I did not look at the reviews until a week before the stay and it made me nervous. A couple of reviews made it sound so bad that I was worried about our stay. I want to say a couple months between their stay and mine made a difference but I truly believe those reviews were unfair. It's a really nice cabin that is cozy and perfect for our stay. I have stayed in cabins in the Smokies for over 25 years and this was just as nice as all the others I have been to. There are a couple easy things they could do to take it up a notch but for the most part, it's a great place to stay. I say book with confidence.

It does have nice views of the valley and mountains. The cabin is nicely laid out and has adequate kitchen supplies. However, the carpet is badly stained and has a strong smell to it. There has been a leak near the chimney which has created a musty smell. Several of the lamps were missing lightbulbs or had non-working lightbulbs.I would be willing to rent a different Dogwood Cabin if I could see it first.

This cabin was in terrible shape. The carpet was dirty and had holes and ragged areas. The dishwasher didn’t work. All other appliances were in working condition. More than half the light fixtures didn’t work and we had to buy our own lightbulbs for the dining area light. The towel rack in the main bathroom had been broken and the linoleum was buckling along the edge. The mattress in the bedroom where we slept was stained in almost the entire surface. I have included photos below. The back porch furniture cushions were badly soiled, mildew covered, and torn.While we really enjoyed the location and area activities, the cabin was very disappointing. We will likely visit this area again in the future but will likely not book this cabin again. The management was very sympathetic of our situation. We urged them to remove this cabin from their listing.
