GREAT PLACE
We traveled the coast from North to South and this was by far the best place we stayed on our trip. I am not a big fan of hotels anyway, so the cottages were amazing. They're brand new, decorated beautifully! It felt like a smaller version of home. I would highly recommend...wish we could have stayed longer!

A Piece of Heaven
My husband and I enjoyed 3 days here for our first anniversary and we had an amazing time! The cabin was beautiful, modern, and clean; perfect for just us two. We loved the serene setting of the pond and waterfall and we had fun outback at the fire pit. We were so close to the beach and Mark, Joan, and Peaches were very sweet and helpful. We will definitely return.

We stayed in Cabin 2, which faces the ornamental garden and the pond, for two nights, and we loved it! The cabin was spotlessly clean and very cozy; the sound of the running water was very soothing. Mark was a thoughtful and attentive host who brought us a bottle of wine and all we needed to get a nice bonfire going so we could enjoy the place as it got dark. It was phenomenally located between the excellent restaurants in Trinidad and Redwood National Park. We had a very relaxing stay!
We gifted this stay to some friends for a Valentine’s getaway. They drove 5 hours to get there only to find the host’s residence all dark. They looked in the window of their cabin and discovered there was no mattress or sheets on the bed, the counters could be seen with dirty dishes and food and the front door was locked. They finally located the host who was either drunk or stoned and stated the rental had neither running water nor power but he had placed 5 gallon buckets of water in the cabin for them to wash with. Our friends didn’t want to stay here so the host said he would be able to refund our money in about 2 weeks. Our friends left the area to try and find a last minute place to stay in this small town during a holiday weekend. I contacted VRBO and was faced with a whole separate nightmare of dealing with their customer service. Over 5 hours of being on hold, speaking with employees who minimized the events, were difficult to understand due to language differences, supervisors who lied about providing refunds, etc. Only after our friends return to the location, took photographs of the conditions, and video the unprofessional host talking about how we should get a refund but he can’t provide it until the first of the month did VRBO finally refund our money. VRBO sent an email after all was done apologizing for the experience, however it should not have taken this much time and effort to get to a resolution.

Our stay at Golden Eagle Vacation Rentals
Overall we'd rate our experience as excellent. The cottage is small but very comfortable and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and in no way intrusive. We visited mostly to see the magnificent redwood forests at nearby Prairie Creek State Park, but there are plenty of other things to do around this place. Make sure to drop in at the Beachcomber Cafe for breakfast and at the Larrupin cafe for dinner (you won't be disappointed in either place!). The people of Trinidad were very friendly and the place is simply beautiful. So, we are happy to recommend the Golden Eagle Resort as a great place to stay!

Exhale......lovely cottage tucked in the woods
My husband and I turned a trip to the west coast for a son's wedding into a min-vacation for us as well. Windows open for the cool night air and to listen to the pond's waterfall (right in front of the cottage porch). Complimentary bottle of wine provided by Mark (owner)! Dinner at Larrupin, about 10 min down the road, day trips out to walk among the redwoods and to get elk sightings....what's not to love. Mark has clearly put a lot of love and time into creating this oasis and I'm so glad I found it on VRBO. If we'd had kids in college nearby, this would have absolutely been our destination for graduation weekend. If I knew someone getting married nearby, this would be a sweet place for that kind of venue as well. Thanks Mark for a wonderful 2 night stay! We will be back if we're ever back in this part of the country!

What a great couple with fresh ideas for this young business.
Thank you for sharing.
I will incorporate the savvy marketing strategy of promoting an H.S.U. Professor of the Year promotion during graduation weekend.
Thank you for the micro brews!
This is a very comfortable place to stay- with all amenities as promised. We were warmly greeted on arrival and offered an evening bonfire and bottle of wine! The location is so close to a beautiful coastal park , with trails in woods and on coast and beach . Trinidad town and gorgeous beach just a few minutes by car. Highly recommend this” get away” .
The property was perfect and the setting incredible. The property managers/hosts were so kind and attentive (Thank you Marco)! It is the perfect location. Near beaches, small town of Trinidad, and the Redwoods. We will be back!
Listening to frogs at night as we went to sleep was a special treat.
Great location with access to coastal redwoods, beaches and wonderful hikes. Marko is a wonderful host.
