About this property
Merrymeeting Lake-Relaxing Getaway-Modern, Spacious Home- Private Setting
Lakeside relaxation at it's best! Enjoy the crystal clear water of Merrymeeting Lake--rated one of the cleanest lakes in NH. New three bedroom home across the street from the lake, located on a private lot set back from the road, surrounded by trees with an open sunny front yard. Large front deck and covered side porch for outdoor enjoyment in any weather. The house is bordered by 2000 acres of undeveloped land, with regular sightings of deer, foxes and other wildlife. Waterfront access via right of way to lake with a shared private beach.
Bright and sunny with lots of windows, wood floors throughout, open concept living area with living room, kitchen, dining area and large loft. Three bedrooms offer privacy for 6. One bedroom on the first floor with a queen bed, two bedrooms on second level-one with a queen and other with twin beds. Couches in loft and living room allow additional sleeping for two.
Two bathrooms, one on each floor. Modern kitchen with all cooking amenities. The house is secluded enough to escape from the daily grind, but only 15-20 minutes to grocery stores and restaurants. In warm weather, dip in the lake, paddle a kayak (3 provided) or drift aimlessly on one of the floats. Enjoy nature. Excellent fishing year round. At night, relax around the fire pit and enjoy the brilliance of the nighttime sky as you stargaze on the deck.
Explore the area-- several good hiking spots are found in the area. Mt. Major (25 minutes away) is a moderate hike rewarded with fabulous panoramic views of Lake Winnipesaukee. Gunstock Mountain (19 miles/30 minutes)offers skiing and snow tubing in season, and an alpine slide, zip line and chair lift rides in warmer weather. Snowmobile on miles of trails maintained by the Powder Mill Snowmobile club. Visit Wolfeboro - the oldest resort town in America only 30 minutes away, or catch the Mount Washington Boat Cruise in Alton (20 minutes) or Wolfeboro to tour Lake Winnipesaukee. Tour the local NH Fish & Game Fish Hatchery(2.5 miles) and exploreThe Children's Museum of NH (Dover) 45 minutes away. Music lovers enjoy the Bank of NH Pavilion (formerly Meadowbrook) in Gilford for a premier summer concert venue.

About the host
Hosted by Property Manager/Owner

Hi, I'm Laurie. I am from NH, and we have always loved Merrymeeting Lake for it's crystal waters and the tranquility of the lake. We built our house in 2016, and are happy knowing that others can enjoy it when we are not there. When not working or spending time with family and friends, I volunteer my time in support of land conservation as a board member of a regional land trust and the local Lake Association.
Why they chose this property
Our house is a perfect getaway place. Merrymeeting Lake is far enough removed to allow enjoyment of nature, yet only 10-20 minutes to grocery stores, gas, restaurants etc.
What makes this property unique
Peace and quiet!
