Welcome to Apricirty, the perfect tiny cabin! This is a newly-built retreat with a sleeping loft and a full kitchen, with a gorgeous view of Lake Superior and surrounded by woods! Step inside and you’ll discover an uncluttered space with clean lines, thoughtful decor, and that amazing lake view. It's the perfect place for finding your balance and getting back to essentials. Herbster Beach and Cornucopia are minutes away, and Bayfield and the Apostle Islands are nearby.
Your host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties on Lake Superior's South Shore. We're nearby and we're available whenever our guests need us! Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.
Apricity is on Bark Point, a spit of land that extends several miles out into Lake Superior. From the property you've got a great view of the bay behind the point, and you're also just a few minutes from the beautiful estuary at the head of the bay. To get your feet wet in the lake there’s no better spot than Herbster Beach, which is just a few minutes down the road.
The other South Shore towns, Port Wing to the west and Cornucopia to the east, are both close by, both with their own beaches. Port Wing has an awesome coffee shop that roasts its own beans (we stock them in the house) and a great little convenience store with a fish counter. Cornucopia (or ‘Corny' as the locals call it) has an excellent coffee shop, a general store, and a few restaurants and shops. It can be a little more crowded, but it's got a few more amenities, too. Bayfield is close by, too, about 45 minutes’ drive: perfect to check out the attractions over there then return to your South Shore oasis for another Superior sunset. Ashland, where you’ll find more stores and amenities, is just under an hour away. Duluth and Superior are about and hour and a quarter to the west.
Get ready for tiny cabin living! 'Apricity' is the warmth of the sun on a winter day, and you’ll find comfort and warmth here year-round. The cabin is at the end of a long private drive, and before you even reach it you’ll see a sparkle of light to tell you that you’re getting close to the water—Bark Bay, a beautiful inlet off of Lake Superior.
Step into the cabin and we guarantee you’ll be drawn to the sliding glass doors that look out toward the water. They anchor the common room, where you’ll find a comfortable sofa that pulls out into a queen bed. It’s in just the right place to watch a show on the smart TV…or to watch the fire in the gas fireplace on a chilly evening…or (our favorite) to watch the light off the lake through the trees. This is tiny style at its best: everything you need in a space that's small enough to be cozy but never feels cluttered.
The kitchen is small but it’s efficient, with a galley layout that maximizes space. You’ve got a state-of-the-art cooktop and oven (full sized!) at your disposal, plus a microwave and a selection of small appliances to help you whip up a South Shore feast! (And remember that we’ll deliver local foods, from veggies to meat and fish and all sorts of things in between, to the cabin—just ask before you check in.) You’ll find dining space for four tucked in under the stairs in the common room.
Around the corner from the kitchen you’ll enter the bathroom, with a full-size shower and a gorgeous sink and vanity. You can even adjust the color of the ring light around the vanity mirror, warm or cool, so you can look your best, even first thing in the morning.
Head up the stairs and you’ll find the sleeping loft, quite possibly the best part of Apricity. There’s a comfy queen bed waiting for you up there under the cathedral ceiling. Check out the stone textures on the wall above the bed, and don’t forget to turn on the accent lighting for the best effect (it’s also super soothing as you’re drifting off to sleep). You can also dial in the perfect vibe by adjusting the color of the light on the headboard. And whatever you do don’t forget to turn around and look through the windows: from the loft you’ve got a great perspective to see that gorgeous South Shore light as it glints off the water and shines through the trees.
Do you prefer some outdoor fun? Apricity is good for that, too! By the time summer rolls around, we’ll have a sweet little patio outside of the sliding doors, and some paths down toward the water. Inside or out, Apricity is the perfect place to find your way to balance here on the South Shore.
Due to the lack of public transportation and the distance between towns/amenities, a car is pretty much essential. But, on the plus side, traffic is not a concept we have up here!
This home is in the north woods: seasonal bugs/pests can be expected. Although the home is water-facing, there is no direct beach access from the property. No smoking. Short drive or bike ride to Herbster Beach, Bark Bay Slough, and the Herbster Boat Launch

This cozy cabin was conveniently located to many of the beautiful opportunities Bayfield County offers. The cabin was clean, well-organized, easy to find, and so incredibly comfortable. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Had a beautiful stay and we needed this for a getaway for my bf who had recently gone through a very trying ordeal. Just what we needed for a mental reset. Such a peaceful beautiful location over-looking Bark Bay. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Thankyou again so much
We really enjoyed our stay at Apricity! The cabin was perfect; clean, modern, and by far exceeded our expectations. Beautiful, secluded location yet within driving distance from a never ending list of adventures. We hope to make it back!
