Great location!

Cabin is located on a working farm with acres of crops such as barley and alfalfa. Hosts/owners are nearby and very accommodating. Cabin is clean and comfortable. Host insures you have all your basic needs. Lots of areas nearby to explore and enjoy. Relaxing in the very quiet and beautiful setting is stellar! If you’re in the area be sure to make it your stay.

Home Away from Home

Staying at Norma and Dan's VRBO was amazing. They created a home away from home for us. We are so comfortable. They were right next door and very responsive and friendly. We will plan on staying there on our next trip to the area. Anyone who stays here will be pleased!

Perfect weekend getaway!

Dan and Norma’s farm cabin was the perfect place for our weekend getaway! They were so kind and their place had everything you needed! The views from the balcony are amazing and I highly recommend watching sunset from there! 10/10 recommend! We also visited Mesa Verde National Park which was incredible. Tours of the cliff dwellings are a must!

Perfect weekend getaway spot

My fiance' and I stayed at this cabin for a weekend getaway and loved it. From stargazing and peaceful, quiet nights to the ease of getting around (we traveled to Mesa Verde and Telluride), we would stay here again in a heartbeat! Also, Norma and Dan are lovely, and their dogs are so friendly. 5/5!

Great place!

Very nice cabin with beautiful views of the alfalfa fields & sleeping Ute mt. beyond. I was fascinated by Dan's operation, he really has it down to a T. Would have liked to tag along with him for a day to get an up close look but did not want to intrude. Cabin was spotless, Norma left a very nice welcoming gift, very kind. Perfect location for riding mt. roads & Moab. Great hosts, thank you!

Nice roomy and cosy cabin

We really enjoyed staying at Dan and Norma's cabin. It was roomy, spotless clean, and the set up on a farm was very peaceful. The view is nice especially around sunset. Dan and Norma are charming and welcoming hosts. Kitchen very well equipped to cook. Their 3 dogs adopted us in no time. When I return mountain biking in the area, I will make sure to book this cabin, which is a little gem.

The perfect home

Besides the home’s uniquely perfect location from attractions like Mesa Verde, Cortez, monument valley, canyon lands, etc., being on a farm sounding with meays from the grazing cows, friendly owners, inside a well kept, immaculately clean and stocked home lends an unforgettable experience. The owners are friendly. The views from all sides grows a prayer. The Duncan farm is the best vrbo in the greater southwest Colorado. I hope to visit here again. The story about the warrior sleeping Ute god was cherry on the cake.

Affordable, very clean, very private, and super friendly hosts! All amenities were provided.. anything you use in your daily life… it’s there! The property is beautiful and our family had a blast! Having a child under (2) they had a baby gate available which we needed for the stairs, and a pack and play (which we didn’t need) but great they had it available. We even got to feed to horses with the family! Highly recommended! And about 15 minutes from town. We can’t wait to go back!

Nice and relaxing

Came to visit family with our dogs in tow. Loved having a place close to them that allowed pets. Also loved waking up and taking them on a walk down the road and letting them run off leash, since the road has no other houses on it past the site.

The cabin/cottage was cozy clean with everything you needed. (Including toothpaste/brushes shampoo etc) Location was pretty close to perfect for our plans. The host were friendly, greeted us when we were both there but otherwise left us be. Very peaceful with a couple beautiful sunsets. Bonus was the two dogs we all loved. Highly recommend!

Relaxing and reviving

After 8 days of touring National Parks we needed a break and this farm was wonderful. The boys ( 8 and 10) played football on the beautifully landscaped grounds. We made s’mores at the firepit at sunset. Time for a puzzle and lots of card playing. We ventured out to go horseback riding and visit Canyon of the Ancients. And we did NOT eat in restaurants. The cabin was charming with stunning views. Our hosts were great. My only negative comment is that their listing did not mention that they also have cats. Made my day to see them roaming about with the dogs and horses. This place was the very best of our vacation.

About the host

Hosted by Dan Duncan, property owner

Host profile image
Dan grew up 7 miles northwest of current home. He is a retired pilot, who flew so he could farm and ranch. Norma retired (5/2016) after 31 years of teaching and now I quilt and try to keep up. We have lived here 23 years, lived in Montana for 12 years and Las Vegas for 11 years.

Why they chose this property

This home was originally built because our son was an officer in the Marine Corps and it was his home when he came home for extended times. He now comes back a few times a year and our extended family and friends come to stay and enjoy the privacy.

We are centrally located to many of the main attractions in Southwest Colorado. The land we are located on have a view of the Sleeping Ute Mountain, the La Plata range, Blue Mountains and Lizzard Head.

What makes this property unique

You will love the view, solitude, and the stars at night.
