About the host

Host profile image
Welcome to Rosemead Cabins.
We are a hard-working couple with full-time jobs in the area.
We appreciate Hospitality & we want to make sure our guests feel welcomed & at home when you get to our cabin.
We have raised our children (5) & it’s time to live life to the fullest as best we can.
Our Cabin is our retirement & heavenly home…
We enjoy taking our motorcycle for a ride down the winding roads in the countryside to many destinations that are within an hour of our cabin.
We have provided a resource binder with many of our favorite restaurants and destinations.
We love to travel & know that when you come to our cabin, you feel the same way… Relaxed, peaceful and explore something different in the Blue Ridge mountains.
Our background is definitely hospitality… While I come from Europe my partner in life comes from Philadelphia.
We continue to spend our free weekends with family or finding a new small mountain town to explore.
Recently, we went to Dillsboro, which is very close to the cabin (30 min.drive).
We love Antiques, eating at a “hole in the wall” restaurant & finding unique history about the area… especially waterfalls, settlements, old historical mills, and driving through the Smoky Mountains.
Highlands is our home & where our friends are… sunset rock is a quick 20 minute walk up-to to the top & provides a wonderful view of downtown.
We have a special liking to Clayton, Georgia, you could find us at “Coaches” for their wings.
We love to eat out & Caffe Rel in Franklin is definitely a favorite.
Most of our time in the summer is spent by the Cullasaja Gorge River.
We do have a photography business that we are promoting at local art festivals, & waterfalls on the Gorge provide unbelievable backdrops to any photo that you would like to take w/your family or partner.
We are at the stage of life where we enjoy our grandchildren & children when they visit. We feel lucky that we have this cabin to share with our loved ones & new friends such as yourselves!

Why they chose this property

Our interest in this neighborhood was not without research… we looked at-least 20 homes in a 30 mile radius.
We had a criteria of what we truly wanted.
Definitely a log cabin, a mountain view, not too big & w/some land that was close to mountain towns where we could feel
at home.
Our neighbors are very important to us as we share a driveway & we wanted to know that they would be welcoming & friendly.
Almost right away, our neighbor offered us his lawnmower & anything we needed to make our cabin extra special.
The destination was important.
We work in the Highlands area 30 minutes or so from the cabin.
Clayton, Georgia and Franklin, NC are also a 20 minute drive from our cabin… which offer amazing restaurants, antiques, hiking trails, waterfalls and lots to explore.
We felt like this was the trifecta of locations.
Traveling Dillard Road/106 we have our friends who own the High Holly Vineyard, which is an 8 minute drive from our cabin, as well as The Highlands Aerial Park & Outpost that we have enjoyed with our families…
Scaly Mtn. close by provides Mtn. coasters, tubing, trout fishing, zip lining & two local favorite restaurants… Mexican
(El guacamole Loco), Magliocca’s (Italian), which definitely helped with our choice.
Rosemead cabin is so cozy.
We have rocking chairs & picnic table on our covered back porch, you can eat outside & feel the fresh Mountain air.
We have beautiful trees & an open garden where you can sit, grill out, while taking in a breath… for a moment of relaxation.
We provide Wi-Fi, laundry room,
queen bed, full bed, A/C, Fireplace, full kitchen & amenities in the bathroom such as soap, Q-tips, shampoo & conditioner.
We would like to extend an invitation to request help to provide something special that we could have ready at the cabin when you arrive (for a minimal fee).
For Ex. Flowers, groceries, or a gift for a celebration.
We know you will love it here at Rosemead Cabins as much as we do!

What makes this property unique

What makes our property unique?
As I sit to fill this questionnaire out, I am surrounded by fireflies…
We can sit in the hammock or on the back porch with nothing else on our mind, only to enjoy the Mountain cool air… The Cabin makes us feel relaxed, away from any stress…
The best part about being in the mountains is the temperature… We feel more comfortable when we are in the 70s.
We do have to say that in the winter time, seeing the cabin fully covered in snow. was absolutely beautiful.
We started a fire at the fire pit outside, while the fireplace inside warmed up the cabin… it felt like the holidays we’re ready to be celebrated…
We love Christmas. We will be decorating Rosemead Cabins for the holidays.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July and Easter will be observed…
Please let us know what you like to celebrate and how…
