Beautiful Forest Retreat

We had a lovely stay at Ancient Grove! The large outside balcony/living area had an amazing view were we enjoyed meals and just hanging out with the family! Pool area was also beautiful and a nice area to relax at the end of the day. Definitely need a car to get around, highly recommend the close by nature preserve, tons of monkeys and other cool animals. The house has some Eco/features such as solar heated water which add to the charm, but we did have some lukewarm showers. Overall super cool house, beautiful views with a peaceful vibe.

Love the location of the property but we encounter several problems while we were there. Shower in cabin wouldn't get hot and was shocking people so we couldn't use it, oven wouldnt stay on prior to pre heating on Thursday we ran out of propane so we couldn't use the stove,the skylight leaked when it would rain 🙄 I contacted the said manager Georgia Newsome and rachel the manager of the house. To say the least I will not rent from this company again. I have requested a refund for all the issues stated above.

At Ancient Grove we take our reviews very seriously and do our best to exceed the high expectations of our guests . Unfortunately at times certain incidents do occur such as a malfunction in a water heater and a small drip from a ceiling , we feel that it should be mentioned that these issues were corrected immediately and were a priority to our manager. The gas for the stove was not functioning for less than 30 minutes and our 2 managers were available for any requests throughout your stay. The finest hotels in Barbados could not of reacted more professionally.

Recommend 100% Amazing house in a beautiful place

We spent 2 weeks at Ancient grove and absolutely loved it. There were 10 in our party including 3 small children and the place was just brilliant. The size of the property was great for such a large group we were able to have all our meals together looking out over one of the most stunning views. I could honestly never get bored of that view.The tranquility of the location was really something else and we were still only 5-10 minutes from some breathtaking beaches. And 10-15 minutes from Holetown. There is also Haymans market which was 2 minutes down the road and was a good place to visit for some nice takeout food or coffees and other things. We were never in the car for longer than 30 minutes getting to anywhere really and we visited lots of different parts of the island. So again the location is ideal.The pool area was perfect for us as well as in the afternoons when it got a bit hot for the children out or at the beach we were able come back to a dappled shaded pool where you over looked a deep grove and still see the Caribbean Sea!The rooms were great. Were were in the bottom room as we had 2 children with us. It was maybe a little less salubrious than the others but we only used it to sleep in any way and worked well for us. We were able to contact the owners easily whenever we needed anything (nothing significant just a broken kettle) and they were very responsive. We had the best time there and would 100% book there again if were to go back to Barbados.

Ancient Grove 1 - 25th Champagne Birthday Celebrations

We arrived close to sunset and the views and property were exactly as was posted in the online pictures. Our daughters and friends had the experience of a lifetime. We rented a car and this is highly suggested as Ancient Grove is off the beaten track and too far to walk to the beaches. That being said, some of the best beaches are only a 15 minute to 25 minute drive away. Highly recommend Gibbes Beach! The location however is stunning with seaviews and tropical trees. We didn't experience any bugs, but would suggest bringing spray in general to BIM. Thank you for the memories and for sharing your home with us!

Great Holiday House

The best part of staying in this house is the veranda, the views are better then what you see in the photo and has a big table that can accommodate everybody. We were a party of 8 and the house was comfortable. We were disappointed in the pool area, and as a group couldn't stay around it plus its very shaded. But the beaches are very close by. Loved Port Charles. A car is essential. We had a really good holiday around this area.

Lovely property

My friends and I stayed at Ancient Grove 1 for my birthday weekend and it was nothing short of awesome! The property was to die for as well as the atmosphere and the view 😍😍! The property was fully stocked with everything you’d need for a weekend getaway, including a grill! Georgia was very easy going and she was always one message away. I can’t wait to stay again, it definitely was one of the best Staycation experiences I’ve had.

We went on a family vacation and had a lovely time. Ate all of our meals in the outdoor dining area with the view of the “jungle”. If staying with family, note two of the rooms are not centrally linked to the main house. Main pool not meant for kids but there is a small dip pool. Housekeeping could be better

Beautiful Villa

Stayed here with 6 friends and it was mostly perfect. The infinity pool and balcony are amazing for hanging and the best views. The home itself is also beautiful and quite nice. Only things that weren’t entirely clear from the listing were that the main living room and one of the 4 bedrooms does not have AC which was less than ideal but it’s a great property and with the moderate weather that we had, this wasn’t too big of an issue. Georgia was an excellent host and very attentive and responsive. Thanks for making our first time in Barbados memorable.

Lovely comfortable villa

Very much enjoyed our 2 week stay in Ancient Grove one. The villa was set in lovely surroundings and the view from the fantastic veranda was beautiful. The one downside of the lush surroundings however was the mosquitos. The villa was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. Natalie our hostess was excellent and always available for us. We loved the area. Speightstown our nearest town was about 5 minutes by car and had some nice places to eat and relax and we enjoyed swimming from the beach. I know some people have said that they have walked there from the villa but I wouldn't advise it. The road is very steep in parts and it seems like quite a long walk to me. I would definitely advise hiring a car. We did use a local taxi service on a few nights out and also to take us back to the airport. Barbados is a beautiful island with great people. We covered most of the island in our two weeks and had a great time. Thanks to Ancient Groves owners for their great communication throughout the booking process and our stay, I would be happy to recommend Ancient Grove One.

A beautiful villa in outstanding surroundings

This was our first time in Barbados and when arriving at the villa we were astounded by how beautiful the setting was and the space provided. Ancient Grove 1 offered plenty of room for our group. Natalie met us at the property and showed us around. She was very helpful, giving tips and advice on things to do and answering all our questions. We loved spending time on the huge veranda; particularly great at sunset, and down by the pool. The kitchen was well equipped and beds very comfortable. We did not rent a car however, due to the location this would probably have been wise. We often walked down into town but would not recommend walking back up! Buses do travel along the highway but are not frequent. Buses and taxis are easily caught from town; the drivers soon recognised us and offered lifts back!! We managed to see much of the island but a car would have made trips to the shop for groceries much easier. We would definitely recommend Ancient Grove.

Ancient Grove is Paradise

Right from the beginning, Brian and Natalie answered all of our questions. We loved the decor of Ancient Grove 1 and found it very comfortable. It was well stocked with everything we needed for around the house, and for days at the beach. The location was spectacular, and groceries/shopping/beaches were all within a short driving distance. We are looking forward to returning next year!!

Breathtaking views of the jungle and ocean

Waking up to this view from the balcony is something you never tire of - it really is so amazing. The villa is lovely, spacious, clean and well stocked. Beach Towels are provided and there is a hair dryer which all go to saving space in the luggage. The villa was perfect for our needs, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. For us, the best part was the outdoor space, where we spent most of our time. The beds were comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets if we needed. We were extremely well looked after by the Villa Manager met who met us on arrival and when departing. Natalie was at the end of the phone at any time should we need her. I would not hesitate in recommending this holiday property to anyone. It is extremely well managed, and was a real treat for our holiday. I will definitely be coming back to stay here on my next trip.
