(A crosswalk at the end of the driveway leads directly to Public Way #2). Nicely renovated with two private bedrooms and a large family room with a sleep sofa. Bright and sunny eat in kitchen. Newer bath, hardwood floors, deck and sunroom. Fully furnished. Bonus outside shower, off street parking and grill. Basement washer and dryer access. Cable, Satellite Wifi and DVD player. This is the first floor unit in a two unit house. The opportunity exists for large/multiple families wishing to vacation together to rent both the first floor and the second floor simultaneously. This provides the privacy of your own quarters along with the convenience of having friends or the whole or extended family in the same house. The property was clean and very close to the beach which was the main reason for our stay. Only complaint was that the listing stated a washer & dryer was on the property and no linens were provided.

Thanks for noting the cleanliness of our home and our close proximity to beach (directly across the street from beach). There are actually two washers and two dryers at the house. They are in the basement. We ask our guests to immediately contact us if something is not as advertised or needs attention. If staying at our place, we appreciate robust communication about anything that is a question. In this case, clarification on the washer and dryer in cellar area would have addressed this concern quickly.

Bedroom window had no view and the other bedroom had no window. We expected that as we have stayed here before and always loved it. It is a wonderful cottage with a close and easy path to the sandy beach.

Super appreciate the 5 star rating and the mention of how close we are to the "sandy beach." Our guests do appreciate the convenient and close beach access. As for the two bedrooms in our home, they are set behind the front living room, which has multiple ocean facing windows along the front of the house. The front living room area is a great spot to "people watch" all the beachgoers heading to Wells Beach via Public Way #2.

This place was super close to the beach. Just walked across the road to the short public beach access. The place was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc.Beds were comfortable and back sunroom was nice to hang out and read a book. Front living area also had a couple of couches and large tv. The area and beach has so much to do that we didn't spend much time in the house. The host responded quickly to questions we had.Plan on staying here again for sure.

This is a great little spot if you need time away! Just steps from the beach which allows you to come and go as you please with no pressure to load everything up and worry about amenities while at the beach. Highly recommend!

Great location. Nicer to stay in a home than hotel room. Missed in contract of the need to bring own sheets and towels. Owner did graciously supplied to me. Upstairs client was noisy loud at night, even after quiet hours at 10pm, could hear footsteps whenever client was there.

The apartment itself was very nice as was the location to the beach. Having people upstairs with kids, it was very noisy and with rheir bathroom right over one of the bedrooms was not pleasant.

We love Maine!! We Live in Massachusetts and come to Maine all the time. Having 80 Atlantic to come to as a getaway, has been great. We make a cup of coffee in the mornings, cross the street and watch the sunrise on the beach. Relaxing!!

Why they chose this property

My family and I have vacationed in Wells beach for countless summers. We rented over a dozen different properties. All the properties we rented required us to pack all our beach gear in the car, fight the traffic and cross our fingers we would find a parking spot. If we could find a spot, it was often the typical $15/day. Then we would load all our 'beach gear' on our shoulders and make the walk to the beach. At times it was frustrating. Bathroom breaks were always an adventure. When we decided to purchase a home in Wells, we wanted to be right by the ocean. 80 Atlantic Ave was perfect. It had a crosswalk for the kids at the end of the driveway and direct access to Public Way #2 (No walking up or down Atlantic Ave to reach the nearest Public Way). Bathroom calls were no longer a problem and anything we forgot to bring with us was just across the street. 80 Atlantic is also extremely close to Wells Beach 'Center.' If you want a newspaper or a snack, the convenience store is right there. If the kids want to go to the arcade, get an ice cream or visit the candy store, they are right there. On top of all this, the property has Maine marsh views from the back and ocean views from the front.
