The property was even better than described. The house is old, but the air conditioning is state of the art -- perfectly balanced throughout the house. It is a peaceful, charming, relaxing place to get away. The. owner is just the best.
The house and property are lovely. There is art inside and out. Enclosed porches in the front and at the back of the house. What I enjoyed most was watching the deer and fireflies in the backyard at night.
My best friend and I stayed for 4 nights and we enjoyed every minute of our stay!! The location is perfect to jot down to South Haven or up to Douglas/Saugatuck - we spent a day in SoHa but spent most of the rest of our time in the 3 season room off the back or on the deck enjoying the view!
I choose this home because of its location close to family I was visiting in Glen. However, the charm of this old house and the very interesting modern artwork and sculptures was an unexpected gift to us. Has only two bedrooms but the owner took the time to make sure there is a sleeper option now in the front porch area which met our family's needs. Huge back yard. I will stay there again.
Lovely farm house with unique furnishing, Enjoyed the large deck, propane grill, firepit, comfy outdoor chairs and large backyard lawn. Very convenient to Saugatuck and South Haven. Our 11 year old granddaughter wanted to swap accommodations with us because she thought the backyard and house was so cool. The Meijer grocery store is easy to get to on the way back from South Haven beaches and tourist areas. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
(Use the little food mart down the street sparingly - prices were very high!)
The White House was exactly as advertised: a charming, old farmhouse. It had a wonderful deck and yard for relaxing after a day spent at one of the many nearby beaches, tourist towns, or vineyards.
It shares the yard with the Green Cottage, but we did not have any issue with the group that stayed there, and there is plenty of space for two groups. It is also on a fairly major country road, but the deck and yard are on the opposite side of the house, so road noise was not a bother.
It is about 15 minutes from either Saugatuck or South Haven and all those towns have to offer. There are other county and township parks closer. A small store and cafe is about a 1/4 mile away in case you forget anything.
All-in-all, a wonderful place to relax at that is off the beaten path of this beautiful area.
Very peaceful and relaxing. Had a mother deer and 2 of her fawn 30 feet off the nice deck in the back yard to entertain me with my coffee in the AM. Never experienced as many cardinal at one time before and 1/2 dozen blue jay. Binoculars there were a nice touch too . Golf in the day and bonfires at night. I was looking to recharge the batteries and chill. did exactly that. You're able to get to downtown SH in 10 minutes down Blue Star Hwy too.[8mls] Not a single traffic light or stop sign. Try doing that ANYWHERE in Illinois. Thank you Irina

Refreshing, well appointed, awesome location.
My husband and I, 17 and 19 year old kids had a wonderful stay here. We felt as if we were staying in someones beautiful home while they were away. The furnishings and artwork were lovely and gave us something new to discover every day. It was very clean and comfortable/incl. beds and the kitchen was the best stocked place we've ever stayed - spices and olive oil and all the utensils, pans, baggies, foil, etc... that you would want. Corner grocery 5 minutes walk down the road and Meijer 10 min drive. The sun room and outdoor swing chairs were soooo relaxing - always a breeze and birds, at times wild turkeys with their babies and at night a great firefly show. Less than a mile from the shore of lake Michigan and 5-10 min to Earl's berry picking and famous Sherman's ice cream, a short walk to The Corner Cafe/breakfast and lunch and Glenn's grocery and deli - had their wonderful sandwiches and hot dogs to go on the beach. The best of country life and only 10-15 minutes to South Haven - enjoyed sunset views at pier and cruise on an 1810 replica scooter at the Maritime museum - definitely a must if you are in the area. Great walleye meal at Clementine's. Had some time in Saugutauk 10 min away and hiked in the Saugatauk dune park - beautiful views the whole way to the lake. We spent 3 nights and felt like we got more days than that of relaxation! Hoping to come back soon!
Thanks Irina and Roman for such a great place! Irina answered all questions at the drop of a hat by text of where to go to do things.

"we're so glad that you enjoyed your time here as much as we love it! You are more than welcome anytime. Have a wonderful summer! "
This was our first time renting a home for vacation and we plan on doing so again! We wanted a place where we could relax away from the busy-ness of a tourist area but close enough that we wouldn't have to drive several hours to experience those activities we wanted to do. It provided more than enough space so pur fanily of 3 could spread out. This house provided the best of both worlds for what we would've paid to stay on the waterfront. The house was exactly as described and we definitely enjoyed spending the week there. Irina was easy to work with and available for any questions we had. If we're ever back in the area, we'd love to rent it again.
We loved everything about the house! It’s super cozy, charming, nicely decorated. The location is great, away from busy places, but close enough to get there fast. Irina is a wonderful host as well!

