Why they chose this property

Pet friendly but please check with owner before booking

‘Fern Cottage’ occupies an incredible, highly-coveted, elevated setting overlooking Port
Isaac harbour, the village and out to sea. Every principal room takes full advantage of the truly gorgeous views across the historic and picturesque harbour. This is an exceedingly desirable and sought-after area of North Cornwall, with close proximity to such well-known villages as Rock, Trebetherick, Polzeath and also within easy reach of Boscastle and Tintagel.

What makes this property unique

Unique. location above the harbour of Port Isaac

Port Isaac is a truly wonderful ‘old’ village, which has remained unspoiled with the passage of time, with slate-roofed cottages lining the narrow lanes and alleyways which wind down the side of the steep valley to the harbour. Two noticeable features are Temple Bar – recorded as the narrowest thoroughfare in the world and known locally as ‘Squeeze Belly
Alley’ and the ‘Bird-Cage’ – so named because of its unusual shape; it was used at one
time as a cobblers’ shop and is now owned by the National Trust. There is a thriving
village community with shops, restaurants, school and doctors’ group practice and further facilities catering for everyday needs.
