Great location. Everyone loved the view of the pond. We enjoyed the kayaking and campfires. Property is well maintained inside and out. We had 4 adults and 2 young children. There is a playground within walking distance. The walk to town was not too far but a bit more uphill than expected.

Wonderful property close to town

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was cozy and well-appointed. The location was great, within walking distance to town and within easy driving distance of great hiking. The kayaks and SUP were fun and the sauna a special treat. We would definitely stay again!

First 4th of July in Lake Placid

The house was wonderful. Looked exactly like the pictures. We didnt get out on the pond because we had to climb mountains instead. I wish we had better firewood, the stuff we bought would not burn. Love the giant beanbag chairs. I fell asleep in one. The whole group loved the house. Cant wait for our next visit. We would definitely stay here again. Easy to get to and close to everything!!
Saying goodbye was tough.
Skip-Bo night.

We won of course.

Great house and great location

Overall a great place to stay and a great location. The house has been renovated and is bright and airy. One suggestion I have (which is why I gave it 4 stars) is that the stairs did not have a railing. For safety I suggest you add.

Family with kids

Thank you Bridget and Terry for having us. We had a great time at your house, which is well kept and equipped. Peaceful and beautiful views of laguna. We loved fishing, playing crochet or just relaxing around the fireplace. Weather was a bit cold so sauna was a big plus. We’d love staying here next year.

Great location, fun place to stay. Easy.

Great location, beautiful view, we enjoyed the pond and kayaking, and the gardens! Raspberries were ripe - what a treat. Downstairs was spacious and comfortable. Bedrooms are small but fully adequate and all have cross breeze. Wish I had known the fridge and oven are not full size - would have adjusted my plans a bit. Outside Grill worked great. Communication with owner was positive and responsive. Overall a positive experience and we would stay here again.

Relaxing end to the summer

We had a fantastic time in Lake Placid. The kids had plenty to do in a safe environment. They spent a lot of time running around the front yard, fishing off the dock, and of course, playing with the nerf guns. We took evening trips out on the river with the kayaks that were provided at the house. The fire pit was also a hit at night. It was clean, had everything we needed, and was big enough to give us space as necessary. All in all, a great place to stay.

Wonderful time, everything you could want, very peaceful

Everything you could want in a vacation home with a very good location. Our family had a wonderful time in this home. Everything you need is here. There were plenty of paddle boards, kayaks and boats to keep everyone in our family happy as well as many outdoor games, a fire pit, and beautiful scenery. We have 4 kids and they were all entertained for the entire stay. Walking to town was about a half mile walk and you are in a great location. The house was very clean and the kitchen was very well stocked with pans, waffle maker, fondue pot, etc... I would highly recommend this property if you are thinking of staying in Lake Placid.

Great vacation spot

We had a wonderful time staying here. We came for a lacrosse tournament and added on a few extra days to enjoy the area. The location is perfect. It only took us a few minutes to drive anywhere we wanted to go and it was about a 20 minute walk to downtown. We mostly drove and parked since we had a little one, which was never an issue. The house had everything we needed and we loved having the SUP and kayaks. We were on the pond everyday! Each morning we would see the groundhogs munching flowers in the yard, ducklings with their parents floating in the pond and lots of birds flying around. We even saw a deer walking through the yard one morning. Some of the restaurants we recommend are Lisa G’s (walking distance), Big Mountain Deli & Creperie, Soulshine Bagel Shop, Origin Coffee and The Cottage Restaurant. Thank you for a great week!!

True to name

This home is true to its name, so peaceful yet in walking distance to everything. We enjoyed the kayaks and SUP, the wild raspberries, and open kitchen and family room. It was a great jumping off point to visit all the Olympic sites, high peaks, Wilmington flume, and downtown restaurants and shops. We were lucky enough to enjoy the free music venue in the park on Mirror lake (Tuesday evenings). We would definitely stay again!

Great house in a perfect location

This was the second major stop on our family roadtrip and it was just right. The house had plenty of room for our family of 5 to stretch out and relax, and came equipped with everything we needed to feel at home. We’re enjoyed the special touches in the decor that highlighted the Olympics. We were only there for three nights, and with all the exploring we did of the area (and a day trip to Montreal), we really didn’t get to enjoy the pond activities much. The view of the pond from the house was perfect, though. During our stay, there was construction going on at the property next door, but it didn’t really cause any issues. The workers were courteous, but did start work early. The communication with the hosts prior to our visit was good.

ADK Stay In Late June in Lake Placid

Great location close to all Lake Placid attractions. Very clean! House has all the necessities. Grill was clean and easy to use. Three adults each had clean spacious rooms. Nice having a bag of coffee and vacuum packed milk upon check-in. A/C would be nice on hot Summer days/ nights. Box and ceiling fans did help. Paddling in the kayaks was great! We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

Our Stay

We had a fantastic time at the home. We enjoyed all of the amenities, the view, and the walkability to town. It far exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed kayaking on Mill Pond and saw 2 beavers. There were many baby ducklings that our youngest loved watching swim by. Overall great place!!

We have kids and love outdoor activities! Placid is the perfect place for us. We started running a few years ago and ran our first half marathon in Lake Placid last year. It was incredible!! The views were beautiful and the climb up the last hill to the Olympic oval for the final lap was well worth it.

Why they chose this property

Lake Placid is a great place to vacation any time of year. Excellent winter sports with an amazing Olympic spirit, fun summer activities and great hiking all year round. Downtown Lake Placid has shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, night time ice skating, and a beach on Mirror Lake for swimming in the summer, plus fun bars and dancing. There are plenty of activities for kids and adults, you never run out of things to do!

What makes this property unique

Our house is on Mill Pond. You can walk into town for dinner or shopping. The kids can walk to the movie theatre in town, or a bowling alley close to the house. The pond is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of waterfowl, watch the ducks from the dock, do a little fishing with the kids or go out for a ride in the canoe or kayaks. The town has a beach on Mirror Lake and this is walking distance as well. In the winter go snowshoeing, skiing or sledding all nearby.
