It was all about location for me.

This rental was just fine for my purpose. My daughter’s family was staying at the family Surf Villa condo right across the street. I spent most of the time with them and would return to Summer Place every evening. I would not have liked it as much if I was truly on vacation. It is quite spacious for one or two people but in desperate need of a remodel from the horizontal blinds to the well worn bedding to the ancient kitchen to the awful bathroom!

The pool listing is misleading because it’s not in the property area with the condo. It is a community pool across the street from the entrance which you drive to use. Also, we had to stop at the gate to show ID each time we left. It would be nice to receive a pass with an expiration date when checking out.

Great location, needed cleaning

The place is advertised with a balcony in the tree tops which is true but the balcony was very dirty. Lots of dirt and leaves and the chairs and table were covered with soot. Vtrips did say they would send over a cleaner but since we were entertaining our elderly parents (the reason we rented a place with an outdoor eating area) we cleaned it ourselves. We did have another problem which was that the disposable was broken and they did send someone out to fix it. The company was very responsive and great to work with. It would be nice, however, if they checked the cleanliness of their places before guests arrive.

Enjoyed our stay. A little isolated and tad bit outdated. But for overall comfort and location very nice. I would for future visitors tell them that all restaurants and pools were members only for Country Club.

We do not recommend this unit.

We would not stay here again and will never use vacation rental pros again. The description of this unit is very deceiving. The view is of the security guard at the entrance, you can not see or hear the ocean waves. The assigned pool was 1.3 miles away. Vacation rental pros told us there was a hot tub, there is none on property. The unit is in very poor condition. It is filthy. We insisted on having the carpets professionally cleaned and then we purchased supplies and cleaned for two days to make the unit "acceptable." The balcony is completely covered with mold. The grill is a rusty mess. We do not recommend this unit.

Beach was nice. However, we were not allowed access to any pool on the property, even though it was advertised as such. The unit needs upgrading in the kitchen and bathroom. Beach rental services would not rent to us because of the location. Don't think we would stay there again.

Bait and switch

Don't let the title fool you. The pool is a 6 minute DRIVE away. The beach access is a short block away. Sadly we wasted a day of our week trying to ascertain where our access was as the beach access across the street was locked and the other beach ramps were posted for "members only" or locked. The actual beach access is to the right of the sawgrass country club but appears to be part of the club. There were no directions from the condo owner or rental company, who, at one point told me that there was no beach or pool without paying the extra fee. They were so clueless about the property and so unhelpful that we had to drive over to their office to get an answer. 9 hours wasted and a beautiful beach day wasted! So let me help you out. The space is perfect for a couple. The kitchen was adequate, the washer and dryer super tiny. The carpet was very worn, the linens barely adequate-no mattress pad/cover (ick). The balcony was nice but what they failed to tell you in the highly inaccurate description is that the view through a tree is of the guard gate. You listen to hundreds of cars driving through the gate - trucks beeping, guards shouting.... NOT peaceful or quiet. What a laugh that the claim was that you could hear waves crashing! Had we known all this in advance and not wasted a day, we may have chosen to rent but we came away angry and feeling we had been cheated. The price was reasonable and if you plan to do a temporary sawgrass membership, the condo may be for you. I would have a difficult time ever renting from vacation rental pros (who were NOT pros) again.

671 Summer Place review

Overall experience was very good. Nice space and mostly clean. Only cons were that there was a slat missing from the blinds upon our arrival, and it took 2 days and several calls to get it fixed. Also, 1/2 of the heating elements don't work on the toaster. We didn't report that because it wasn't a big deal to us. The bathroom could definitely use an updating (peeling wallpaper, loose towel rack, rust) and the carpet could use a good deep cleaning. Nice space in general, but didn't realize it was up 15 stairs when I booked, and it doesn't get a lot of sunlight, and the view is of the gate house.

Enjoyed the appartment, the beach and the Beach Club. Everyone was very helpful. However, unless you have a car, it is very isolated from the rest of town - suggestion to future travellers from other countries - hire a car to get about - otherwise you are stuck!

unit needed some repairs and upgrades

The A/C unit had restrictions of 74 which left it too warm at night and had a small drip needing a bowl to collect water. TV needs an upgrade to Flat screen and a more comprehensive cable package. Wall paper peeling off in bathroom, shower head was corroded and needs to be replaced. Location was good, inside a gated community very close to beach
