Coastal family beach house with sea views and an Aga – sleeps 8
Westpoint is a much-loved family beach house, perched above the golden sands of Polzeath with lovely views out towards the sea. Detached and peaceful, it sits just a five-minute walk from the beach and village shops, via a track that runs alongside the property – close enough to dip in and out of the buzz, yet quietly tucked away.
Inside, the house is light, relaxed and designed for easy coastal living. Downstairs there is an open-plan kitchen and dining area with doors opening onto the terrace and garden – ideal for long breakfasts after a swim or relaxed suppers as the sun goes down. During the cooler months, the Aga adds warmth and character, while the sitting room offers a comfortable place to unwind, with an open fire and sea views that can be enjoyed from much of the house.
Also on the ground floor is a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room, along with a utility room that works well for storing wetsuits, surfboards and sandy kit after a day at the beach.
Upstairs, Westpoint sleeps a further six guests across three bedrooms: a master bedroom with en-suite, a double room and a twin room, all sharing a family bathroom. Each of the upstairs bedrooms enjoys views towards Polzeath beach and the sea beyond.
Westpoint is well suited to families or friends looking for a relaxed Cornish escape, with surf schools, cafés and coastal walks all on the doorstep. WiFi, parking, bed linen and towels are included.
No pets and no smoking.

About the host
Hosted by Hebe Lovell
Our family has a deep connection to Polzeath, having holidayed here since we were small children. Our parents bought Westpoint in the 1990s, and it has been part of our family life ever since. It is now owned by my brother Nico and managed by me, and we still think of it first and foremost as a family home.
Both of my brothers spent years teaching surfing in Polzeath during school and university holidays, while I worked in local cafés and surf shops. The ocean has always been central to our lives – one brother now works as a maritime engineer on a traditional sailing yacht, and the other was a yacht captain before moving to Australia to start his own family. We all grew up in Devon and spent our holidays in Cornwall, and Westpoint holds many of our happiest memories.
We love sharing the house with others and hope guests enjoy creating their own memories here, whether that is learning to surf, swimming in the sea or simply spending time together by the coast.
Why they chose this property
Having spent many happy holidays in Polzeath himself as a child, my dad wanted us to grow up with the same sense of connection to the North Cornwall coast that he had. It became the place where we spent our school holidays, learned to surf, and passed many long days on the beach and in the sea.
Now, although we have all “flown the nest”, Westpoint has remained a constant for our family and continues to be a home where happy memories are made – now with the next generation in tow.
We hope that others will find the same sense of ease, enjoyment and connection during their stay at Westpoint.
What makes this property unique
Westpoint combines a peaceful, tucked-away setting with exceptional proximity to Polzeath beach (just a short walk away) along with lovely sea views from much of the house. It has a warm, lived-in feel with generous living spaces, a garden and terrace, and characterful features such as the Aga (in season) and open fire. It is a house designed for easy coastal living, whether that means sandy afternoons, relaxed family meals or cosy evenings in.
