Pet Friendly:

Important Note About Driveway Access:
The gravel driveway is steep in sections, especially near the top. While many sedans, SUVs, and trucks navigate it without issues, 4-wheel drive is recommended. When pulling out, avoid hesitating at the crest - it's steeper than it looks from the road, but very manageable once you're on it.

Neighborhood Guidelines:
Located in a peaceful residential area - please no parties or loud music after 10pm. We want all guests (and neighbors!) to enjoy a relaxing and respectful environment.

Our home is over a century old and tucked into a beautiful wooded setting, where nature is part of the experience. Because of the natural surroundings and the age of the home, you may occasionally cross paths with insects or local wildlife - it's all part of the charm of an old soul.

Pet friendly, well stocked and adorably decorated. The steepness of the driveway was a challenge, even with awd. We did it once and parked on the street after that and walked up and down. Other than that it is a super nice rustic cabin in the woods

Very friendly host and a wonderful serene little stay. Only minutes from town and right around the corner from our job site. Absolutely love the back porch!

This was a perfect spot for us. Close to family we were visiting and secluded the way we like to be.The weather got cold, but the house is snug and cozy.

Missing that old run-down frat house furniture? Looking for an overpriced campsite? Book this cabin if you enjoy the smell of mold and stale cigarettes. The place sat closed up with the window AC units off, so nothing had moved that air. Running them a few hours before check-in is the least a host could do. Good luck documenting it for a refund: the mold is behind a locked basement door, and odors don't show up in photos. For 250 a night you get a cliff to pitch a tent on. I'd recommend that over the interior. The living room is a stained couch and a stained recliner, both holding whatever soaked in years ago. The interior window sills are lined with dead bugs. The grounds are wilderness: scrap metal, broken tractors, rusted animal pens, piles of trash. Every hoarder amenity is stowed under the porch collecting rainwater and breeding mosquitoes. Five minutes out there and you'll look like you caught a rash. The driveway is a challenge with all-wheel drive on a dry day, and leaving means pulling blind into traffic. The only other real review here is also one star. The rest of the praise lives in a homemade guestbook where the handwriting and phrasing look awfully familiar, overlapping itineraries and all.The host keeps every dollar even when you tell her on arrival you won't be sleeping there. It books maybe every other month, so no one else was paying for those nights. When a guest doesn't feel comfortable, I'd hope a host would offer at least a partial refund.

Response from VrboOwner on 16 Sept 2026
We would not host this guest again and would caution other hosts to carefully consider accepting a reservation from them. Shortly after arriving, the guest messaged us, “we are in love with the space.” A few hours later, however, the guests voluntarily left the property and chose to stay at a hotel instead of completing their reservation. They subsequently requested a refund, despite the reservation being subject to our clearly stated cancellation policy. When we declined the refund in accordance with those terms, the guest left an extremely negative review of our property. The circumstances were particularly concerning because the guest initially expressed strong satisfaction with the property, voluntarily abandoned the reservation only hours after arrival, and then posted a highly negative review after their refund request was denied. Based on our experience, we consider this a high-risk reservation for future hosts. We recommend that other hosts exercise caution when deciding whether to accept a booking from this guest.

Hi, we're LeeAnne and Ross! We loved living in this home for years - it's peaceful, private, and still close to everything. Though work took us to Florida, we couldn't part with it. We stay here when visiting Pittsburgh, our forever home. We're outdoor lovers into hiking, fishing, kayaking, and off roading. We also have a dog and cats who keep life fun! We're happy to share local tips and hope you enjoy this cozy space as much as we do.
