This beautifully renovated Hilton Head vacation rental offers a luxurious coastal escape. It is situated on the 4th floor with elevator access for easy arrival. The spacious living room boasts a large mounted flat-screen TV and direct access to a private balcony where you can unwind and enjoy breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and community pool. The fully equipped kitchen features granite countertops, sleek stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar for casual dining. The adjacent dining room comfortably seats six, perfect for gathering after a day of exploration.

The primary bedroom is a peaceful retreat with a king-size bed, a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall, and bay windows that frame stunning ocean views. The en-suite bathroom exudes elegance with a walk-in shower and dual vanities. The guest bedroom offers ample space with two double beds and a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall for entertainment.

Guests can take a dip in the seasonally heated swimming pool or relax at the beach pavilion, all nestled within beautifully landscaped grounds. Whether you prefer lounging by the pool or taking in the ocean breeze, Barrington Arms offers the perfect setting for a memorable Hilton Head vacation.

**A major construction project begins 11/1/2026 and ends toward the end of March 2027. This project will consist of scaffolding being erected around large portions of the building at a time, intermittent sawing and scraping noise, and the refinishing of the walkways on all five floors of Barrington Arms. There is currently no set schedule for when each of these items will occur, so it should be considered as a possibility at any time during this date range. Dates are subject to change based on weather or any other extraneous factor(s).

Good But Needs Improvements

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We felt the resort was lovely, however the whirl pool wasn't functioning. The condo itself was dated, dark and the plumbing was antiquated. We were an elderly group and found the beds difficult to get in and out of as they were very high. Many of the closets were locked which didn't allow us much room for our own things. It was clean however I wouldn't recommend it.

Parking and elevator are convenient. Could use a few updates for the price: Beds were not at all comfortable ( very hard) Outdoor balcony furniture could use some updating (uncomfortable lounge chairs) and new pads. Bathroom shower plumbing backwards and toilet seat vey wobbly. I really wish they would supply beach chairs and umbrellas. Outfitters won’t deliver beach chair rentals unless you rent 3 days if bikes too. Not great for older couples with knee issues. Extra toilet paper stored under KITCHEN sink ?????? found it after we purchased more. Overall it was a great trip and other than beds we had a relaxing time.

I was carrying luggage to car at 9:20 am. When I returned to the room I found my wife upset. The cleaners arrived at 9:25am. My wife was in bathroom. They came on into the room. She told the man that check out was 10am, he said its 9:30, and went back outside room. When I arrived at room 3 of them were standing outside the room. One of them said "it's 9:30!" I told him, yes it is but check out is 10 and we will be out by 10. It seemed he was trying to convince me that check out was 9:30am. Someone needs to talk to this person and he should be more careful in the future

Reviewer Comments: These pictures are current (as of April 2021), everything was exactly as we expected and this is a very nice condo.If you don't care about internet speeds, you can stop here and rent the condo- you'll be very happy.The only issue we had was with the internet. I measured it on a wired connection to my laptop and it was 1mbps (my profession is in technology). I called 3 times to get someone to come out and look at it (the first call was 16 hours into our 7 day stay) and nobody ever showed up.To make matters worse, the cellular data on all of Hilton Head is slow. I have verizon and 4mbps is about all you can get. A friend has AT&T and could barely get a signal, much less data.Unless the listing specifically says the internet is updated, I wouldn't stay here again. My friend's condo two buildings over had 50mbps cable internet. I was glad I could go there to download my podcasts and netflix.

Palmetto Dunes is a wonderful resort with a lot of amenities. Pickleball facilities were outstanding, Dunes Buggy was convenient & the drivers were informative. Bike rental was easy. Condo could use some TLC, tub didn't drain, cabinets & fridge didn't close well, felt very cramped with all the unusable furniture, elevator was broken on the day of our check-in and we were on the 4th floor, pool was closed for 2 1/2 days with no notification or information.

There were a lot of locked spaces, so it was a little hard to store our suitcases and have hanging room. The location was superb, but the gate to the beach was broken much of the time we were there.

The condo, however, needs some attention. The living room and balcony furniture is badly worn and not very comfortable. An unsightly storage cabinet sits in the living room and takes up unnecessary and unuseable space.

Reviewer Comments: With much anticipation, we arrive at the Barrington Arms in the Palmetto Dunes, the ocean view presented exactly as it was in the picture, and we were delighted with the condo itself. It was spacious clean, comfortably furnished. The grounds surrounding the condo were lush with water accents, like the wildlife, which we looked for every day. We greeted the sunrise each morning and we’re never disappointed. I would describe the overall stay to be serene, almost spa like we also like the keyless entry, one less thing to worry about. OK

Vexation, irritation and piqued

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property was on the fourth floor. The elevator was being repaired and there is only one. The front desk said they didn’t know anything about the repair even though it was noted on the PD website. Wi-Fi in the unit wasn’t functioning, neither were the landline phones. Front Desk always said I was breaking up when I called to complain. Front desk also spoke quickly and over any plea for help. Finally got a modem, that died. We went to Hargray offices and they were kind enough to expedite a return of service. Owner of unit hadn’t paid bill and apparently property manager doesn’t check those things. We spend winters on Hilton Head, Palmetto Dunes is a favorite place but there are other rental agencies who have properties in PD and are more responsible.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location. However, the plumbing was in dire need of work. The hot and cold were backward on many of the faucets and shower. The water pressure in the main bathroom shower was horrible. The drains in BOTH sinks in the main bathroom took over 10 minutes to drain after only brushing your teeth. The ice maker did not work.There is a very large, ugly, locked and unusable cabinet in the living room that takes up quite a bit of the usable living area. A chair is in front of it but makes the walkway between the chairs very narrow.Apparently, it's used for owner storage.

All the little notes regarding being cautious about using plumbing because it is either broke or does not work correctly from the owners was to say concerning and annoying. Not stocked well for people who want to cook and the over sized cabinet in the living area that serves no purpose for the renters is just taking up space that could be used for conversation. Also, if you are a shorter person, plan on a step stool to get in bed or take a running leap. Curious if the mattress toppers are covering up a issue with old mattresses?! But made the best that we could and the Property Manager was supportive!!! Would Not recommend this unit .

Not What I Hoped It Would Be

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The bed was hard, very hard. It made my back hurt and sleeping was difficult. The light switch to the bath was behind a door--not ideal. The large cabinet in the living room took up too much room--making the living room a tight fit for 4 people.