Hope you will be back soon!
My family and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. This is a quaint and well maintained farmhouse with a gorgeous backyard which my kids thoroughly enjoyed. They loved the deer who were our daily morning visitors. The house is located away from all the hustle and bustle but that was the best part for us.
This home was perfect for a fall escape. The owner, Irina, was extremely accommodating for a last minute booking. The home was very clean and very well stocked. The yard is huge and has nice sitting areas and a fire pit. This house has convenience store located very close by and is very close to many popular areas. Easy to visit South Haven and Saugatuck from here.
The farmhouse served our purpose of visiting all the nearby beach towns and Kal-Haven bike trail. The location was ideal and easy to find. The house and many eclectic furnishings which were fun and the garden and fire-pit in the yard added to the experience. My only advice for the Arina would be to make the living room more comfortable, it's time to replace those couches!
The farm house was in the perfect location for our Allegan Heritage Tour; which was remarkable in itself. Lovely place, clean, enjoyed the fire pit, and the well equipped kitchen. Great experience!
This house and the property completely enhanced our trip. It was better than I expected. You instantly feel comfortable in this home. The land is so beautiful and peaceful with the deer and trees and black squirrels. It made it hard to leave. There is so much to see inside and outside. You can tell the owners really love this place. You can feel it. Communication with Irina was fast and easy. She recommended some activities and places to eat. We went boating in Saugatuck and swimming at South Beach. Both areas are near and easy to get to. We had excellent burgers and wings from What Not Inn and fabulous pizza from The Glenn Store. This was one of the best vacations I have ever been on and staying at this house played a big part in why it was. We're already talking about returning next year.
Beautiful, peaceful, artistic, musical, rural, comfy, a little heaven on earth. A truly wonderful get away. Kids loved the hammocks but not the spotty internet connection. Darn the luck they had to disconnect and talk to each other. Fun things to do in the area as well.
Irina was a wonderful hostess! The property is well maintained, art eclectic, warm and inviting. The homemade cherry wine was great too! My children enjoyed exploring the home - both inside and out. We had a great stay in Michigan and would love to visit again. Thank you so much!

Perfect house and property lakeside escape
Gorgeous 19th century farmhouse with plenty of original details, tastefully combined with modern amenities. The house is well equipped with everything you may ever want for a relaxing holiday. The grounds are so serene - greenery as far as the eye can see. Lots of activities in the area (from the nearby beach, to fruit orchards and farmers markets, to strolling around the charming towns), we could have stayed so much longer than the 5 days we had. Can't wait to return!

Completely Charming, if Not Allergy Friendly
Whoops! We were completely seduced by the swings and the back wooden room, and it did say it had "AC." Well, it had a small AC window unit in one room - nothing that could keep up with the humidity! Still, we had a ball. Saugatuck and South Haven were as fun as advertised, and we DID enjoy reading on those swings and having dinners over that table in the back room, so overall it was a success. If 3/4 of us didn't have allergies that went absolutely stark-raving bonkers, we would return. I'd also recommend it to anyone who didn't suffer from allergies. We never saw the owners, but they were responsive via email & text, and left clear instructions. They left a bit of firewood for us out back (which we had fun using), with the option to buy more bundles at $5/each, which I assume is cost. Completely reasonable. The bathroom was a tight fit, but the showerhead was lovely, and the kitchen had everything we went looking for (we cooked on site).
I had no problem with the clean mattress, but my partner complained about the lack of box springs. I've always tolerated a firmer mattress than he has. I did have trouble with the bedspread and pillows. Fortunately I brought allergy pillow covers, and there was a blanket at the foot of the bed that was less dusty/allergy-inducing.
I hope this helps you decide whether it's the place for you. Have fun!

I’m so sorry to hear that your allergies were acting up! I also have allergies in a bad way, especially to dust and pollen and what works for me is a herbal medicine.
I am very watchful to keep the house very tidy and dust free because of that reason.
You can try quercetin (a herb in pills) if you are allergic to pollen and Nettle leaf (as a tea) if you are allergic to dust.
If those things don't work ( we are in the countryside) then Zyrtec saves me.
Glad you enjoyed the firewood and those reading chairs are magical for a mid afternoon nap or for laying under the stars.
Thanks so much again for staying with us."

Great location with quiet setting
We enjoyed the location and quiet setting. The deck and fire pit were a pleasant touch. The garden was fun to stroll through and the trees made beautiful noise with the birds□irrels. Our feedback to help improve the accommodations would be spraying for spiders inside & eliminating cobwebs, providing more wash cloths and adding ac units to bedrooms. Overall, our experience was pleasant and we met the owners which added to our appreciation of the property. Thank you!

Nice secluded updated farmhouse
Our family of four enjoyed our stay in the White House in Glenn. It's secluded enough to feel like your getting away from it all but close enough to South Haven and Fenneville for beaches, hiking, bike trails and restaurants. The house has a plenty of room inside and the back deck and fire pit areas are great. We saw lots of wildlife just sitting on the back deck. I would definitely recommend this rental.

Dear Scott, It was a pleasure having you and your family here. Thank you for taking great care of our home and leaving everything super neat! Also communication was easy, and I certainly hope that you will be back soon!
Hi, I'm Irina. We are from Chicago. I am a piano teacher and my husband is a small business owner. Since we bought this house in Glenn, Michigan 9 years ago as second home our life had divided on two parallel lives- business life and outdoor leasure life and we enjoy each one. Michigan fruites inspired us to make fruit wines and learned pottery. As a hostess I provide a clean, comfortable place, where one can relax/rest or be as active as they want. I belive that you shoud treat people only as you want to be treated and that being positive instead of negative will always make a day a BETTER ONE.
