The Blue Laurel cabin is nestled in the beautiful little town of Mountain Rest, SC. Relax in the peacefulness & serenity of nature on the private front or back porch of this little piece of heaven in the woods. The cabin accommodates up to 4 guests with a queen bed and a full-size sleeper sofa located in the living area. Enjoy the firepit, horseshoe pit or 2 hammocks while grilling. Located 5 minutes from the sparkling Chattooga River and 25 minutes from Highlands-NC, Cashiers-NC, Clayton-GA and only 15 minutes from the quaint little town of Walhalla with a multitude of eateries and fine shops. Come enjoy the many local waterfalls, scenic rivers, hiking trails, and the newly constructed Stumphouse Mountain Biking Park alongside the historic Stumphouse Tunnel. The local Fly shop can assist you with all your fishing accessories. We are a short 18-minute drive to Chattooga Belle Farm which provides a great selection of farm to table staples as well as Wine tasting. Come relax and refresh your soul with us! We are pet friendly, limit of 2, less than 50#. Dogs must be crated/kenneled if left unattended on/inside the premises.

This property is perfect for couples or family trips! The location is great for exploring so many great outdoor spots and is only a few miles from neighboring towns as well. Blue Laurel is so relaxing, clean, well thought out and stocked for any extra needs.

A beautiful , cozy cabin ,truly one of the cleanest properties I have ever stayed in, it was simple and well-appointed, and so relaxing. No detail was lacking. It was so well organized. The location is perfect: not too far from Clayton and Highlands if you want brunch, and plenty of hiking and natural beauty to enjoy. Ample, easy parking, I loved it and will be back.

This cabin will wrap you with comfort and the peace and quiet you seek. The views are wonderful and this cabin has a very usable floor plan, very clean, and just plain ol' comfortable! The host is very easy to communicate with. Getting checked in was a breeze. I am very happy with the accommodations, to include the outside porch and sitting areas. I am looking forward to my return trip at the end of November. Personally, I just don't think it gets any better than this one!

This was one of the cleanest properties I’ve ever stayed at! The cabin had everything we needed for our weekend and was so nice and comfortable. Melissa was a fantastic host and left us with plenty of snacks and gave great insight on things to do and places to visit in the area. Everywhere was well within driving distance. So many fun things to do in the area. Will definitely be back!

This place is a little slice of Heaven! It is decorated so perfectly - everything matches and has that cabin vibe. It’s equipped with EVERYTHING! The host is the absolute sweetest. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything and more. She even treated us with some special things for our anniversary. This home had lots of thought put into it. Everything was very clean! We only stayed one night to attend a concert at Clemson Stadium. About 45 minutes to an hour to get to the stadium but traffic was very heavy due to the event. I would definitely stay here again in the future. There seems to be lots of outdoor activities in the area. Check-in was easy. Host even left snacks for us! Thankful to have somewhere to bring my dog with me.

Why they chose this property

Mountain Rest is a quiet, secluded area of Oconee County, SC. It borders Georgia and North Carolina. Centrally located to many parks, rivers and trails make it a great getaway to just relax and enjoy the natural surroundings and wildlife. The cabin is far enough off the road to be quiet and secluded, but also close enough to catch a glimpse of a variety of group vehicle rides as it is located right off of Hwy 28, also known as the Moonshine Highway.

A quiet, semi secluded cabin. Great for a couples, girls get-away or working destination retreat. Located in the mountains but still close enough to visit many local towns to shop, eat, and explore.
