Retro-chic retreat in the heart of Wakefield

Located in an original 1910 Wakefield building, "Casa Feliz" is in the heart of the village and at the doorstep of 1001 outdoor adventures. Enjoy a sumptuous meal at one of Wakefield’s fabulous restaurants, or cook at home enjoying the cosy dinner table and wood stove. Summer visitors can jump in the river just steps away. Casa Feliz is perfect for a small family, or for two couples. People staying will need to be able to navigate stairs – the house is two levels. We run state of the art HEPA filters, have a heat pump for cool summer days and nights and cozy winter stays, use unscented cleaning products and soaps, and provide anti-bacterial bed linens. We have wifi but do not provide television – our hope is you will immerse yourself in everything Wakefield has to offer outdoors. And a final touch – Casa Feliz provides local artists with wall space to showcase and sell their beautiful work. You might decide to take a piece home!

In summer, enjoy the farmers’ market just across the street, the river and docks a stone’s throw away, and the extensive Gatineau Park trail system that you can walk to from the front door. Bring your bikes, kayak or paddleboard, or rent some from Expeditions Wakefield, two blocks away. In the eve, saunter down the street for a sumptuous meal at one of Wakefield’s fabulous restaurants, opt for a scrumptious takeout meal, or cook at home and enjoy time around the dinner table. In autumn, take in the spectacular show of vibrant leaves as they turn red and gold. And in winter, enjoy the groomed trails of the Gatineau Park for world-class cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, or go downhill skiing at one of the various ski hills close by. Treat yourself to a massage at the Wakefield Mill or the renowned Spa Nordik in nearby Chelsea. Or stay home in front of the wood-burning fire, curled up with a good book.
