Beautiful area
The location was across the street from the beach and we enjoyed use of the bikes. Otherwise, the cabin smelled musty when we walked in and sheets were so mildewed, I slept on the couch.
We opened the windows and it helped some and hung all our blankets on the line outside the second night.
Very clean, very nicely located. Nice new deck with a table in the shade. A beautiful deer watched us on the edge of the woods. Cute place very convenient.
Great communication from property owner. Location was perfect. Cabin could definitely use updates but very clean and supplied well with all our needs. Highly recommend!
This is a classic Michigan cottage near the lake! It’s a casual, comfortable place to make some memories with family. The house is in an excellent location allowing easy walks and bike rides to town. We enjoyed going into town for meals and beach visits. Nice central location for exploring all that Leelanau has to offer. The beds were comfortable, there was plenty of space to spread out, and all the extras like the bikes are a bonus. For those wondering, the window a/c units and fans kept the place cool on days we needed it. We had a great visit and enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Mike!
Wonderful house badly in need of updating and some decorating pizazz.
We loved our stay, and the kitchen was stocked with every dish and cooking need you could think of. However, the color scheme in the living area was beige and white... with such a cute little place, some color is desperately needed to enhance the cabin's charm. Paint the walls something other than white to make the paneled walls pop, and some pillows and throws other than white would work wonders against the beige sofa. Some small improvements could be made to update the kitchen and bathroom. The paint on the garage and in the bathroom was peeling, and there wasn't even a bath mat. The headboard in the master bedroom was missing its spindles. All the furniture appeared to be from second-hand shops and painted white. But on the positive side, there is great potential for this property. The landscaping was lovely with beautiful hydrangeas and freshly planted mums. The location is magnificent with the lake directly across the street. And the morning walks I took! South Shore Rd. is loaded with scenery and charming homes, and there is very little traffic. Everyone that drove by waved (which left me pleasantly surprised!). Suttons Bay is a quaint little town with nice shops and restaurants. The cabin just needs to come into the 21st century appearance-wise. Overall, however, the place was clean, comfortable and cozy. I would happily come back again, but I think next time it will be in the summer to take advantage of the beaches.
Our group wanted to do a bike wine tour. Sutton's Bay Bike Tour is a ton of fun. This place was super close to the Bike place and close to a park that was on the water. Great location and house if fully stocked. Washer and dryer and anything you need. Very clean and quiet. There is wood for the fire at the local grocery store, self serve so that was great because things close up early. There were 6 girls so we had to juggle the bathroom, which really wasn't a problem. Everyone slept well and everyone loved the place. We'd for sure stay again!
This is a smaller, quaint cottage on a quiet street right across from bay front homes. They had many nice bikes available in the garage for our short rides to the nearby park, Hop Lots, the grocery store and downtown Sutton’s Bay! We rode everywhere! The location is the best! The cottage had everything we needed and Mike was easily accessible and willing to address any needs. It is an older cottage with that up north feel and we had a Wonderful stay.
Loved staying here, location was perfect! The available bikes in the garage were an added bonus! Close enough to ride into Sutton’s Bay for breakfast and also very close to Hop Lot. Highly recommend!
Great location for walking into town. It was so nice to have our little dog travel with us on our Easter adventure. Tart trail and a little nearby park were added bonuses. We enjoyed the quiet cottage setting and a bon fire at night. Thank you again for accommodating our needs!
Our family of 3 enjoyed a peaceful long weekend during the off season (spring). We read, walked, and took driving explorations. The beds and bedding were comfortable. The eating area allows for many to gather comfortably. There's a decent variety of bikes, games, books, and kitchen supplies. Overall these owners anticipate the needs of guests beautifully and we would stay again. The term "cozy" in the description most likely refers to the toilet area and the 3/4 length bathtub with the width also smaller than normal. This is great for kids but not a soaking option for adults. At 4'11" I was just able to sit but not soak. However, the antiquity of it is adorable. When we took walks it felt like cars went faster than the posted 25 but we suspect that during the summer months drivers would be more attentive to the limit. Again, overall the hosts have done a very nice job with this place.
I have stayed at Mike's property a few times now, from a quick weekend, all the way to a week. Everytime i show up the place is spotless. I love the location; perfect walking distance to the village of SB without it feeling to far. Beds are SUPER comfortable too! I will stay again and again.
This cute cottage worked perfect for our group of four ladies on a fall friends getaway. Wonderful location, excellent communication from owners, had everything we needed for cooking meals in and close to shopping, wineries and more!
Perfect location to many of the Northern Lake Michigan/Traverse Bay sites. Nice walk to beaches and into town. The house has the best equipped kitchen in any we have stayed.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great, just steps away from downtown Suttons Bay. There are a lot of 'extras' included in this rental: fire pit, board games, bicycles. House is on a very peaceful street. The owners are very accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend!

We have been coming to the Sutton's Bay area for over 20 years and love the area. We bought this cottage in 2014 and have enjoyed sharing it with other families!
Why they chose this property
We love this property because of the great location to everything we love to do. As a family we love biking, hiking, swimming and just spending time on the water.
What makes this property unique
Our cabin is an older rustic cabin with enough updates to make it comfortable for families to enjoy. We offer very low rental rates all summer and the cabin has all the amenities that families need such as washer and dryer, washing machine, clothes line, fire pit, bikes of all sizes, gas grill and many other recreational games.
