your own or you will be going to the near Walmart to get these items.
