Built around 1840, the cottage is on a dead end country road, so no traffic. Totally renovated in 2010 as a country retreat for its owner, it boasts modern central heating and a traditional wood burner new bathrooms, handmade curtains and a new kitchen equipped to the highest standard. Family birthday parties, literally from 1 year to 100 years, have been celebrated in it.
Rated 4*GOLD by the English Tourist Board 8 years in a row.
Traditional character has been preserved with deep windows, beams, a traditional wood fire, and Rayburn (Aga) cooker, and a selection of antique pictures. We even provide complimentary logs for the fire!
It is a five-minute walk to a traditional English pub with excellent food. Rolling Cotswold countryside can be seen past the traditional village rooflines at the back.
There is a large cottage garden with patio, barb-b- q, and outdoor dining. Fluffy towels and toiletries provide that extra pampered feel. There is an extensive selection of books, and even some children's books and toys for the perfect country retreat. Two full bathrooms and a shower room with WC for lots of privacy
The English Tourist Board has certified this property as family-ready and suitable for cyclists. Cycle hire is available and there is storage. Cot, high chair and plastic crockery are available.

About the host

I have an obsession about personal service, not just machines with endless tape recordings an options and waiting 20 minutes to be answered!
I always make sure that I or my agents are available at the end of my mobile if needed. My motto is "personal holidays with personal service".Almost 1000 guests a year now stay at my holiday homes. The average rating of over 250 online reviews is 4.9! I try to deliver consistency and quality.
We are all from London. I am a retired banker and my wife is a doctor. We started buying holiday homes because we were consistently disappointed with the quality of other places when we started renting self-catering places as a young family. Hotels didn't offer proper flexibility for small kids, and self-catering was either very basic or ridiculously expensive jetset places.
Our children are now 18,17 and 14, but the business has grown as we found that others like our choice of locations and standards. Some of our guests have stayed in all five of our holiday homes, sometimes 3 or 4 times in the same one.

Why they chose this property
The most important factor is the village. Many properties are listed in busy tourist villages such as Burford or Bourton. We wanted a genuine farming village, not a tourist place, but one that had all the charm of a Cotswold village, with pub, church, etc.
The property is an unusual blend of feeling like a very traditional cottage, but properly modernised, yet not losing any of that tradition. It is quiet, there is lots of parking and a large garden.

What makes this property unique
See the comments about the village above! the 15th century pub is just five minute's walk away. The church is more than 1000 years old, there are Norman graves in the church yard. Visit the tapestry of the village beneath the bell tower and you can find the cottage woven into it!
The cottage is furnished with appropriate furnishings and lighting so that it feels like a country cottage. There is even a library of books to enjoy.
