We stayed here with 3 our three teenage boys and poodle. We were wary of staying at a pet friendly home since some of us have allergies. The home was extremely clean, not a pet hair in sight.
This property is better than my expectation, location was awesome you are right in front of mountains, ground floor sofas were new, so picture should be updated, kitchen utensils are in good shape and the only feedback I have if linens can be completely replaced with new & rest everything is great in this property. I would love to stay in this property again.

Needs updating
I was looking for a retreat in the mountains with the amenities from home. The pictures looked good, so I went with this property. The views from the porch were in fact breathtaking.
The beds were very uncomfortable. There was a significant water stain on the king mattress. The other room also has a very outdated mattress that made my back hurt. The kitchen appliances are also very outdated and have paint chips and rust stains on them. I feel the kitchen accessories are all very worn and would benefit from getting new dish ware and kitchen utensils and such. This is the most “vintage feeling” property I have ever stayed at.
On top of all that, the house rules included stripping your own linens and washing towels prior to check out. I travel with small children and just don’t have time for all that. I still did it so that I would not get a bad rating. We also had to take our garbage with us to a site a few miles away. I have stayed in the mountains before and have never had to do this myself. I believe that should be covered by the cleaning fee and such.
I would not stay at this property again. It needs a lot of updating and was overall uncomfortable and outdated.

Hi Elizabeth, we're sorry to hear your stay did not meet your expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:- The king-size bed is a Sleep Number bed with adjustable comfort settings. We'll address the issue with the stained mattress to ensure it doesn't pose any inconvenience to future guests. We sincerely apologize for any discomfort this may have caused. - While there is a minor chip on the stove, it is otherwise in excellent condition.- The rust on the refrigerator's bottom edge will be repaired as well. - We have reconsidered the instruction for washing the towels and will handle it ourselves moving forward. - Additionally, we will no longer ask guests to take their garbage to recycling centers due to our remote location. We are dedicated to providing a pleasant and hassle-free experience for our guests, and your feedback helps us improve.
Very nice and quiet get away. Able to watch nature. Driveway to apartment very dusty and narrow. Not much to do in area but hiking not good for old people with bad knees.
The location was rather spectacular, nice and quiet. The views were majestic , just what we were looking for. The apartment itself is rather small, I didn't quite get that feel from the photos. My only one complaint is that the 2nd bathroom has the smallest tiniest shower, hard to even move around. We had the 1st floor
Overall it was a fine experience and probably would stay again. The check in was a breeze and check out just as much so. The price is definitely hard to beat , and I feel for the view of this nature, most other options were much higher in price.
Wonderful every changing views of mountains. Fairly steep access road into property. Apartment had great decor. At times heard person walking in the above apartment on hard floor which was annorying.
Enjoyed this property very much! It was a bit out of town, but a nice drive and over looked the mountains as shown in the picture . The only thing I have to say is that there is an upstairs and downstairs apartment which is not stated in the rental. We had the downstairs apartment and you can hear every footstep above you if someone is there. Also, they allow dogs, and you can hear them running on the floor and bark. Perfect place other than that.

Wonderful Time Beautiful Views
Great Girls trip! Nice location, beautiful views right from your very own porch! It was fairly easy to find, clean and close enough to town. The apartment had everything we needed with the exception of a curtain or blinds on French doors that look directly into the living room. People in the above apartment could see into ours from the stairwell leading to theirs, or from the driveway, (The ONLY reason I didn’t give 5 stars).
The views were amazing, the road getting up the mountain was well maintained, but very narrow on the gravel part! We enjoyed our stay, and would stay again!
This house had everything you could want in a place to stay. House was stocked with everything you could need other than food(which is something you'd want to buy yourself any way). Only thing I'd add is some kind of curtains to the front doors. Absolutely loved our stay. Thanks Gail for an awesome house.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It was clean and the view can't be beat. Pay attention to the directions when driving up the gravel road - the road splits but there is a sign near ground level that lists house numbers. The apartment was very well equipped. The only things missing were kleenex and clothes hangers. Coffee drinkers may want to know that there was both a keurig and a drip coffee maker when we were there. The location seems pretty remote but is only a few minutes from town and some good restaurants - Pig & Grits was our favorite. The internet worked really well but you are asked not to stream or download movies due to data restrictions, so we were unable to take our Roku to watch on the days it rained. The cable TV worked fine. You must take your trash to the recycling center when you leave, but luckily one of the locations was on our way home. (Note that the recycling centers are closed on Sunday and major holidays.) Also, note that this unit is underneath another unit and we could sometimes hear the person and large dog above us, but thankfully both were pretty quiet. The unit now has two leather reclining sofas instead of the 3 sofas shown in the pictures. Also, the bushes have been cut down from in front of the porch railing, so the view is even better than pictured. We would stay there again if we are in the area.
The apartment had everything we needed and more. Rarely do you rent a place that is so well stocked with kitchen needs, toilet paper, garbage bags, etc. The view and seclusion were AMAZING and we enjoyed the fire pit several nights. We were a little worried about sharing an apartment with other renters, as we usually rent private cabins when staying in nature, but we were lucky to meet the very nice gentleman staying above us and had no issues. The location was perfect for us. We mainly came to venture through the mountains, so we expected to drive a bit to hiking trails and view points, but the drive was beautiful. It rained our first morning, so we saw so many gorgeous water falks - Linville, Roaring Fork, and White Oaks. We also visited the Arboretum and Nature Center in Asheville and enjoyed them both. Our first trip to NC and Pisgah National Forest and we fell in love. Already thinking about coming back in the fall or spring!
This place was wonderful! The view was spectacular. The home furnishings, rooms, layout, everything was very clean and relaxing. Enjoyed the bird feeders extremely. I would book here again.

Accommodating Rental
The apartment was large enough for the four of us plus our pets. The only improvements could have been working lights in the washer/dryer area and a larger shower in the second bedroom. It was located in a quaint and cozy town, Burnsville. The town is exceptionally friendly.

Relaxing location with
Our stay was everything we hoped for. The view was wonderful. It was such a nice bonus to put up the feeders in the morning and watch the birds while having coffee. Loved the new leather reclining sofas, and the king sized bed and pillows were very comfy.
We enjoyed the fire pit one evening. Highly recommend!
The house was super comfortable and the views are incredible!! The kitchen is well equipped. Everything was spotlessly clean. The hosts are outstanding and are quick to reply if you need anything. And it’s a great location within easy access to hiking, kayaking, or shopping. Just check out Gail’s binder in the house for lots of great ideas. We had a lovely time and would highly recommend this house.
