Bf bday

We arrived early 4th of july evening. And by sun down we got the best fireworks show. The cabin sits 10 steps from the Mississippi River. And all along the river were firework displays. The view was priceless. Quiet neighborhood but everyone waved and speaks in this community. The cabin felt like home.older feel but clean and neat.

Needs a lot of work

We were infested by mayflies inside, had to leave after second day of 4 day stay...trying to get partial refund. rotten wood on bottom of door open to outside. trash in yard, filthy dishes in kitchen, fish hooks in carpet. didn't know it was upstairs only until day before we got there, which was difficult for my wife. I doubt this place would pass an inspection!

We are sorry you were not satisfied with your stay at our cabin-house. Our Property Manager responded immediately and corrected your mayflies concern within the hour. She also determined you had unlocked and opened the unscreened side of window during your second evening. Per our phone discussions, assisting you with how to turn volume on remote on 1st night, and after your first evening's stay, you had no issues and no mayflies in the home. Your original concern regarding the cabin house being an upstairs unit...therefore difficult for your spouse to navigate was beyond our control. We unfortunately couldn't agree to your refund demands on your 3rd day. We wish you the well on your future travels.

I hate to write a bad review, but oh my...The ad said this was a whole house rental. It was upstairs only. The entrance required was up stairs and on to a not-so-safe deck. The shoreline was overgrown (it was rented to fish which the owners knew). The inside had an overwhelming smell of mold. I started cleaning, my son started wheezing, and we left within two hours of arriving. I filed a complaint with vrbo, put in a dispute with my credit card company, all while communicating with the host. The host said the black spots under the vent hood of the stove was dried cleaner. I have attached pictures. That's not cleaner. Its mold. I scrubbed some light switches and started the top of the vent hood. The photos are attached of the paper towels used. Its truly not clean and a hazard to anyone with allergies or breathing issues. The up side is the linens appeared new, as did the TV and sound system. It just wasn't clean. This would have been a good party house, but not for a mom and a kid that just wanted to fish.

Tim....We had an inspector come out to property who assured No Black Mold was in the home. I'm no doctor, but I strongly believe the few hours fishing you both did on Riverbank prior to entering the home was the root of your sons' allergies. Unfortunately, not everyone is built for River activities, maybe pollen was up. As you may recall, you had our team perform an expedited cleaning to support prior guest's same day check out. Unfortunately, these cleanings and the unplanned emergency mold inspection house call...though was an erroneous complaint, still cost money to investigate/remedy. I was ok with whatever VRBO decided but could no longer trust the validity of your complaints. I opted to let them choose best option. Plus, you violated a few house rules. My advice to the other VRBO owners would be to not rent to you. Ironically, the next 2 guest have gave 10 stars... shortly after. Best wishes on your future travels. Charlie

I love the outdoors. I bought this cabin so my family could enjoy the outdoors yet still have all the amenities near for my indoors type family members.

Why they chose this property

I chose this home because of the Mississippi River being right in backyard. We wake up and fish early in the morning, and also set trout lines in the evenings.

What makes this property unique

It is a very secluded island. All the Islanders are ultra friendly and welcome new faces. If offers a big yard for picnics and running the dog around. The sunrises and sunsets are unbelievable from the Patio Deck.
