Heather Cove Cottage sits on the shores of Union Bay, with a wonderful, shallow inlet perfect for swimming, beach combing and launching your rented kayaks.

This 4 bedroom, 3 bath home sits on a quiet lane off the main road just far enough off the beaten track for relaxing, yet just about 20 minutes to Acadia National Park and apprx. 30 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor.

You'll find a lovely shore where you can enjoy swimming & relaxing. This is a great walking beach! The cove is shallow, allowing the sun to warm the water than most areas of the coast. At low tide the beach area is huge! And of course you will not forget the AMAZING sunsets!

Heather Cove Cottage has an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining, and living area all facing oversized windows and stunning views, The Kitchen is fully stocked with all the accessories, knives, pots, pans, cutlery, lobster pot, etc - for cooking with ease. The deck off the kitchen has dining and a grill.

The HDTV in Living Room has Spectrum Cable TV, Blu-ray Player and streaming access to your favorite TV/movie services like Amazon or Netflix. There is fast Wi-Fi that can support several devices at one time.

In the basement, you'll find a ping pong table so you can have fun on rainy days too! The "garage-like" door fully opens to the water and fire pit for evening s'mores.

Outside, the Fire Pit is the spot for nighttime relaxing and stargazing. A short, groomed path provides easy, flat access to the beach, and you can walk quite a ways in either direction at low tide.

Heather Cove Cottage sleeps up to 8 comfortably and is the perfect size for 2 small families, a group of friends, or a multi-generational gathering. There are 4 Bedrooms - 2 on the first floor. 3 Full Baths. Linens, towels, pillows, and other amenities are provided.

Fantastic home base to explore Acadia. Enjoyable to leave the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and Acadia. 20-30 minute drive to Acadia very manageable. The bedrooms were very comfortable and kitchen well stocked. If we visit the Maine coast again we would definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay for our family vacation to Acadia National Park. The house had everything we needed. Such beautiful views right in the back yard. We enjoyed walking the beach at low tide. And at night we had a bonfire and looked at the beautiful sky with so many visible stars and even the milkyway. We also enjoyed playing games in the sitting area. The location was perfect for everything we wanted to do on our trip. Everyone said this was one of their favorite family vacations and Heather Cove Cottage was amazing.

Great home for our adult family of 6. Beautiful location on water. Out of busy congestion but close enough to all things Acadia. Really a great space. Love having amenities like trash bags, ziplock bags, soap along with many kitchen supplies.

Union River Bay Views 30 Minutes from Bar Harbor

We stayed here from Saturday to Saturday during peak leaf peeping time in October 2024. The home is well appointed, easy to find, close to Bar Harbor but nicely secluded, and is comfortable and clean. We loved getting up and enjoying breakfast while watching the tide roll, getting out and sight seeing around Acadia NP, and then watching the sun set over Union River Bay. We also spent many mornings or evenings walking along the Bay, just enjoying the scenery. It was so easy to coordinate check in, even though we didn't arrive until well after midnight on our first night. There's a lockbox on the front door, so no extra late night access was needed. It was also easy to check out. The property manager was quick to respond to questions. We had no issues while there. Everything worked and everything we needed was there. We had six people, two in the main bedroom with queen, two in the upstairs bedroom with a queen/twin, one person in the upstairs queen/twin, and one person in the downstairs two twin beds room. Our only recommendations/disappointments included: (1) the bed frames are wobbly and could use reinforcement. One of the beds dipped in the middle, though it wasn't enough to coordinate a fix while we were visiting, and (2) there are no views from the upstairs room. But we found that we enjoyed the views from the living room and back deck, and still really liked staying here!

Quiet, Serene and Comfortable with a Magnificent View

Beautiful property far enough away from the crowds to be quiet yet close enough to get to where we wanted to go. Home is well-stocked and tastefully furnished. The highlight was the stunning view. Home is large enough for a good sized family. Enjoyed very much.

You’re done scrolling STOP here!!

This place was simply wonderful!! It saved our trip. The views were awesome and my family had so much fun walking around on the beach and finding treasures. The place had plenty of room to spread out and was stocked with everything you need. For my family Bar Harbor and Acadia were very crowded. Having a place to come back to and get away from the hustle and bustle made the trip that much more enjoyable. The property manager was wonderful. She responded quickly to our questions and was very knowledgeable. If I could give it 10 stars I absolutely would. I highly recommend booking this place. You will not be disappointed!!

Loved the beachfront property!

This house was perfect for our family. It was about 30 minutes from Acadia’s park loop road and an easy drive. We found the house provided all items needed and was very clean. The kids loved the ping pong table and everyone loved that we could walk right out to the beach. The grill was nice to have as we cooked often. We had a movie night every night with the DVDs provided. All mattresses in the house seemed new, however the mattress in the master bedroom was very firm and hard to sleep on based on our preference. We enjoyed our stay and loved that the house was nestled in the woods.

Perfect vacation spot

This home was beautiful and even better than the pictures and description provided. Starting the morning with a cup of coffee sitting in the chairs provided by the water and returning to the same spot to watch sunset with a glass of wine made a perfect beginning and ending to each day. The property owners provided everything you could need for your stay. Kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need. Communication with property manager was easy and they went out of their way to be helpful. This is a perfect spot for couples or a family. Would definitely love to come back and stay again.

Great time at Heather Cove in Trenton

The house was perfect and had amazing views of the water, especially during sunset. The house was very well furnished and had tons of stuff for cooking tasty meals. Kids had a blast playing ping pong in the basement and enjoyed having their own "kid's room" to escape to upstairs. Great communication throughout the process and can't wait to come back soon. Scott and I formerly owned Heather Cove, but though we sold the home, we continue to manage the rentals for the new owner. Also, the cleaning and caretaking crews are the same and will continue to provide excellent care and maintenance for this lovely home.

Why they chose this property

Incredible unobstructed view of the bay and Blue Hill. Flat, shoreline with more sand than usual around these parts! The sunsets are truly sublime. The cove area is shallow so warms up nicely in summer - perfect for swimming and wading.
