Tastefully renovated chartreuse-style house set in 7 acres of oak woodland with magnificent views, just 15 minutes from SARLAT.

Well proportioned living room with wood burning stove and French doors opening onto large terrace.

Contemporary open-plan kitchen with all appliances: oven and hob, 2 fridge freezers, microwave, dishwasher. Adjoining dining room with large table and chairs for 10, with childs high chair.

TV room with WIFI internet.

Separate WC, handbasin and shower. Plus concealed washing machine.

Large exterior upper dining terrace with shaded dining area, leading down to 10mx5m private heated pool with wooden decking, sun loungers, a 6mx3mshaded pergola with dining table and lovely views.

20 minute walk to small hamlet with 3/4 restaurants and a bakery. 15 minute walk to edge of the Dordogne river for swimming.

Carsac (5 minute drive) has all amenities including bakery, butcher, pharmacy, cafes and restaurants, hotel newsagent, local produce store, medical & dentist clinic, canoe hire and summer Sunday market.

Sarlat 8km/15 min drive. A beautiful well known medieval town with all amenities including large supermarkets, cinema, lovely square, cultural events, many restaurants and a Wednesday and Saturday market.

Une semaine en hiver.

Nous avons passés un agréable séjour dans cette grande demeure qui a gardé son style ancien. Le séjour spacieux permet de se retrouver tous au coin du feu. Vue panoramique, à proximité de Sarlat idéal pour séjourner en famille ou entre amis.

Magnifique maison pour un séjour inoubliable

Très belle maison conforme à la description. On s'y sent tout de suite très bien. La vue est à couper le souffle. La terrasse est parfaite pour des grands dîners en soirée. La piscine est super, un peu chauffée, on peut s'y baigner très tard quand il fait très chaud. L'isolation, la literie, les équipements, tout est parfait. Nous reviendrons !

Born in Singapore, grew up in Zimbabwe, educated in UK and have been living in Kenya for 40 years. I have owned different houses in France for the past 45 years, this one is by far the best and maybe the last. It provides a great coming together venue for my family and friends: plenty of room and plenty of things to do.

Why they chose this property

The house is private, in its own oak wood, but not remote. It provides ensuite accommodation for 10 people, but is not vast. The view from the terrace is magnificent. The area is full of chateaux, the destination of choice for those who had the wealth to choose anywhere. Early man also chose to live in these protected green valleys. Good wine, good food, good neighbours.
