We are thrill you enjoyed your time here and we love it when people actually use the wood stove and the outside fireplace. Thank you for choosing us and for being such fabulous guests!
The cottage is clean and is stocked thoughtfully with everything you need, the hosts are gracious, the garden is lush, and if the weather is right you wake up to a stunning view of Mt. Baker! Easily the best VRBO we've stayed in.
Everything in the description is true - stunning views, pet-friendly, quiet. The cottage is equipped with the basic needs and we appreciated the no TV. It's cozy and the setting is beautiful.

What a wonderful guest Sandra was. We love her enthusiasm and appreciation for the quiet. She took excellent care of our little cottage. We welcome her back any time.
Beautiful location with stunning views. Very pet friendly if you have a pet. Well outfitted for cooking. Definitely will return and highly recommended.
Angie and her family were such wonderful guests and even gave helpful hints about how to make our lovely cottage even better. We appreciate so much what good care they all took of things, going beyond what was necessary to return the cottage to us in clean and well-kept condition.
We have stayed at this property multiple times over the last few years and it never disappoints. The location, amenities, hosts, and the wonderful cottage itself keep us coming back. We are already looking forward to our next stay hopefully in the near future!
A perfect few days overlooking the Salish Sea. The cottage has everything I needed and my dog enjoyed long walks along Raccoon Point. Would recommend and hope to stay again!
Linda and Brad were phenomenal hosts. This home is just as advertised, with even more serenity and hope to be back again very soon!

What a joy to have Courtnee, fiancee and doggie Frankie as our guests. They were perfect. The cottage was left in tip-top shape, they were quiet and respectful of all rules and enthusiastic about the accommodations, which makes us very happy, indeed. We welcome them back any time.
We had a great 3-night stay at the Sea View Cottage. It was quiet and felt like home while we were sightseeing around the San Juan Islands. The owners do a good job of offering assistance but give plenty of privacy.
A warm and very comfortable place! Sweeping Salish Sea views of Mt Baker to Vancouver BC. Definitely look forward to returning.

Thank you for your wonderful comments and we take such joy that you loved the view from our guest cottage and the opportunities you took for the many hikes around the island. We enjoyed you both and your little dog so much. And you left the cottage in perfect condition! We look forward to your return.
About the host
Hosted by Linda Bannerman
Living on Orcas is a 50-year-ago dream-come-true for me. In 1964, I landed in Mt. Vernon, a freshman at Mt. Vernon High School after a young life of profound difficulties and challenges. During those high school years, I would visit the San Juans often, and remember in particular a high school graduation bike trip to Orcas. Throughout my life travels, I have thought often about those sweet days on Orcas and wondered if I might live here one day. I've worked hard and dreamed sweet. . . and now, finally, here I am. And I want to share it with you. I've taught high school English for 30 years and now have a private practice in counseling. I adore helping others, caring for the earth, and celebrating the beauty of this island and this home. Life is so full of beauty if we are willing to set aside the hustle and bustle of surviving and live just in the moment. Come here to do just that. Listen to the wind whip through the pines and firs in winter. Steady your gaze upon the purple Cascades in the evening sunset, the distant twinkling lights of a city unaware of us at its feet. Welcome the quiet visit of a doe and her fawn, hoping for an apple treat offered from your hand. Come celebrate the spectacular gift of life with me here in this quiet and very special oasis.
Why they chose this property
I wanted a home with light. I wanted a home with the sound of a tumbling creek nearby and the sight of a mated pair of eagles weaving a magic dance in the sky and using the limbs of a fir tree for rest in sight from my bedroom window. i wanted the charm of a bookstore, filled with the smell of fresh brewed coffee and a choice of books about lofts and Hemmingway only minutes from my backdoor. I have it here and want to share it with you. You who are hungry for quiet and beauty.
What makes this property unique
This, more than any other guest home you will find, offers you spectacular views and profound quiet. Twinkling lights at night. Purple mountain views at dusk or morning. Vigorous walks on a forested road any time of day at all.
