Oceanfront with direct beach access, the Oceanfront Ravissant is a 2256 square feet beach house built 84 years ago! The Ravissant brings back the memories of going to the beach when you were young. In those days, having air conditioning was a rare occurrence so the windows and doors were opened wide. Lots of the doors were even louvered to allow the ocean air to flow through the house even when closed. You could feel the ocean breeze blowing through the house all day and night. Sometimes it was so hot you would pull the mattresses out on the porch overlooking the ocean and sleep. It was just like sleeping right on the beach but much softer. Hearing the ocean waves hitting the beach at night was so relaxing. The Ravissant still has that rustic charm you’d experience way back when, but with modern updates like washer & dryer, heat and air & WiFi.

Two spacious covered porches are the perfect place for hanging out after a long beach day and sipping on some sweet tea. In addition to the spacious porches and uniqueness of the interiors, the old charm of this historic home will encapsulate you and your family like many before you while you develop your own beach memories! The current owner’s are only the second family and have owned The Ravissant 47 years now and have raised children and grandchildren with many fun summers getting together “at the beach” year after year.

This home is perfect for family & extended family. On the first level is the kitchen which has just been updated with cabinets and is having its first dishwasher installed this week. This opens to a lovely dining area which flows on to the family room and onto the oceanfront private covered porch. There is a laundry area with Washer/Dryer and an oceanfront bedroom which opens up to the private covered oceanfront porch; perfect for those cups of coffee watching the sunrise. There is also an additional bedroom on this level and a full bathroom.

On the second level there are two more bedrooms, one oceanfront which opens to another covered porch along with the second family room. There is even another kitchen which harkens back to years ago and is perfect for another cup of coffee, toast, snacks etc . You don’t have to go downstairs to get those things if you don’t want to; “Grandma” was quite an extraordinary hostess!

As with any historic beach home; it has a few little quirks, like the floors are not all exactly level. One of the guests described it well:
"This is an old school beach house and we were prepared for that. The location is wonderful and the sunrises from the porch were unparalleled, and the quirks of this house (older homes that haven’t been remodeled have a lot of them) did not deter us from enjoying our morning walks on the beach or listening to the sound of the waves each night. You’re not going to rent here if you’re looking for an updated home. We prefer the nostalgia of original beach homes and the beach mixed; we like to step back in time while we still have the opportunity to do so. It’s almost impossible to find this type of beach vacation anymore.”

Note: All bedrooms have their own controls for hvac in the room to independently control the way you want your room to be heated or cooled!

This home does NOT come with linens HOWEVER, we do offer a linen package that includes all beds made up, bath linens and two kitchen towels. You can choose this option at time of reservation or anytime after reserving just email or call us. If you add this package within 10 days of your arrival you could incur a late linen addition fee.

We strongly suggest you purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance and get a "cancel for any reason" type policy!! We have sources for this just let us know and we will send you the link for it.

In Season's that have a 7 day minimum requirement, check in and out day is Sunday.

RATE NOTES: Rates are subject to change at any time up until you have paid for your reservation. If you put your dates in you want then you will see the total charges before you are asked to pay. Quoted rates do not include taxes, cleaning fee, waiver insurance fee or optional pet or linen fees. If you would like, we provide all sheets for you with the beds made up and a towel set for each guest for a fee so you don't have to bring your own! We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. 25% is collected at time of reservation with balance due 45 days prior to check in. Pet fee is for dogs only and is per pet and is a fee NOT a deposit.
