About this property
Beautiful & Peaceful Lake George Waterfront with Awesome Sunsets. Beach Nearby!
Simply put, Lake George is one of the most beautiful and pristine lakes in the country. The northern end is perhaps the most peaceful and picturesque area of the entire lake. Our lake house is uniquely located facing south on the peninsula of Black Point. Just sit back in a chair on the lawn (or in the living room) with your beverage of choice and watch the wildlife, boats, movement of the water or wait for the sunset over the mountains. So restful.
Our lake house features 150 feet of water frontage, large dock, beautiful sunrises from the kitchen window and sunsets from the living room window and backyard, short walk to the town sandy beach, and only 5 minutes to the boat launch. The town beach has lifeguards, bathrooms, swings, beach volleyball, and picnic pavilion. There aren't very many waterfront houses on Lake George that face south. This is a great house for families or for a week escape with friends - there's even a finished basement with ping-pong and a foosball table!
When you enter The Point House you'll be struck by the view straight ahead out the dining room window. Come in, drop your bags and rush to the living room window. The southern view of Rogers Rock and Anthony's Nose is spectacular. Leave the bags in the hallway and go out to the back lawn exiting through the three-season porch. This is why you're here – the shady lawn is the place to spend a summer afternoon. You'll notice the dock and the shallow water down below – kids (and adults!) will have a blast jumping into the lake. The lake bottom here is a mixture of sand and small rocks – no muck here. Notice the large rock next to the dock and make a mental note to reserve some time to sit there with a book or come out at night to star gaze.
While you'll love the view and the closeness of the water, you'll also feel at home with the accommodations and amenities the house has to offer. The large kitchen features all new appliances including a double wine/beer chiller, dishwasher, and microwave. There is plenty of counter space to prepare food and even an eat-in kitchen dining area. All necessities are included: traditional coffee maker, blender, KitchenAid mixer, and service for twelve.
Long after you travel home you'll remember the view from the living room picture window. Watch for sunrises, sunsets, birds, or enjoy the peaceful lulling of the water. There is also a wi-fi TV, fireplace, ping-pong table, and game cabinet. This main room, furnished in mid-century modern, also features a dining area. The table comes with several leaves and can accommodate ten people.
If you prefer, make the three season room your main living area. With a dining table that seats six plus a loveseat and armchairs, you can spend all day here. Open the windows for a summer breeze, or keep them closed for a cozy fall afternoon.
The large master bedroom has lovely lake views and a king size bed. There are great views of Rogers Rock from the bed! The second bedroom has two sets of twin bunk beds and an additional twin trundle and sleeps five children or young adults comfortably. The third bedroom has a double bed. There's plenty of room for the whole family, and is great for a vacation with extended family or friends.
The main bathroom has been completely renovated and features a tub/shower and double-basin sink. There is also a great view from this room! The second bathroom (on the lower lever), also renovated, features a shower stall. There is also a half bath next to the kitchen.
The lower level has a laundry room with washer and dryer. The playroom is down a half flight from the laundry area, with ping pong, foosball, and its own Sonos speaker.
A blue stone patio at the lake's edge is the perfect place start or end the day. The patio has a fire pit and plenty of space for the whole family (we supply firewood in the shed). Five kayaks with life jackets and paddles are available for use.
During the summer season The Point House is available by the week on a Saturday to Saturday basis. The dock can accommodate one boat up to 25' in length. Please note that we do keep our boat at the house during the summer. It is stored on a lift out of the way. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate jet skis.
We're travelers ourselves and are committed to providing a great vacation rental experience for all our guests.

About the host
Hosted by Rob DuBoff and Heather Crocker

My wife and I live with our three girls in Saratoga Springs. We look forward to spending time during the summer at our Lake George house and and winter at our home in Puerto Rico (also a rental: https://www.vrbo.com/9342051ha?adultsCount=2&noDates=true). Rob owns a music publishing company located in Saratoga Springs and Heather is a private tutor and political campaign consultant. We love ballet, traveling, music, and good food and drink! Our favorite places to visit outside of NY are: Charleston, Puerto Rico, Miami, and California - all warm places with palm trees! But, of course we look forward to spending our summers on Lake George.
Why they chose this property
Lake George is the summer place to be. This house, only 20 feet from the water with 150 feet of frontage, offers unbeatable lake views. Since it faces due south, you'll enjoy beautiful morning sunlight and sunsets over the mountains, with Rogers Rock and Anthony's Nose directly across the lake. The water is shallow and has a sandy and rocky bottom, so swimming off the dock is easy with kids. The Ticonderoga town beach is a few hundred yards away with a sandy beach, volleyball net, picnic tables, lifeguards, and bathrooms.

What makes this property unique
Our lakefront house is in a quiet neighborhood near the town of Ticonderoga, just minutes from the store and the boat launch. Though it's close to town, the house is nestled on the water on the peninsula of Black Point facing south, and feels totally secluded. A year round house, it makes a great retreat in any season.
