This two-story cabin sits in the outskirts of Wilmington (three miles) - a prime location for skiing and other outdoor recreation at Mt. Snow (seven miles) and Stratton Mountain Resort (22 miles). Come summer, you'll be close to the Mt. Haystack Trail (half a mile), Haystack Golf Course (two miles), and the shores of Harriman Reservoir (five miles). The cabin is full of rustic charm, from the exposed-beam ceilings to the classic and inviting wood paneling. After a thrilling day on the slopes, come home to stream a favorite movie, or set up a board game at the dining room table.
On summer days, sip your coffee on the deck with a view of the forest and barbecue your dinner using the small portable grill. There's also a well-equipped eat-in kitchen, a private washer/dryer, and complimentary WiFi throughout the house. When it's time to turn in, retire to one bedroom on the main floor and a sleeping loft upstairs.

Great space for a family or group of friends! Just be careful going down to the house on the front steps, they were covered with snow and a little slippery. Otherwise we had a great stay. The clubhouse is cool too!
Home was clean, plenty of room. Check in information was vague. Would have liked to have more information about the pool. We ended up going and not bringing towels since details about the amenities were sparse.

Great stay
We had an amazing time in our house. The place is fully equipped, from kitchenware to snow sleds to play with outside of the house. The clubhouse is a great relaxation after a long ski day.
We will definitely be back next year!

Nice Location; Cabin Needs Cleaning and Updating
The physical location in Chimney Hill is great. The actual cabin is very dirty and out-dated. For example, there were spices and food items still in the kitchen which expired back in the 1980s. Old carpet lined the entire house with a pungent smell. This location has lots of potential as long as it is thoroughly cleaned and updated.

Overall the stay was okay. I am generally not a complainer, and have stayed in many rental properties. I was initially upset about the condition of the place, but I got used to it. It seems like the place is old and not well kept up. The inside of the house has a bad odor, also the septic smelled bad, so we had to keep the slider to the deck closed. I had to wipe down the kitchen table and counter because they were dirty. Lots of cobwebs (I have them too, but I don't rent my house out.) The bed is quite uncomfortable. No kitchen towels.?

Dining shopping not too far, but not walkable.
The amount we paid was more than double the advertised price, yet we were still asked to perform a laundry list of cleaning tasks before exiting the unit (vacuuming, folding blankets, emptying and taking out gargage, etc.). I realize there is likely a management fee, but most VRBO properties do not require anything more than making sure doors and windows are secure, sink is clear, thermostats set at certain temps, etc.
The property is also in need of a bit of a facelift. One could argue that this is part of its charm, but it looks like all of the furniture was out of the 1970s.

Lovely location with a caveat
My stay with a friend at this location was extremely pleasant overall; the home was well furnished, stocked, and the surroundings of rural Vermont were beyond gorgeous. The interior was very well cleaned when I arrived, though my friend and I very quickly noticed that there was a distinct septic-like odor in the house's central hallway area and the home's exterior (walking up to the entryway, etc). This smell persisted throughout the duration of the stay, but was most noticeable on days where the weather was wet/rainy. It is worth noting that my stay was during the late summer months following a significant rainstorm, so it is possible this issue was caused by the poor weather preceding my visit. Regardless, the unpleasant smell was an unfortunate dampener on an otherwise lovely visit. If there is some clarification from the host on a resolution to this issue, or a warning about its potential cause, I would heartily recommend this quaint Vermont getaway to anyone looking for a relaxing (and hopefully smell-free!) stay away from home.

Noah, thank you for sharing your feedback! We're so pleased you found our home well-stocked and its location served you well. It's great to know you had a pleasant stay and would recommend our home to others. We're sorry for the odor you detected and our local manager noted that the homeowner visited the home and there were no issues. It was most likely due to torrential rains at the time of your visit and we regret this detracted from your stay. We hope you will allow us the chance to provide you with a truly exceptional vacation experience in the future.
