In the Heart of It All – Elegant Town-Center Charm Awaits!

A perfect Cape Cod retreat! On a quiet street, yet in the center of town, this house is ideal for a family vacation. The house is designed to offer privacy; a separate apartment on the bottom floor has it's own kitchen, bath and sitting area, and the bedrooms are situated on the first floor so that grandparents, or visiting friends, can have a little peace and quiet, even with kids running around.

This charming Cape house is within walking distance of everything. You don't need to get into your car to go to the general market, restaurants, galleries, Mayo Beach, shops or, most importantly, the ice cream shop.

The house is airy and light, but cozy. There is great cross ventilation, so it never seems hot, even in August. We have significantly renovated the house for 2016, so that it combines the best of a traditional cape house, but has been spruced up: we have reshingled, repainted, and have a newly revamped bathroom.

Everything is within easy distance of the house. The new community center is a two minute walk, so that young and old alike can enjoy the activities there. You can walk to get your morning coffee and croissant, and the only dilemma will be whether you spend 2 minutes to go to the market or to the Flying Fish Cafe, or decide to stroll an extra 5 minutes to one of the other great breakfast places.

In the evening, you have your choice of cooking in the spacious kitchen and grill, and entertaining yourselves and guests, or walking to one of the many fabulous restaurants. You can chill with a bottle of wine and Wellfleet oysters on the deck as the kids run around the backyard.

Rainy days don't feel claustrophobic because the house is well designed, and there is plenty of space, a rarity in a house that sleeps 10. We love playing board games (and have quite a collection), or putting together puzzles as a family. This house allows you to bond as a family, but doesn't force you to be in each others' space.

Older kids can walk to the town pier, play basketball at the community court, go fly kites on the beach, or meet friends at the Mac Shack. Bring or rent bicycles for the whole family and go on the Rail Trail (an easy ride for all ages) or go to the National Seashore, a beautiful, but more challenging ride. Teens can even ride bikes to the ocean beaches and ponds.
