This was a wonderful home situated in a fantastic location with access to the local pond and an easy drive to truckee river or lake tahoe. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house has plenty of games on hand if you dont bring any. The house itself was clean and comfortable and we would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful home, great location, well appointed, clean and comfortable, great family retreat! Location is one of the best in all of Lake Tahoe, Five Lakes Hike near by and private pond with Beach/lawn area with back drop of Alpine Meadows Mountains is stunning.
Everything was wonderful! Our family had rented the house when it was previously owned and now the kitchen has been remodeled!!!We will definitely rent again, we love Bear Creek!
Very comfortable, family-friendly spot. Swimming pond with grass and beach particularly welcome during our 90 degree stay. Amy was immediately responsive to all our questions.

Clean and very spacious. My overall experience was amazing and again can’t say enough.
Amazing place and everything was close also like river rafting, hiking trails, bicycling etc. the caving was very clean and spacious for my family. I can’t say enough about this place and most likely I will comeback again.
Plenty of room for our group of 8. Kitchen was very well stocked. Lots of board games, puzzles and movies. Seems like no one had stayed there for a while as there was quite a bit of dust and cobwebs, but the beds were comfy and bathrooms were clean.
Two families in perfect neighborhood location. Right next to 5 lakes trail, short walk to amazing neighborhood pond/lake, short drive to Truckee/Tahie City. Been in the area many times and loved this place, location, hot tub. Easy in/out, excellent communication. Likely to book same place again another year or in winter… loved it
House is described accurately. Enough room for everyone, plenty of bathroom facilities, nice hot tub on deck and access to pond within walking distance. Get neighborhood for hiking and grocery stores close by.

A Great Mountain Getaway!
We had such a great time at 2010 Big John. The hot tub, hiking, the gorgeous pond... you don't even need to leave Bear Creek to experience a wonderful mountain getaway! The kids loved the bunk beds and the parents loved the barbecue and our lovely king-sized bed. There were wonderful boulders to climb on in the yard, sticks to make a tee-pee and, because it warrants a second mention, the HOT TUB! The house is clean and well maintained - we will definitely be staying here again!
The house matched all of the photos and descriptions perfectly. The living room was comfortable, though the TV was a bit small and far away for everyone to enjoy. We loved walking to the private pond and the surrounding trails each evening.
We had a great time at this cabin! The scenery, hiking and private pond were outstanding. I would recommend this cabin and hope to stay there again in the future!
This property was well maintained, all appliances worked! Enough bathroom space for our group, two full baths! The pond was a hit for our group, we were there every day swimming and rafting. Trees and flowers were beautiful. Hiked and found a couple of small waterfalls. Wonderful and relaxing, great rental!!
Amy was very communicative and let us check in a little early which we appreciated. The house was spacious enough for 10 people and we enjoyed the amenities like the hot tub, the pond and being close to a few trail heads. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 for cleanliness/overall is because there was quite a bit of spider activity in the house. I realize we’re in the woods in nature and that can happen but within a 4 night stay I saw 3 spiders in my room alone, two of which were on my bed. Like on my pillow and another between my sheets. It is what it is- maybe just need someone to come spray?
The location of this home is wonderful. Easy rides to Truckee,
Tahoe City, and all the sites of Lake Tahoe. Big John offers
a comfortable, clean, second home. We will spend our next
family Tahoe vacation there.
Great location next to pond that our kids enjoyed. Trailhead to 5 lakes trail a 3 minute walk away. House was comfortable and clean. Owner was friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

Great home for family
Great space for big family, very kid and dog friendly. Comfy beds and kitchen stocked with anything you need to cook for your crew. Especially loved the over-sized dining table where we spent most of our time socializing and playing games/puzzles while in the house!
The neighborhood is beautiful and very conveniently located. Would love to stay again!

Very Impressed
This is a wonderful property, a gorgeous area and is much larger than the pictures present it to be.
The nearby pond and easy walking area make for a wonderful morning stroll. We brought 2 dogs and 6 adults, at no time did we feel cramped or over crowded.
Easy access to Olympic Village and North Tahoe, less than 15 minutes drive, made trips through the area quick and simple.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the property and would recommend it to larger families looking for a central location.

Wonderfully cozy, yet spacious home
Just wanted to take a moment to thank the owners for the opportunity to rent this house! It was truly wonderful! We could not have wished for a better place to stay. The house is amazing and they did a great job making sure that it is cozy yet stocked with everything and anything one might need during a getaway. A couple of highlights: THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WHEN PICTURES TRULY REPRESENT THE SIZE AND AMENITIES OF THE HOUSE. The all-around sitting in the living room is a treat. Closet stocked with games for adults, kids and even pets is a gem. Instructions are super clear, getting there and around the area is easy even in winter. Thank you for making the process so easy too and for always being available. Happy New Year to you and your family!

Gem!
We love this house in Alpine! Newly redone kitchen and bathroom downstairs and super comfy built-in seating (70's ski chalet style!) in the main room make this house very comfortable for our family of five. We love the quiet of Alpine, away from the hustle-bustle of Squaw and Tahoe City, but close enough for all the conveniences. Beds are all very comfortable and kitchen is well-equipped for big dinners and bbqs. The neighborhood pond is THE BEST for kids. Warmer than the lake with the backdrop of the mountains and the Huck Finn rafts...it's pretty dreamy. Amy and Justin are gracious and easy to work with and I hope they'll have us back year after year! GO here! You won't be disappointed...

Fabulous cabin for multiple family/group to enjoy Tahoe year round.
We went to Tahoe with our two children and another family with two children and the cabin was large enough to accommodate and comfortably sleep everyone. The beds and linens are first rate. The kitchen has been recently renovated and is well stocked with all that you need to prepare a gourmet meal. The family room is cozy and has a fireplace and offers lovely views of the surrounding pine trees. The cabin also has a hot tub which is a big plus. In addition, the cabin is very conveniently located close to the ski lodge, amazing hiking trails, and a small pond/beach area where our kids enjoyed playing. This is a great rental for those looking for a clean, well maintained, comfortable cabin with all of the amenities of home in one of Tahoe's most desirable locations.

Great getaway weekend!
We spent the entire Labor Day weekend at this vacation house, two families, five kids, and one happy dog. Had a great time, the house is spacious and comfortable with 4 bedrooms that provided lots of flexibility (you know kids, they like to move around, form teams and change allegiances on a daily basis) and space. Common areas of leaving room, dining area and kitchen easily supported two families as well. It's not one of those brand-new houses that the Tahoe area can offer, but the bathrooms and the kitchen seem to be updated, which is what really counts at the end of the day. The kitchen, by the way, is equipped with everything you need - we didn't miss a thing while cooking two full dinners. The location is actually perfect - right in between the lake and Truckee, close to hiking, biking, and the Truckee river is just a few minutes down the road. But the main surprise was actually the great neighborhood pond that is just around the corner. The kids, their parents, and mainly Bailey the swimming lab, couldn't believe their fortune. We spent a whole morning there and in the woods around it.
Lastly - the owner (Amy) was super responsive and attentive to all questions and requests, everything went as smooth as one could hope. To sum it up - we had a great time!
